  1. You know trying to convince me that jpg is better or just as good as png is like telling a person who likes white bread that they should have wholegrain instead. It's just a preference, am I allowed to have those? :D After much searching on the internet, I went back to the Canon Powershot G11. I like it but over my budget. More thinking on what to get, but I look at the sample images of most cameras and they either show them at a terribly unhelpful SUPER ZOOM size that is hard to judge unless you print it out, or an even more unhelpful normal-sized, but super compressed jpg image which has fuzzies all over the place so I don't know if it's the camera doing that or the jpg. And again I find myself floating back to the Olympus SP-600UZ, but that has the HUGE and inconvenient problem of batteries, I hate using AA batteries! It's like I'd rather stick with taking photos on my crappy Razr V3 phone than buy something and have it beat the camera phone in all aspects but potentially not live up to my expectations
  2. We have an area of the yard separated with chicken wire for our chickens, but I doubt for like the eight hours I'm at work like three days a week warrants the need for something like that. It's a bit overkill, especially since if I build the fence out of anything stronger than chickenwire, the chickens will fly over it. It's complicated; I'm just going to stick him in the makeshift playpen inside and figure out what to do when he gets older and can't stay inside the house anymore.
  3. Couldn't you leave the puppy in the yard? that way no mistakes can happen I don't trust a puppy unsupervised in my yard.. it's a chainlink fence, not a wooden one, and a small puppy could very possibly wriggle underneath the fence (luckily this won't be a problem once my dog is older). That, and I've read too many stories about stolen pups and so on--don't want my baby to get pinched! ;) Esky: I have that ebook, and the one that compliments it As well as puppies for dummies, grooming for dummies, dog training for dummies.. I'm a super dummy so I need all the help I can get
  4. Personally, if I am getting a puppy, I will definitely stay at home for 1-2 weeks. Just to make the whole transition easier for the puppy. Ah well that's good, more bonding time!
  5. Well that's a relief, I was wondering whether to start backing away from my job. But all the same, doesn't not being around for so long make it horrendously difficult to toilet train properly (and quickly) if you keep letting the dog have accidents in the house?
  6. 8-4?? Yikes! Correct me if I'm wrong DOLers as I've never had a dog before, let alone a puppy, but don't they usually require a LOT of attention during the first few months after you get them? I hope the second person in your household doesn't work (as much), so they can take care of the pup while you're away!
  7. Yeeeaah. I was wondering about this too when registering for puppy preschool. They said that the time between 8-12weeks is the best time to go there but I don't think Hugo would be fully protected until his second shot at 12 weeks. It's really confusing, I'm not sure what sort of information I'm being fed here.
  8. So correct me if I'm wrong.. the difference between a BYB and an ethical breeder is basically.. health testing? Is that just it? Because I heard someone say that there are BYBers on DOL, so it can't have anything to do with a prefix.
  9. Dammit, still can't figure out which camera to get Go to ebay and buy the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR for $250... Get a compact camera and a lithium battery.. but nothing comes with it. Go to that place I found and buy the Olympus on the first page for $260... Get a bulky camera and AA batteries but it comes with everything under the sun. I'm so conflicted!
  10. I gotta say, that was just awesome
  11. I dunno, the photo looked sort of professional to me when most of them look really amateur. If it's true you can't really tell, then I'm pretty much screwed I like quality and battery type--hate AA batteries.
  12. Oh well I do LIKE a HQ camera, but that Olympus shot of the flower on the first page looks really impressive to me so it's not like I'm completely anal about it. Priority is: Quality Battery type Compactness And all under $300 It shouldn't be unattainable, really!
  13. That's not an Akita Inu, is it?
  14. So many choices.. how am I ever gonna make a decision! :D
  15. Oh cool, that's very helpful, thanks! :D
  16. Maybe you have imageshack blocked on your PC for some reason?
  17. Nope, not Asian. Wrong continent entirely.
