  1. Awww I compeltely understand how a boxer can steal ones heart :)Terribly sad about the clients wanting her to come visit, A dog can brighten even the darkest days IMO. here is a pic from when you brought her to the dog show
  2. I hope dogs are not meant to be robots in minor, my rotti male is in junior and is still somewhat of a turd, behaves at home tapdances in the ring and worms around lol. At least he is enjoying himself and on one of his worst days like this he got Junior in Group so judge obviously could see enough even with him not standing completely still :D
  3. Yeah agree 2.5-3 hours to get to Busso used to live there. I am going to Bunbury at midnight tonight though crazy aren't i, thats for Christmas so have to pack all the gifts, and sacks, and food and bedding, and clothes and fans and Oh shoot why don't i just stay in perth lol. Boxa as i said on Fb i am so saddened to read that bondi is so stoic and you are such a dedicated owner tears i love your girl she always made me smile when you brought her down to the dog shows and the pics mon had of her. BIG GIGANTIC hugs
  4. RV i could try and sneak one of my kids away and you could borrow theirs if you think it would help
  5. igot my neighbours freaked about sharks as they take the dogs swimming in river lol vest of luck faolmor
  6. Glued back together and on antibiotics thank heavens he is ok
  7. man i feel terrible brought a muzzle so i could groom mum's rather ungroomed and matted papillion. Finally caught and muzzled and I'm cutting fur to make it easier to shave no idea how as i wasn't cutting near skin but i cut him open bigger than a 50c piece. He is at the vet awaiting stitching. Hope he'll be ok he's 16 i feel terrible and what a time of year to do it man things need to look up soon please
  8. I was lucky with my first pedigre dog her breeder said i have a theme you have this many letters to play with and she actually liked the name i came up with but if i didn't come up with something or she didn't like it it was her choice second is my pup and breeder chose her name but i liked it we decided it together third no say
  9. He fitted back in as if he never left, i had two kids by this point and was a bit nervous, he did have scars and no teeth and severe athritis so not sure what he went through, but yep he resumed his spot on the lounge and was still the same gentle well mannered/trained dog that went missing. Unfortunately he wasn't with us long enough upon return due to his athrititis and cancer he was given his wings a few months back now at the age of 6
  10. It happens all the time. I could write a book about the emotional reunions I've witnessed. It's very sad. I've never really been able to understand the mentality myself. The vet nurse who picked up my rotti boy fell in lvoe with him and his personality, When my husband called me to say that i wasn't going to work today i was going for a drive to pick Zeus up i burst into tears i didn't believe him. I got to vet and nurse brought him out and he dragged her to me he remembered me and i him tears all round. He would of had a lovely home if he wasn't chipped :D
  11. I understand its important to you but his pet name doesn't need to be related to his pedigree name at all i have *prefix* total nv toall (pet name Chandra) *prefix* dare t dream (pet name Kelari) the other one's name is in his pedigree *prefix* takin chances (pet name Chance) hope you get it sorted though
  12. perhaps the name was declined, i believe (may be wrong) that breeders put in a couple of choices per pup and sometimes its liek aprefix the first name isn't always chosen? sure i will be corrected if i am wrong edit to ask is the prefix similiar to his name that may be what she meant i don't believe you can have the prefix int he registered name except at the beginning again i may be wrong
  13. so sorry griff, run free ryan.
