love your dog's little black ear! And yes, at the moment I'm pretty sure I'll be calling my pup Ziggy. I suppose that could change when I see exactly what mine looks like, but I really like the name, so it'll probably stick!!

My Puppy was born Yesterday!!!! I don't know which will be mine yet, but I know it will be one of the 4 girls that were born!!! Here's 'Casey' the tired mum! I can't wait to visit them!! And Now I can let myself start to actually buy puppy things

How good is White on White? I've only ever used the purple shampoo I mentioned before and sometimes some whitening grooming powder, but my dog does tend to retain a slight discolouration on her chest and around her mouth. On the site 'show dog store' it says the shampoo has a "colour deposit system" So does anyone know if it works significantly better than other whitening/brightening products? I'm not a dog shower either by the way, It's just that as it takes about 2 hours to wash the fluff ball, so I try to make the washing really count!

I'm same as you Parrotpea, I had a pup lined up, but have changed to a closer breeder. I Just wasn't sure that the first pup's parents had been DNA checked or properly x-rayed and while I'm not going to be showing my dog, I do want her to be as healthy as possible! The litter is due in about a week! I really hope they do get a girl in there that I can have!

My border get's washed in the shower mostly. Even with the warm water she hates it! She gives me the sad eyes and that look that is just asking how I could ever do something like this to her! I've never really thought about how often I wash her before, I suppose once every 6 weekss in colder weather and more in warm weather. She always gets a wash and some whitening powder before a party. It takes about 2 hours from first splash to final drying, and I'm about to get another border! I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment

hehe, love the bit about the postman! My girl Gwyn is pretty bad with postmen too (I just had to go out and stop her barking then!) She's a complete sook with us, and once we've introduced her to visitors she just want's to be patted and have her back scratched, but when strangers come to the gate she looks really ferocious! Staffygirl, It's 100% your decision as too how you bring up your boy and your dog. And in most cases i'm sure everything works out just fine. Personally, I would never trust my dog with small children (mostly because the kids over the road don't realise that she's alive and that grabbing her face will stress her out!) but also because I would simply never trust to the dog behaving it's self. Accidents happen, the other day the 2 yr old kid over the road grabbed Gwyn near her eyes and Gwyn whipped her head around and knocked her over in the process. She wasn't being aggressive, and the kid wasn't trying to make her angry, but it still happened and I think my heart missed a beat! And this all happened while Gwyn was on a lead and I was crouching down next to her trying to get the kid's to pat her gently on the back. Basically, a dog is always a dog and in respect to it's behaviour should be treated as such.

I give my B/W Border fish oil as well, I think it does help keep the coat dark a bit. Mostly by just reducing the amount of dry hair around her tail! I also use a sort of purple shampoo on her to whiten her whites which makes her black look darker in comparison, But you can also get a shampoo specifically to darken blacks from the same shop on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Kelco-Black-Star-Color...#ht_3407wt_1141

These are the photo's the breeder sent me of her hehe, she looks like she's been pulled in from playing in something nice and grubby and is a bit miffed about the impromptu photo shoot! :rolleyes:

I found a breeder 30 minutes from my home who has a litter of border pups, I've asked via email to buy one but she wants to wait to see if she'll be keeping any of them herself. The suspense is killing me!!!!! Another 4 or 5 weeks (pups will be about 7 weeks then) before I know if I can get one! And I haven't even seen the pups yet! There are 3 females, so she'll probably have one she can't keep but I keep worrying that they'll be sold to someone else because I don't have a definite answer on if I can get one if she doesn't keep them! Anyway, I have't gone on a shopping spree yet, due to not knowing exactly if I'll be getting the dog. Just bought this cool name tag, hand made with watch parts... So hard not to start buying toys and collars and things!!!
