  1. That situation sucks - so sorry through no fault of your own have you found yourself in this predicament!

I would ring the RE and talk to the property manager not the guy who was filling in, he sounds very incompetent. State your case to the boss and hopefully as they have already checked you out etc, they should offer to relocate you to a home close by that would accept your pets. I have had friends who have found themselves having to relocate without much notice but did have good references for her dogs, her RE found her another place to move into as she was a good renter and they wanted to keep her.

If the RE is not open to helping you in this situation, call Tenancy tribunals to see what your options are

I really hope you are able to find a solution without having to rehome your Coco - perhaps your OH could rehome his sister!

  2. Just a note that she does seem to prefer in the backseat rather than the front and doesn't like looking out the front windscreen

Merlin was the same, didnt like driving if he could see out the window, settled down straight away when he was put on the backseat. Unfortunately there was a few times early on that we were rushed or I was on my own and couldnt settle him so I am doing the same as Persephone has suggested, taking Merlin out to get used to the car and to enjoy being in it slowly

:o it works for all of us

  3. Congratulations!

We introduced Merlin about 4 months ago to 2 indoor cats, we supervised their interaction for the first couple of days. He was mostly interested in us for the first few days which gave the cats time to watch and suss him out. Merlin slept in the laundry at night, sectioned off from the rest of the house and was also separated during the day when we were at work. We were also lucky to take some time off from work to bond with him and also to settle everyone with the new puppy coming into the house.

If the cats started getting a bit funny or hissing at him, we would put him away or go outside to play with him so they got a time out.

Merlin learn pretty early on from Jessie, who is 19 years and grumpy, to stay away from her but he and Bella get along like a house on fire. They quite often sit out in the cat yard together investigating something or chasing each other around! Merlin's just had a 3rd cat introduced in the last week so he is a little unsettled cause all he wants to do is make friends but Axel wont have it just yet!

Does the breeder you are getting the pup from have cats? Perhaps they can introduce the puppy to a cat before they send her, that might help too

  4. Here is a photo of our little girl Georgia, she's currently 11 weeks old. We won't be picking her up until we get back from holidays in a few weeks. I was so excited last night I couldn't sleep. :rainbowbridge: Isn't she beautiful. She's from the original litter we were waiting for, but the breeder was going to keep for showing.

 oh she is just beautiful, lovely name too

Poppy - Good luck today, hope your little one arrives safe and sound

  5. Well its official, we have a puppy arriving in a few weeks. I can't believe it, we've waited for what seems forever, and this came totally out of the blue. I'll update with some pics tomorrow. I've got butterflies in the tummy I"m so excited.

    :rainbowbridge::hug::cry: Congratulations, :hug:

Love to see photos and more details as you get them

  6. I have been hunting around for something to get rid of odours in our house, unfortunately we have a 19 year old cat who now thinks no rules apply to her anymore and she has had several accidents along with a puppy and 2 other cats!

Have emailed an order for a 5 litre lemon

 thanks for recommending them VJB

  7. I thought I'd pop in and say G'day. Everyone's new pups are gorgeous, and you've picked some great names. We're still waiting on a pup and not getting much closer. I see a few of you have had breeders change their minds about keeping certain pups. We had the same thing happen, but I'm not bitter about it, just being extra patient. Its hard, but it will just make us appreciate our little bub even more. I understand that our breeder breeds first to have dogs to show and breed with, and whats left us pet owners get, which is totally fine.

The breeder has kept the pup I would have loved to adopt, and I've told her if she doesn't work out in the show ring, I will adopt her in a heartbeat, even if she's a bit older. I told the breeder I'm sending vibes to make her grow too big, or not enough, which a big thing with shelties. She takes it in good humour, and we have a great rapport, so I think our patience will be rewarded. If we don't get this pup, then there will be another litter coming later year. I'm first in line for a pup, I'm sure it will work out for us.

Sending patient vibes to everyone else who's in the same position. :D

I have seen you on here waiting so patiently for your sheltie, you wont be disappointed believe me - they are wonderful dogs :laugh::)

:o You get a baby soon Mich

  8. :( Congratulations to everyone who has welcomed a new puppy into their home lately - the photos are all sooo gorgeous! ;) :D

So makes me wish Merlin was little again, not that he is old being only 6 months but he looks more like a dog these days than a puppy - such special times

I am trying to settle a new cat into our home at the moment so things are a little tense around here at times :D he settles in soon

  9. You are awesome k9angel. The passion and love you have for the dogs you rescue (and for those you can't) just beams off the pages. You truly are an angel :) , thank you for all that you do :):), I admire you and the amazing effort you put in.

Of course there are many other rescuers who also do a phenomenal job and I applaud you all :) .

    Here Here! :( Very well said :) :) :)

Hope he continues to get better and betterer :D

ELEVEN Siberian tigers have died of malnutrition at a zoo in China in the past three months.

The tigers of the Shenyang Forest Wild Animal Zoo in northeast China's Lianoning province died due to malnutrition rather than infectious diseases, said Liu Xiaoqiang, vice chief of the Shenyang Wild Animal Protection Station.

The tigers were fed only one or two scrawny chicken carcasses each day and were confined in very small, wet cages. In one case, six tigers died in a single day.

The zoo has blamed dwindling finances on the tigers’ deaths. Since November, 2009, Shenyang Qipanshan Administration Committee has been providing the zoo with food worth 18,000 yuan ($2880) a day. This amount of money is deemed adequate to meet the tigers’ nutritional needs.

However, a zoo official said: “The zoo is in a financial crisis and we haven’t been able to provide the tigers with sufficient food for the last two years. An adult tiger eats about 20lb of meat a day, but the tigers here can barely get a chicken to quench their hunger every one or two days.”

The zoo has also reportedly been behind in paying wages for over a year.

It is not the first time the zoo has been in the news for leaving its tigers to starve.

In November last year, two hungry tigers at the sanctuary were killed after they mauled a zoo worker who suffered serious injuries. After the incident, the local administration asked the zoo authorities to keep the animals in cages, which further deteriorated their health, Liu said.

In late 2007, four tigers at the zoo killed and devoured another tiger with which they had shared their living quarters for five years, The Times reported.

According to travel agency promotions online, the zoo is a first-class national wild animal zoo that opened in 2000.

Only about 20 of rare endangered Siberian, or Amur, tigers are believed to survive in the wild along China’s border with Russia. The South China tiger is believed to be close to extinct.

About 5000 tigers live on farms in northeastern China and in the southwest where they are bred in the hope that a ban on trade in tiger parts may one day be lifted, unleashing demand among Chinese for bones for use in traditional medicine and aphrodisiac tonics, The Times reported.

 ;) ;) ;) Very sad to see that this can happen in this day and age ;) :(:cheer::crazy:
