  1. When i picked him up the vet said no walks for 10 days, not jumping, no running, no swimming, no playing in the dirt.. Very strict Our back yard is pretty big so he has been walking around there and the house.. Yesterday i took him out, we walked up and down the street He was happy with that!
  2. There are dogs in the neighborhood that bark all night and cats that walk around back yards all night but it never used to bother him, we looked to see if there are any possums in the trees but couldn't see any, however the trees are not near the back fence.. It worries me.. We might get another fence and see how he goes.
  3. Hi guys, I have an 8 month old male bull terrier, he got desexed 8 days ago. Since he has been frustrated because he has to wear an E collar at night and while we are not able to keep an eye on him. Also he has been spending more time in his crate then usual, he hasn’t been out for walks and when he does zoomies around the back yard, we turn around and walk away so he stops. He must be confused… the stitches come out on Monday! And every thing will be back to normal (fun active games, walks, jogs, etc). There is one thing I’m concerned about, he never used to be a barker and would hardly ever bark. I don’t know if it’s any thing to do with the operation but he has become very territorial in the last few days, every time he goes outside at night, he starts barking and growling at the fence, every time he walks past the back door, he runs outside and carries on with barking and growling. When we call him back he usually comes back and we ask him to sit and calm down but he starts growling and barking again and bolts to the back fence again. Maybe he can smell the cats over the fence? He has never been socialised with a cat before. I'm not sure how to stop him from doing that? (by the way he only does it at night)

    Humping

Hi Guys, i have an 8 month old Bull Terrier. Recently he started to hump, people's leg (only friends we see once a week), other dogs and a car seat we have in the shed. He is getting desexed on Thursday and i was wondering if the behaviour will stop. He has been going to obedience classes once a week for over 3 month now and is going really well. When he humps he doesn't listen at all when asked to leaveit and i have to pull him off and ask him to sit and stay or go in his bed/outside.. What would be the best way to stop him from humping? Hopefully it will stop once he is desexed as many people say. (some say it won't)

  11. Spudd is ok now we had a big Friday night, went to Grange beach yesterday with his Jack Russell girlfriends Thanks every one for your suggestions, the vet said it could be any thing, he has been eating cat's poo and chewing his wooden kennel even tho i sprayed it with Tru-Blue Stop-Chew.. maybe he had a bad reaction to it. I also spoke to his breeder and she asked maybe the neighbours are feeding him every now and then.. she also said that Hill's have changed their recipe and the vet said same thing, so we decided to slowely change to Royal canin.. he loves it!
  12. I have a 6 months old puppy who stay outside for a few hours during the day. The neighbours are usually home during the day and I was wondering if there is a nice way to ask them if they feed our dog sometimes. We have only been living at that house for 4 or so months and have only quickly spoke to the neighbours twice. She offered lemon from her lemon tree and we said “no thanks” nicely. The other day i saw her husband and he said Hi, i just asked him if Spudd barks at all and he said no... The fence is pretty high and if they do feed him they would have to throw the food over the fence. Their cloth line is right by the fence so Spudd can see half of their head when they get close to the fence. I was just wondering because he has had diarrhea twice. Last Saturday and yesterday. (We took him to the vet, he is fine.)

I found a few websites that have gorgeous martingales but they are all in the UK and USA and shipping is more expensive then the collar itself ;)

  21. Thanks guys, i'm at Holden Hill I went on Para's website and just got off the phone to one of the trainers there Spudd is only 5 month old therefore he can't do flyball or agility yet, they said he has to be 12 month old. so will have to patiently wait and keep training thanks :D
  22. Hi Guys, i was just wondering if any of you know of any flyball clubs in Adelaide? i would like to take Spudd, he would love it
  23. I love the Ezydog collars.. the poodles got new ones for Christmas! I just got Kuma an EzyDog collar and have their limited slip one on back order. It's awesome... The neoprene is better on his ruff fur than others. Can those who don't like them explain what they don't like? Just curious... I was considering ordering a bungee lead but got the soft trainer instead, by the sounds of it I made the right decision. Again the neoprene handle is soft on my fingies! I shouldn't have said i don't like the EzyDog collars (in the picture below) because i never actually tried them but i don't think the clips would be strong enough and could brake easily if you accidently step on it? I love the colours and that they are waterproof tho.
  24. I agree some people buy those leads because they were too lazy to train their dogs to heel and stay close on a loose lead or tried to train but with no luck and they buy it because it makes it easier to walk their pulling dogs, the dogs still pull but it is easier on people's arms/shoulders. I think if the dog is trained to heel and stay close, the bungy like lead would be perfect for running and push bike riding. as I said before, i have put it away and am training Spudd using a standard lead
