  1. I've never come across that before, how unusual, interesting to see if anyone knows what causes it.
  2. I can't add anything to what Tassie has said, my heart goes out to you.
  3. Sounds like a trip to the vet is a good idea. I've only had trouble with anal glands once, a German Coolie i had. His were infected and smelled like rotten fish. Absolutely dreadful. He wasn't scooting, poos and everything else good. Needed a course of anti-biotics.
  4. Just re-read my post, badly phrased, does sound like i'm saying it's because he's a Toy Poodle that he can't eat bones. Not at all, it is just him. Very loath to add anything new to his diet, in his water or food. Have been told the Petzlife does a great job, no need to brush, which has to be an exageration. However it may be helpful in conjuction with brushing. It is costly $34+ for 2 ounces. Don't want to waste my money, would like to know if others have found it useful or not first. Thanks Ron' Am going to try it, have placed an order. Should receive it next week.

  6. Why? I have known a couple of toys and they loved their bones Hi, He can't eat bones as he has alwys had a problem with digesting them. Becomes constipated and passes them through in large pieces. Tried all sorts of bones, chicken wings and necks etc, always ended up at the vets with a sick boy. Tried various diets including raw, always had problems untill he went on Royal canin sensitive dry kibble and wet food, since then no probs. So rely on tooth brushing daily. Still gets a small amount of tartar though.
  7. Hi, Often browse the forum and wondering if anyone has used the Petzlife tartar removal spray. If so did you find it a benefit and do you know where it can be purchased here in Aus. Already brush our teeth daily, but still get formation of some tartar. Being a Toy Poodle cannot eat bones. Don't want to keep having his teeth cleaned professionaly each year, as the anasthetic is a bit rough on him. Maybe someone has used another product which actually works, in conjuction with a dail brush of course. Thanks
  8. A friends dog snaffled up an old crabshell full of sand on the beach 2 days ago Results later than night was an inpacted bowel, visit to the vet, and a $1,200 bill 2 days later. Her dog is just fine now. She didn,t have any pet insurance, and i was wondering how many people actually have Pet health Insurance and which insurance companies people found to be the best.
  9. Apologies, somehow posted my reply wrongly. Two companies, both should have the Breed select food. Vet-n-Pet Direct and Vet Products Direct. Both good online companies. Have been using them for 2 years.
  10. Hi, my boy is on Royal Canin can and kibble, i take a can of food cut into small pieces (as small as you want) and bake at 180 degrees, turning the pieces once. Makes a large bag of treats, which are firm to handle, non messy, but not to hard. Can be broken into even smaller pieces when baked. He loves them, tastes different as they are baked. :D Never buy store treats or give any other form of treat. Started doing this as he has a sensitive stomach and this way never gets anything which could upset that, also is cheap.
