  1. Actually, this is what I've looked up on the topic: http://thedish.sitstay.com/2010/05/02/may-...complete-video/ I thought so.
  2. Oh god, I work with one of these people She has a Maltese and says she's going to use him as a stud because of the "cute white puppies" he will make. That, and she says she's getting one of them for free and her friend is selling the rest for $500. As if we don't have enough SWFs in the pound! I told her this and she's like "people always want Maltese, they're a very popular breed". I told her about all the complications that can arise from a dog giving birth and she was like "that's my friend's problem, not mine!" ;)
  3. Sounds like a crock to me. I think hanging a $5 bill on your dog's collar for bribing fleas to stay away might be a tad more efficient
  4. Maybe they thought it wasn't as important as Efron's facial hair?
  5. Freaking sweet mate!(What breed is he really?, looks like quite the pretty dog) He was a german shepherd corgi cross - being serious! He came to me as a rescue dog because he was an escape artist and was going to the pound otherwise. He stayed with me till he passed on at 9. And despite the long hair he never got matted. Absolutely gorgeous I've seen corgi/shep crosses and none of them look similar to each other, this was a rather pretty combo. Though gotta wonder how the hell a corgi impregnated a GSD (or the other way around for that matter). :D
  6. It's funny because I used to think that meant "lots of love" when I was a kid. I just hope the people he sent a text message to realized what he meant.
  7. Awesome compilation!!! How about a few more topics like crafts, or popular toys ratings, etc etc. You should add Uncle Albers/Great Barko to the foods list--I have heard amazing things, it's Aussie food, and it's CHEAP!

  9. Can't wait to see it, I'm very interested in that segment!
  10. Ahhh, alright! I never thought such a thing like that existed! Thank you for telling me :D One of my favorite breeds is the Aussie Shep (especially red merle, I think some of them are quite beautiful), and it's useful to know this advice if I ever get one in the future.
  11. Oh geez, I actually had one of these in real life. He was a cracker of a dog - looked like a GSD pup his entire life. His bark was a little high pitched but his poops were small! Photos, photos!

    Purchasing A Puppy

Awww Lappie pups, my breeder has some 9 week old lappies at the moment as well, they're so cute, like little fluffy teddy bears Oh no you're getting me worried, sas! I hope he'll be perfect for me anyways. He's going to be flying over here in just 6 weeks! Whee!!
  13. Colors in a breed have something to do with blindness? I've never heard that one before.
  14. Nooo, dem chickens have soul! You need to meet my flock at home And guys, haven't you heard of the movie "All Dogs Go To Heaven"?? ;)
  15. I want one of those dogs that are a mix between a german sheppard and a corgi.. I hear the benefits are they make excellent guard dogs but there's half as much pooping as a regular GSD's.
  16. I thought that rareness of a breed would have SOMETHING to do with the price but I found that wasn't the case with the breed I chose to purchase (swedish vallhund).. I mean their price wasn't 'cheap as chips', but there are much more common dogs selling for a whole lot more, e.g. french bulldogs, pugs, even some labradors! So I quickly had to get it out of my head that the rareness (like supply and demand) didn't have a lot to do with the price..

    Purchasing A Puppy

Aww that's awesome!!! I'm going to be meeting my puppy on the second of November... *__* So excited, now I even have a date to go off!
  18. http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/pet-enclos...46cm-per-panel/ This price isn't bad.
  19. Might be one here. Also some in the puppy pages too. But they would need to be trained, obviously. There are heaps of mature dogs available in other states though.. puppies generally cost more so perhaps the price of a mature, ready-trained dog flying in from another state would be less than the price of a puppy.
  20. http://www.zanzebern.com/ Click on "puppy plans"--there are puppies ready to go to new homes pretty much straight away apparently. http://www.bernese.com.au/PedigreeInfo.htm These guys are expecting a litter of puppies soon and taking puppy inquiries There should be a few more, if you're willing to wait a bit and transport them interstate. Personally, your breeder's terms make me go . I could never agree to something like that.
  21. Thanks sooo much for all the information, very useful!! We have an Aldi nearby that we're always pinching boxes from for nests for our chickens, I completely forgot that I could use them for the dog too lol! The cardboard isn't dangerous if the puppy chews and eats it, is it?
  22. Oh cool, Durack isn't that far away either I'm probably gonna have a chat with my breeder--already started buying things for my puppy, but things like food and grooming equipment.. I'll ask the breeder what works. A pin brush is a definite though.
  23. I thought squeakers could become dangerous if they come outside the toys? Maybe I'll have to encourage him to get interested in food-filled toys instead Yes, they can. As soon as the squeaker is removed, I use bribery to get it away from my dog. I don't leave him unsupervised with toys. Bribery works XD What about when you leave him alone and expect him to entertain himself? Does he have some toys for those times? Absolutely not. I have two dogs and they get along very well but I'd prefer there be no tears. Princess Mini is usually very amenable and gives up toys when Grumpy wants them but I'd rather not take the chance without me there to supervise. Oohh okay. See I'm only going to be getting one dog for now and I was wondering how to keep him entertained while I'm at school.
