  1. I've has this thread before and asked for sites you may know of to buy water proof coats, I have a polarfleece warm coat but wanted a water proof one to go over the top when its raining, someone told me to look at The Wolfs Den which has the perfect coat BUT after a number of emails and text messages to her mobile she said she was at a dog show and is back end of April I still have had no reply so am giving up on them so with winter coming (although the past few days have been warm) I am wanting to find a rain coat so I can still go for our walks when its wet, all the dog coats I have found have lining and as I said above I already have great polarfleece warm coats they are just not water proof so I'm looking for a unlined rain coat to put over top on wet days/nights, does anyone know of any? :)
  2. Hello as you know I feed my dogs raw meat, but I want to know what veggies to add? I have read through the thread in here but cant find a list of what veggies to add..... I also feed whole egg (shell and all) once a week, sardines, raw chicken necks and carcass and I mix up in the food processor raw veg, but I'd like to know whats good and what to be careful of? I buy bulk raw chopped beef and freeze it in 2kgs lots and I only add the veg in every second meat I take out the freezer which would get roughly two meals from as my cats also eat raw meat aswell :) I feed every second lot of meat so they are not getting to much veg, this has worked for my two for the last 8 years I also give fruit sometimes when we are eating it, but can anyone advise me on which veggies are good to add?
  3. Hi I did a thread here asking about dog coats and I was put onto some great doggy coat sites which all where great but the Wolf's Den had what I'm looking for which is unlined water proof coats as I already have polar fleece warm coats but just want something unlined for when its raining or damp in winter...now my problem is.... Wolf Den's web page saids to click on the colour coat you want for sizes and price....but the page is not working so I sent emails and even called the mobile number and sent a text.... I got a text back saying he/she will check the page and get in touch with me but never did...so I really want prices on these coats as I'd like to buy two, has anyone else had the same trouble contacting Wolf's Den? or is it just me? I've emailed called and texted... how have you contacted them? Or is there anywhere else that does unlined water proof coats...I also like the reflector strip as its often dark by the time we get home from our walks :) I've googled searched and looked on ebay and gumtree but the coats are always lined Sorry just saw that Wolf Den is away so does anyone know of other unlined coats?
  4. Been reading some threads about large dog breeds being bad..... not going to name breeds and I'm not pointing at threads so please dont shoot me down just wanted to say that in my opinion its in 'most' case's the owner of dogs that dont train them or dont give the dog proper socialization as a puppy...we have dogs in our area that live in their back yards 24/7 and almost take the fence off when you walk past so cant always blame the dog....anyway I just wanted to share my 'Amstaff' and poodle and cats that live together with NO problems, even out on walks they are well behaved dogs..... I'll only post afew pics or I wont stop  This pic you can see my Amstaff eating raw meat (so its not made her want blood as some think  ) with one of our cats that always shares her dinner... click on pic for a closer look :) And here sleeping with my poodle.. I just wanted to say that.... 'All dogs deserve a home but not All homes deserve a dog'
  5. I added a egg with shell tonight and they both eat all their dinner so no problem there I broke the shell up into smaller bits so Ill do that once a week..thank you :D
  6. Sorry my first post should have read..... Hello I feed my dogs raw meat AND chicken wing tips and carcass, i do feed raw beef :)
  7. Hello I feed my dogs raw meat chicken wing tips and carcass, they also get dinner scraps when we have any :) but I have been putting carrots, broccoli, green beans, and cauliflower (not always the same vegies) in a food processor and chop them up finely and mix in with the raw meat.....I also once a week mix in a tin sardines, am I on the right track and can anyone advise me on whatelse to add....my dogs are healthy and the vet commented on how good our older girl is but would like to hear what else I can add :)
  8. No no NOT to leave on while home in the yard I mean to wear when out as I said he is walked in a harness as he is trained, I just liked the look of the fancy collar when out walking etc.....no I dont leave chocker chain collars on my dogs when just bumming around at home
  9. I would need 14 inch, Cody is trained and I dont need to use a lead as he walks past dogs and cats on the street and stays beside me, but I still do use a lead and harness so thats why I wants a fancy looking collar just for his tags to go on so doesnt matter if its cheap as it will just be like a necklace not for a lead to be clipped on :D and what colour do you have tommyspazz?
