I don't know anything about PH, but this comment is inaccurate. Dogs are allowed to be at foster carers - they aren't hidden. The permit is for dogs on the property. I understand you have issues with them and if only 50% of what is said on here is true then they need some serious work done (and not just donations, but mgt and processes etc). However, let's stick to the facts... They are hidden when she is writing on the facebook pages to keep it quite that they have animals in their homes. What rubbish. Why you get pleasure out of writing such inflamatory posts is something I do not understand. She has never written that (to keep it quiet that people have animals in their homes) and Pets Haven is an open site. You are being very dishonest saying such things. -

I can't foster, but is there anything that I could do to help? This is so cruel for them to this right before Christmas. Are you on Facebook? There is a petition going around or google Pet's haven and you will find the petition. -

Victimisation by Council??? Maybe the big players in the puppy farm world are not happy with recent protests. I am sure you will agree BIG $$ (or even little business) such as council go hand in hand. What do the puppy farmers have to fear ? they are the one's with the big council approved sheds, approved for large numbers and paying councils the $$ to operate. Conspiracy theory anyone ? You got the bit about paying $$$$ to council to operate right. What about the times council have approved inappropriate places that were horror puppy farms? -

I have just received the startling news that our friends at Pet's Haven Animal Shelter have been closed down by their local council. If anyone is in a position to assist them with temporary foster care for a cat or dog please contact them immediately.

Warmists Hate Not Only Humans, But The Dogs That Love Them

FFS!!!! Some people have WAY too much time on their hands. I don't even believe all the carbon footprint/carbon swapping rubbish. Look at what China and India are doing. Even if everyone in Australia got rid of their dogs it would make no difference. What rubbish. What annoys me is these people get paid good money to come up with this crap. Oxygen thieves! -
RESPONSE FROM JOE HELPER (thought you might be interested) Dear The law in the Code of Practice for the management of dogs and cats in shelters and pounds is more than 20 years old so its important that this year we decided to review the Code so we could take the necessary steps to ensure the great work that animal foster carers do can continue. This review of the Code will be presented to the next Agriculture Minister after the election. What we will do if re-elected is make sure that foster carers are recognised under a new Code and no longer have to be registered as a domestic animal business. It will mean foster carers can continue doing their great work but also include minimum standards to ensure all animals are protected. Labor will also end the 28-day holding rule that currently exists in shelters and pounds that means animals are euthanased when there could be an opportunity to find them a new home. Instead of a time limit, it will move to a case-by-case individual assessment basis and we're confident that this will mean more animals find new homes and less animals are euthanased. This is all part of a comprehensive package that Labor has put forward to protect animals and this can be found by visiting http://www.vic.alp.org.au/news-events-medi...animal-welface/ Joe Helper Minister for Agriculture
