  1. I thought it might have been Fable! Couldn't think of any other recent F names I love Viola especially! If we should ever get another girl, I really like Nell. There are a bunch of names I never got to use for my children that will probably become dog or cat names eventually
  2. Now I'm trying to figure out what your Lappie name was! I can only think of one it might be ... I'm so glad you love the name Joss Some people have said that it's not pretty enough - that's kind of why I like it. I like strong, masculine names for girls. And she's a toughie, she fits the name well. The other names we have on our boy dog list are Flynn (maybe less 'Finnish' than Finn?), Henry, Lloyd, Leonard, Bernard. I'm really into serious old man names for dogs (and cats..) :D Puhleeeease tell me more about where and who your Lappie is coming from! I think I am even less impatient when it comes to other people's new puppies
  3. hehe, he is a cute little thing I can't wait to see how his colouring turns out - especially the big white paws. The dog name thing is so tricky! It took us a couple of weeks to name Joss.
  4. Alright, here is a bit more about our new boy Link to photo: http://www.watersedgekennels.com/fl/index....1&Itemid=43 He's a black and white Lappie He's from the Herding Instinct's Herra Watersedge (imp SWD) x Ch. Watersedge Alias Anja litter and is 3 1/2 weeks old, so we still have another 7 odd weeks to wait, which will be really tough. Thanks to Melissa at Watersedge for entrusting us with this little guy, we cannot wait!! :D :D
  5. We did we did!! I'm just waiting for the breeder to give me the go-ahead with telling the world At this rate, I may have 6 or 7 Lappies very soon
  6. (And for a fair time after June too, I expect)
  7. We got our good news this morning I am pretty much beside myself with excitement and am likely to remain this way until June
  8. We should find out in the next couple of days which pup is ours, and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. As in checking my email every 30 seconds I am going to go MENTAL this weekend!
  9. Enzo is a dear! What does a screaming Iggy sound like? I don't think I've ever actually met one.
  10. Exciting!!!! We think so! Can't wait to find out which one is ours ;)
  11. We are back in this thread and crossing our fingers for a much happier result this time around, for us and for the bitch/breeder. Early days yet!
  12. All of our animals have/had human names. I truly love bland human names for animals - if we get a boy sometime, I like Simon, Dennis, Kevin, Graeme, Stephen. I have more trouble coming up with female names that fit the bill - we had Margaret, maybe Cheryl (these are both names of my aunties, as it happens ). Our next girl will probably be Freya.
  13. Our girl wasn't cheap, but she was worth every cent. She's perfect in every way - if I had known she was so brilliant, I would have paid 5 times as much for her As some PPs have said, price is the last question I would ask a breeder.
  14. Envy is beautiful! And Tess is an absolute darling I believe our pup could be born anytime from next week onward, so I have my (very impatient) fingers crossed. And my name hat on
  15. Ooooh, another pup? Same breed or are you looking at a lab? Same breed! OH would never, ever get another breed anymore, he is completely smitten with Lappies
  16. So they are not selling anything not even an idea? No, that's not what I mean. They are buying visibility and conversation, and probably making adopting a rescue dog "sexier", which is not a brand-specific message. It's a pretty risque ad for a shelter (or any charitable organisation) and that's a really quick and often cheap way to temporarily raise the profile of an enterprise, but doesn't generate lasting brand affinity. I understand what you mean now. Oh good, I'm not sure I do!
  17. Joss attracts attention from all kinds of people - kids think she's fluffy and cute, women think she's friendly and adorable, men think she's tough looking (haha!). When we're at the park, it's her speed that gets people's attention, especially other dog owners. She totally runs rings around their working dogs

  19. It took me a really long time to remember who those Bankworld ads where for (ANZ, by the by!). It's a great strategy, but a shitty execution. The RSPCA ad is purely for shock and novelty value and has nothing to do with the dog at all. They haven't used a cross-breed because there would be no gag. Now people are talking about it, and that's its purpose. They have the ad with the dear bandaged animals for adoption drives, and this Afghan ad is to promote and generate discussion. That's what viral advertising is all about. I doubt it has very much to do with promoting the brand. And that's okay, it's just another component of the overall integrated marketing strategy.
  20. Eeee! So tiny He is gorgeous Waiting to hear on a litter down here ... little while to go yet.
  21. Just lurking ;) WA, Halo is beautiful! All the best kirst!
  22. Joss was 100% unfazed by the fireworks! Neighbours let some off a couple of doors down, and she couldn't be bothered getting up She's never made a peep during thunderstorms either. Very relaxed dog.
