  1. Who are you writing to?. PM me their email details and what you have written and I will write as well.
  2. I read about this elsewhere. Thanks for posting here Poor family Poor dog Another council running roughshod over people. Three years is way too long. Not sure if people are aware of council gripe http://councilgripe.com/
  3. Of course. That is what makes it funny
  4. A dog walked into a telegram office, took out a blank form and wrote, "Woof woof woof, woof woof, woof woof woof woof." The clerk examined the paper and politely told the dog, "There are only nine words here. You could send another 'Woof' for the same price." The dog says "But that wouldn't make any sense."
  5. All I know was all his friends thought it was very funny I was taking the pics and also encouraged me to send to the local papers. After I started, others followed. EVeryone thought it was funny and his friends said he would not care. In hindsight, I should have left my card, so I could send him a copy. It has been in a lot of the country shows (photography section) with my name on it so chances are he knows.
  6. Yep. He looked like he was guarding his sleeping master. It was a lovely sight. Took another pic from the angle of the pillow dog too. All very relaxed in each others company!

    Poor Roxy

Tend to agree with this. And if the dog had such a horrible neglectful owner, I think it deserves a second chance and if that takes time, so be it. I know some wont agree and I am not going to argue the point
  8. Sorry. Silly me. It was a cat I read about a few months back http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8658327.stm
  9. ha ha ha Yes. This is weird and disturbing. The worrying thing is I read it somewhere else a few months back
  10. I've not read all the comments but my two cats love Roo meat. I buy the Fussy Cat sections and sometimes human kangaroo meat which I separate into sections and put in the freezer.
  11. Well, welcome to DOL I've never used an ignore or block function .... just tend to skip over the boring bits really. I am not sure but there could be something in the site rules that prohibits the asking of age .... some people are very sensitive. Souff Thanks for the welcome. I've worked out the block/ignore.
  12. The extra rubbish that has been added and the attack on Mita were out of line. So is the implication that all vegetarians vote green So is the implication that all people that vote green are vegetarians!
  13. Shortstep, How old are you? This is a very interesting discussion, but for all your childish comments. I am new to this forum. Can someone tell me if there is an ignore or block function I can use? I can't handle reading any more rubbish comments. Mita - I am finding your contributions very interesting. Only about a third of the way but don't want to keep reading the same silly rot from one poster in particular.
  14. no they are not "answerable" to the minister. they must submit an annual "report" to the minister. there is a heap of difference in that. from what i have personally learned that report does not necessarly mean it has to contain the truth either and even if this is pointed out, and i have been in the position to point out what was reported to the minister was in a court of law would be classed as perjury, the minister chose to ignore and end all further correspondance. so dont go holding your breath too long waiting for any accountability comming from there in your lifetime Hmmmm. Now why doesn't this surprise me (note I worked many years for the Government)
  15. In at least 1 state of Australia the RSPCA can enter premises without a warrant. The police in that same state must get a warrant before they can enter the same premises. Yet, unlike the police, there is no Ombudsman or Tribunal to whom the public can go to about RSPCA matters, and no ICAC for the RSPCA to answer to. Souff In fact they can enter if they believe ( have evidence) that am offence is being commited under the AWA ( Police who are General Inspectors can enter premises under the AWA as well for the functions covered under that act. It hasnt been tested on whether the RSPCA can be accountable to the ombudsman ( IN WA) at least, so far This is all very interesting. I will be following this topic, especially the issues raised in the last few posts.
  16. How has this "certainly put multiple animals lives in danger now"???????????? Please explain Now you seem to have jumped on the bandwagon that PH are wrong in so many ways. If there has been overcrowding, paperwork amiss etc (as alleged) how does this IMPACT on rescue groups doing the RIGHT thing or having animals released from pounds??????? Please explain. I would have thought COUNCIL would treat each rescue place on its merits. NO??
  17. Very interesting to read this. Thanks for posting. I think they should do it for kittens as well
  18. An update from Pet's Haven for people who are thinking of them and supporting them http://www.petshaven.com.au/?p=2194
  19. to start shuffling them around out of phblic view during a council investigation IS hiding them. As you know the council came without warning. The fostering was taking place before the council came along as I am sure you know. She was given warning.. A letter & 2 phone calls.. That is not the information I have. I am talking about the recent visit yesterday.

  21. So she wants to be contacted via Email rather than Facebook. Big deal! Every shelter I know has animals in FOSTER HOMES. It is nothing unusual at all. Hardly "hiding" them The reality is that there are more animals than homes for them so people doing rescue work do their bit to help each other. It seems like this thread is mostly filled with nasty people with no community spirit. The way some of you have responded makes me wonder if you are puppy farmers.
