  1. I have noticed that Taste of the Wild is now available in Australia. I am a Canidae ALS grain free feeder but after reading great reviews about this kibble in America for a long while I feel compelled to give it a go. Is anyone else feeding or thinking of feeding this food?
  2. I alternate between the ALS and Salmon formulas. Since I have a puppy I've stuck with the ALS because of the lower protein levels. It took mine a while to make the switch with loose stools etc. but I am happy I persisted.
  3. I have two boxers (11 years and 4 months) and a six year old JRT that all spend time together outside during the day and they are fine. In saying that I'm not sure who has the most energy the Boxer pup or the JRT. I think it's personal preference and I would give them plenty of practice runs under supervision.
  4. I know this topic has been done before but for the life of me I can't find it in a thread search. I'm looking for an online store to find raised dog bedding and cushions. Thanks people.
  5. I know the one you're talking about. Thanks.
  6. Where is Penrith Vet Gretel? Thanks for all the suggestions.
  7. Thanks guys. Thursdays are the only nights that I cant go because of work. Might have to see what I can organise.
  8. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good puppy preschool near Penrith in Sydney? I'm hopeful of bringing a new Boxer pup home soon and am trying to get everything in place.
  9. You beauty! I wonder what formulas they will send out and who will be the retailers?
  10. I have used ALS and ALS Grain Free for a while now and am extremely impressed with it. The law suit was to do with an unadvertised change in formula that made a number of dogs sick in the stomach. From memory the change in formula happened when the company that produced the food changed hands and people thought that they were using lower standard ingredients. I started using the food post change and have no complaints with it. The only food I would consider changing to is Taste Of The Wild if it became available in Australia.
  11. Great news about Taste of the Wild. I emailed then several months ago and never got a response. I'd love to try this food, everyone in the US raves about it.
  12. Hopefully this can be sorted out and explained. It all seems a little weird.
  13. Same here Gayle. A mixture of both works well for both my girls.
  14. Started the switch last weekend. Will Kel have the 5kg bags? So much easier to handle and store then 20kg.
  15. My boxer is a grazer too. Great choice of breed!!
  16. I tried and persisted with Canidae ALS grain free without luck. It was just to rich for my boxer and she constantly had an upset stomach. I bought my first bag of Black Hawk this weekend, fingers crossed.
  17. I can only speak for my own experience but Canidae ALS has been an absolute disaster for us. After two months Connie's stools are loose and runny and getting worse. Back to good old Nutro for me.
  18. Hmm there are a lot more negative experiences then I expected. Thanks for the feedback people.
  19. Thanks Flaves. I should have mentioned that they also get minced chicken frames or chicken necks with their kibble. Maybe reduce the dry a little and add a couple more necks? That may help with the loose poo Good luck I have tried a few foods and i am really happy with it, the dogs look great, hold condition really well and love eating it No harm giving it a go, I'll get a bag next time.
  20. Thanks Flaves. I should have mentioned that they also get minced chicken frames or chicken necks with their kibble.
  21. Yeah it is listed at 42%, which seems a bit excessive compared to Canidae's 34%. It seems to be the way things are going with the grain free foods at the moment.
  22. As mentioned in another thread I have been feeding Canidae ALS for around three months. My Boxer, Connie, loves in but the JRT, Zahra, turns her nose up at it most times. Both of their stools are quiet soft and have shown no signs of firming up. I have also noticed that Zahra seems to be scratching more. I am putting this done to spring at the moment. I am considering switching to Artemis Maximal when the time comes. Does anyone here have any opinions of experiences? I have done a search and there doesn't seem to be many people here that feed it.
  23. I started feeding Canidae ALS about three months ago. My Boxer loves it but the JRT turns up her nose most times and tends to scratch a bit. I have noticed that their stools are quite soft and don’t show any signs of firming up. When it is time for a new bag I am thinking of switching, most probably to Artemis Maximal.
