  1. If she had a season at 12 months, she would be due to have her pups had she been mated. Some bitches go off their food at this time and this could be the reason for the food refusal. Even though she actually isn't in whelp her hormones are telling her that she has/is about to have puppies.
  2. Plus you show your dogs don't you, I remember you at the Royal last year. I would be looking for a premium food for them, I feed Eagle Pack and would recommend it to anyone. Excellent product.
  3. Personally I wouldn't feed it, the first two ingredients are rice and rice bran and it also contains soyabean meal which I wouldn't feed to dogs under any circumstances. I'm sure there are some on this forum that have good results with it, but I definitely wouldn't give it to my dogs.
  4. Well DobermanDave I hope you're better informed when it comes to female humans because they also have a little tiny penis looking thing..................oops, best we don't go there!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Moderator Alert!!!!! Pornography is being posted to these forums!!!!! We are all shocked and horrified!!!!!
  6. You ARE joking, right? Well I guess maybe not! Go check out some boy dogs, I can assure you that there is a very noticeable difference LOL!
  7. Personally I wouldn't feed pet mince to my dogs and I don't think they'd eat it if I did. I have noticed that some people on these forums are feeding it and obviously they have found good suppliers, but IMO the majority of pets mince is rubbish. I have even seen it artificially coloured with food dye to make it look more like meat. Most of it is 95% fat and it also contains preservative. If you have fed a poor quality pets mince to your dog I'm not surprised that it has upset him, especially if you've suddenly switched his diet. It is far better to do these things slowly to give the digestive system time to adjust. Some dogs can deal with a sudden change in diet, but most can't and animal nutritionists always recommend that any changes are made gradually.
  8. I use Eagle Pack and highly recommend it, it's an excellent product.
  9. I agree with Showdog, I never sedate dogs before flying.
  10. I notice in a another topic that you wish to show and breed GSD's, well I'd like to point out that unless you work hard on your attitude you are very unlikely to be successful. I sense from your posts that you are quite young (I could be wrong of course), that you are very keen and that you genuinely love dogs. These are all positive things and you are to be commended for them. However you also come across as an over confident, self righteous '5 minute expert' with pre-conceived ideas which you have absolutely no intentions of changing regardless of what advice you receive to the contrary. Breeding and showing dogs is a HUGE subject which takes years of apprenticeship and you never stop learning. The fact that you have owned a puppy for a few months and attended a few obedience classes means absolutely nothing. Some of the people on these forums have owned, trained, bred and shown dogs for years, they offer good advice that they have tested for themselves and I suggest that you sit back and listen and learn instead of acting as if you already know everything. This is not meant to be a nasty post, I am simply trying to help you. You have all the hallmarks of a good dog person, but George, you just gotta lose that attitude!
  11. Eagle Pack is the best by far IMO. They get 1 cup per day and lots of raw food as well. I don't like Supercoat, Bonnie or Science Diet.
  12. Hi Birni, I have had a dog with lymphosarcoma, you will find that the cortisone treatment works very well, as you have already noticed it makes the dog very hungry and thirsty and he will probably also put on weight over time. Cortisone does have some side effects when used over a long period, but a lot depends on how much you can decrease the dosage whilst still maintaining its efficacy. A friend of mine currently has a dog suffering from this disease and he is still well nine months after the initial diagnosis. However in his case the condition was picked up very early and this does make a difference in the prognosis. Enjoy your dog each day and try not to think too much of the future, you will know by the look in his eyes when his time has come. My heart goes out to you at this terrible time.
  13. Unika, aren't your dogs just baby puppies? I might be wrong, but haven't you just purchased two baby cav puppies? I think I remember you saying that you've just started showing them