  10. Does anyone know where to buy one of these braided chain collars? I can only find one in dinodirect but its only in one size.
  11. Hi again......does anyone know of anyone that makes unlined rain coats? I like the look of the ones wolf den makes but after emails and calls to them they have not replied so I need to look else where, I have found a lovely lady that is making warm polarfleece coats but I wanted a water proof coat unlined to go over the top on wet raining days, Ive been searching the web but can only find warm coats which is not what I want, so does anyone make coats or know of any sites?
  12. I emailed Wolf's Den about their rain coat but its been afew days and still no reply is this normal? and has anyone got one of their rain coats the coloured one?
  13. Thanks everyone I've had a look and contacted all the sites above, now waiting for replies some nice coats out there
  14. Yes please, if they have a webpage so I can have a look would be great if not a contact so I can get some prices would be good, thank you :D
  15. Hi does anyone makes or know someone that makes dog coats? I have a odd size dog so buying doggy coats from stores is a nightmare
  16. hahahahahaha I love that pic of pippa Id love to see more
  17. You can always rescue one. I have had five males and two bitches. I currently have three rescue dogs - two bitches and a male. Schnauzers are beautiful, very active, great trainable temperament, forever the clown :D , sometimes mischevious, affectionate and adorable. All my dogs have bonded well to me, so don't believe there is any difference between male or female. Yes I have actually giving this some thought....can you give me more info on rescuing one?
  18. I will only buy from a breeder all my dogs past and present where all from a breedeer not pet shop or back yard breeders but in saying that I was fooled when I got my mini poodle (pic in avatar) as his pedigree papers say he is a red toy poodle but he kept growing into a large miniature poodle and is a tad 'over' the size of a miniature so you cant always believe what their papers say anyway thats another story  but my point is yes I believe in only buying from breeders and am in no hurry to wait for the right furbaby :D but am seriously looking at a miniature schnauzer we have always had females and my poodle is my first male dog but I find him more sooky and cant do anything without our other dog where she is happy to come for some love then go do her own thing, so Im tossing up which sex to go for next :) meanwhile I'll keep doing my homework.
  19. Thank you everyone, I think its better to hear from owners rather than just read comments from websites :D as you can see from my avatar I have a mini poodle (he was meant to be a toy but thats another story ) so I can do my own clipping and have been looking at the mini schnauzer for awhile now and have spoken to a couple of breeders to do as much homework as I can, our kids are grown up now and hubby and I do about 4 to 6 km walk (for about an hour) per night so this breed would fit well into our way of life, we have two other dogs currently that are elderly but both well trained furkids :) Also Ive found the mini schnauzers to be hard to find, not many puppies
  20. Hello All I tried to post this on the miniature schnauzer topic but it come up with the list is closed due to not being used in over 365 days so I'll post here...hope its ok ..... Hello I have been doing my homework on this breed and have come across this question many times with different answers so thought I would ask it here..... which sex is better? well my personal question is more which sex out of the males or females are more happy to stay by your side and which is easier to bond with? :) I have both male and females dogs of different breeds and find my male to be very sooky where the female is happy to do her own thing.
  21. Hello everyone :D I have a miniature poodle although his pedigree papers say he is a 'Toy' poodle and I bought as a toy but he stands at 14" at the shoulder anyway I had a wonderful lady I meet on here years ago that use to clip him for me but she was 30 minutes drive and I was having trouble getting over there so decided to buy clippers and do him my self which Ive been doing the past few years and doing well but today my clippers died in the middle of his clip so I had to finish his with scissors so not happy anyway my question is what are the best clippers Ive currently got Wahl show pro clippers but they always seem to have trouble getting through his coat as he has more a soft coat rather than a wiry fur so can anyone help Also is there anyone in the south east that knows a good groomer until I can buy more clippers??