  14. Council registration of dogs....with tags to wear on collars... pre-date microchipping by decades. ID disks on a dogs' collars have been around since Adam was a chap. I read where King Edward VII's dog, Caesar, had an ID tag which said, 'I'm the King's dog.' Even the king of England was prepared that his dog might get lost. Was there any reason why the 2 dogs you've posted about, did not wear either or both registration tags and ID tag? I don't have sympathy for owners who lack the foresight to imagine what might happen if their dog gets lost....without any form of identification. I have sympathy for the pets. I always had collars and tags on my dogs unless being bathed but after i almost had one strangled they only wera collars when out htey are microchipped though
  15. i recently found an elderly german shepherd who had fly bitten ears, was slightly skinny and i suspect been hit by a car as he has abig wound on his hind leg/foot. I called the ranger as i found him at the school and he was nervous of kids he was friendly with my rotti girl who i put in the car and used her lead to tie him up. i moved him into the shade and sat for three hours with him to the ranger came. Her first words are oh he's skinny and look at his ears (they were taped to prevent further fly bite) i went he is elderly and may be suffering a medical condition due to being under weight. she automatically assumed he was unloved. he was picked up by his owners thankfully cos i was gonna take him on if his owners hadn't found him in his alloted time to allow them more time as it was clear he was loved. Too make assumptions causes great distress i had my rotti boy get let out of the yard he was collarless due to having a bath, i advertised everywhere papers, poles, radios, rang every pound in perth and visited. no rottis, i checked papers for litters or for sale adds and went and checked. 3 years later we got a call due to his microchip a vet nurse found him wandering over an hour away we were overjoyed to get him back. if the person who found him had only done the right thing i wouldn't of went through three years of angst wondering what happened to him
  16. my cats love the dogs and dogs love them
  17. i like them equally i got four though 1 i can take or leave him. Two are very dog like that they sit come and get down on command they also beg lol.
  18. Ok i am so not eating dinner now and no it wasn't cottage cheese. My son has a liking and picks them up and brings them at me
  19. Happy to help whenever Hehehe i might need it if i start dominating the challenge line up or i can't run any more That's a very good point! I look forward to it she loves being out so will be nice. i might bring both girls will concentrate on them for now. 20. Well she will keep getting dogs at the beginning of the alphabet!! reminds self to stick with rottis they are never first even when two shows are running side by side lol
  21. Excellent thanks Mirawee i will appreciate the help as the owner of three of the dogs i show's ankle is still pretty stuffed not sure she will be up to running depends how it heals etc I will provide shelter, food and drink ;) anyone else is welcome to come along too even if just to watch I have clarified too i have had some judges point its liek sorry was that an out and back a circle a triangle???
  22. i forgot to writeunder my quote for MG my mate got in the ring for the first time with Chandra as she is completely trained, i told the steward who told the judge it was his first time. he also told the judge it was his first time and clarified everything. ie judge asked for a triangle so he goes to judge you want me to go to that corner then to that one then back to you is that right. they (most) don't bite and are more than willing to tell you what they want in detail he almost got cc that day
  23. Hehehehe whilst pregnant i showed 5 man i thought the steward was gonna have a heart attack every time i said i had a handler change wait to our specialty (national) in June i will have a junior dog, an inter dog a minor bitch, a junior bitch, an inter bitch, an open bitch and am trying to get one of my breeders dogs  I may be slightly messed in the head there is going to be a fair amount of running :S and then i also will have my two older girls in the breed survey and if i can both girls in the obedience portion :S expensive exercise but should be fun :D Why don't you come down to a couple of shows with Gibbs in the new year, just to watch and learn. Gibbs will be around lots of dogs (always a good thing!) and you can watch what is going on. Judges aren't scary (ok, some are), and if you tell the steward it's your first time showing, they are really kind. I think that obedience judges look scarier so I know how you feel watching from the outside
  24. If you want him shown SG you could see if one of us would do it or get a junior handler they are normally more than willing and it gives them experience. or come to some open shows as they tend to be smaller (trainee judges) and you can often take a few shots if you feel it wasn't done properly. i used these to learn and build up confidence :D Or there are enough of us on here who would take him in the ring for you the first time or two if you want to give it a go That is what we have done with Taavi - E has been told she is showing him at his last Baby show on NYE but we have got him to the stage that he isn't too naughty in the ring now :D Hehehehe i love watching naughty puppies in the ring it makes my day. i can not wait to a friend's litter is old enough to show they are only 3 weeks but i will have another baby rotti to show man thats 7 dogs at one show LOZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I may need help in the near future ok CCD. shows how much i know i thought CD was the first one ok so she knows sit on command, drop on command though can be lazy so i need to proof this, she walks nicely on lead so i need to proof that to heel hmmmmm could be fun her stay is terrible :p  well its sometimes there. recalls most of the time :p
