  1. Thanks for all your replies. Of course today she is having an extra good day, walking around the yard more and even having a little bark with her son. But I know some not so good days will come. I guess we have decided as there is no pain, she is eating and drinking and getting around on her own steam and not messing at night that she is not ready to leave us yet. But not looking forward to making that final decision in the future. We will have to appreciate the time she has left but will not let her suffer. Thanks again.

  2. I have a sweet 17 year old girl who is quite deaf and also her sight is fading. She is still getting herself around the yard with I suspect the help of the other dogs, is eating well and still no accidents at night. We give her anti inflammatory tablets so she has no pain from what we can tell. What bothers me is she has lost her spark and sometimes especially at night can appear a little disorientated. I obviously love her and don't want to pull the plug unless her quality of life is poor. But how do I know? I am interested in others opinion on this topic.

  3. I have a lovely two year old small terrier who is a very friendly boy BUT can get very excited and over the top when he is with people . He also is very unsettled inside and gets excited and runs around and takes ages to settle. Does anyone know of a natural remedy that helps excitable dogs settle. Not keen on using drugs etc. any ideas would be appreciated.

  4. I have a young dog that is hopeless on the stack in the ring and have been told I should use show stackers to help him. I have used my sisters stackers once and he seemed to respond quite well. What is the best way to use these in order to get the best outcome? Any tips appreciated.

  5. Of course I was not suggesting judges cannot congratulate friends on a great win. I have had judges congrats me on occasions . I just feel it does effect your decision in whether you show under them when you see comments like " and so you should of won.. You have the best ( of that bred) etc.. But overall I still believe must judges are honest and judge the dog on the day,

  6. I have been noticing more and more judges openingly commenting on people's dogs and their wins on such forums as Facebook and other online forums. Should judges but openly supporting certain peoples dogs? I have already worked out who certain judges would probably put up. What do others think?

  7. My heart goes out to you. I lost my lovely girl 7 years ago from cancer and still think of her every day. Spoil her during the time you have with her and lots of photos. There will be plenty of tears but hopefully the memories you have with her now will create some smiles too in the future. Hugs to you both.

  8. You can try these as well http://www.provizorinternational.com/australia.html http://www.provizorinternational.com/the-novaguardtrade.html

My girl hated the Elizabethan collar. It was too wide and because the ears were inside the cone, the sound was amplified. With the novaguard, she freely moved around and the extra length mean she could not turn around and lick the wound or remove the stitches.

    regards
