  1. Forgot to say I've fenced off the small garden , checked the pavers for possum poo, sprayed fence top with SCAT. my husband is going to put some spikes along fence to interrupt movement near our yard. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  2. Ok replies to all queries , not sure how to reply individually on tapatalk. Before I got jasper( 2011) Charlie was on a food made by the BARF but I chunkier type and this was ok but was too far to go when I ran out. My groomer used to stock it but stopped. I can't remember which biscuits he had. Tried some z something for sensitive stomach but he pooed everywhere. Then. royal canin, advantage, black hawk Then few months on black hawk lamb and rice but I thought they seemed extra thirsty and Jasper was scratching a lot. Switched to holistic fish. It was ok. But i was still looking for alternatives. Night time was chicken necks but jasper gulps them down without chewing and Charlie was bringing up bits of bone. He had a barium because he always had a tender tummy. It showed food moved slowly but caecum enlarged. A prior blood test showed liver enzyme was high. After medication it went down by half but haven't given milk thistle as I should. Blood test before Christmas showed the liver issue and I often think if his digestion is upset , bile or something might go into his stomach and the upset his bowel. I have had IBS and that's what he's like. Few good weeks then something sets him off. When they have flagyl they pick up straightaway. I took a sample Saturday morning and she tested for giardia, few other things. Result was the tape worm eggs. I use interceptor spectrum not sentinel but believed it treats tapeworm. Just don't understand how it could be that they had it 2 1/2 weeks ago too. I had forgotten my June dose because I needed to buy a new one and didn't leave the box on bench as a reminder. So they did go from 30 may till mid July without. That's when vet gave drontal and I bought more interceptor and hence gave it 16 August. Perhaps it didn't kill all. He has always had a vomit about 2 days after worming or flea treatment. Error. I don't use Advantix , I use frontline but not since summer. He has no fleas , never scratches. After last bout of jelly poo and flagyl vet said add pumpkin or sweet potato to his chicken/ rice so did that plus small amount HAIR BALL CONTROL BISCUITS. I really didn't ask why. But I did notice if I gave Charlie only biscuits he did a yellow vomit later that day. So I only mixed some biscuits in. I tried the canidae fish ones once but then he pooed everywhere in the laundry. In himself he's ok. Usually if he's off he walks slowly, tail down, long face, back to bed. But he's chasing jasper and running round with ball. Just still pooing sloppy puddles. I'm giving ensal am / pm. He's supposed to have his blood test in the morning for his liver. I know he might have worm eggs but I suspecting an underlying bowel or stomach issue. Colitis?? IBS?? Then the vet assistant on the phone yesterday said I might want to try stem cell something. That really was the final straw. Today for breakfast : chicken/rice/ sweet potato/ BISCUITS. Mixed together. I live in Sutherland shire. Really not had too much experience with other vets. 3. I've always given advantix or similar in summer not do much winter because Charlie vomits they don't have fleas though. Never found one on them or in house and when groomer washes them she says same but I'll redo the flea
  4. That ^ bolded part is not correct. Interceptor does prevent tapeworm. Of course if Charjas forgets to give Interceptor regularly there is no protection against any worms, including heartworm. Charjas, in order for your dog to have tapeworm it must have fleas. Tapeworm comes from the dog ingesting fleas when they bite at the itch. It would be best if you use Sentinel instead of Interceptor to prevent a flea infestation. Again, if you forget to give the dogs the medication they have no protection against anything. I don't know your history either but I wanted to assure Charjas that Interceptor does prevent tapeworm.
  5. So if I wormed 16th August he has tapeworm eggs Same thing has happened before. Only last time he had worms. Not sure of type but he's wormed every month.
  6. I thought the last packet smelt stronger I really don't know anymore.
  7. On the packet says crude protein 29% Was going to try canidae grain free and got small bag but it's protein is 32% When all this started I thought the holistic select smelt strong but who knows. I need to find a vet that has time for my story. God help them.
  8. Since July 24. Before that they were on holistic select fish I looked back in my diary and all this started in May with jasper pooing red jelly then it settles and starts again but if they're not getting right work treatment perhaps that's it. I don't care if Jasper's test was clear he's identical symptoms to Charlie although he's pooed less tonight. He's not as sensitive as Charlie and Charlie has had other things with liver enzyme bring high. Do perhaps he's affected more. I must say despite the symptoms this time they're not moping around.
  9. I didn't choose the biscuits. The vet did I think because of Charlie's stomach. I think some have different protein Not entirely sure. And as for the interceptor. I was told to usd it Each month and on box it says tapeworm. Yet I researched the drug for tapeworm and it not in interceptor. . I even called another vet who said it's ok. Surely the bloody vet knows I need another thing then ??? Today they rang with the results and told me to give both another interceptor which they had 6th August.

  11. Water changed every day Walks every day usually No parks No other dogs No treats No bones since stopping chicken necks No spraying it's been raining for weeks. No carpet cleaning Our routine is same. Kids not here so they don't feed things I did give some Greek yoghurt this week but that should nt do it. Could be the BBQ chicken Could be the possums poo. Could be the ensal???
  12. When they have flagyl it clears up straight away. And it's been around years because I've had it. Their diet doesn't change much. Charlie had always been sensitive. Not only after flea treatment but also vomits after interceptor. They don't have treats. Whatever it is it passes from one to the other. But in 6 years this is the first time ( this year) I've seen this jelly stuff v
  13. They have interceptor every month and on the pack it says for all worms so I gave this again. If it wasn't suitable they should have told me that!!! Diet has been chicken at night and biscuits in morning although since they've been sick on and off it's mostly chicken rice sweet potato and for last month adding biscuits back in. Charlie was a but off Sunday but started improving through the week. Then both today. Gas audible as poo shoots out. I think it's from the possum poo. So I go back to bland for few days then add biscuits they had holistic select for about a year but vet said it was rubbish so now I have some science diet hair ball stuff which is forvCATS. GO FIGURE. both toy poodles. Charlie 6 jasper 3. This year both always sick. I haven't varied diet much because Charlie sensitive stomach. Used to feed chicken necks and biscuits but switched to plain chicken. Charlie had low liver reading at Christmas and was supposed to get another blood test but in march he had his appendix out. So at times when he's off j think it's his liver or such but then few days later jasper gets it. Too coincidental if both have jelly poo and vomitting. This week u did buy a BBQ chicken but I do on't give any skin. I don't give flea treatment in winter because Charlie vomits 2 days after and they don't have fleas they don't go to parks or near other dogs. They walk each day around thd block and stay inside mostly. I hadn't noticed possum poo on pavers but j think that starts it. I'm giving ENSAL twice a day.
  14. Hi all. Haven't been in for a while since asking about Jaspers itching. Update to this, I was to see a behaviourist or dermatologist but she suggested some tests first. Jasper had blood test which showed low thyroid. They are going to do another to see which T thingy it is. He also went on some cortisone to see if he stopped itching , which he did, and some anxiety tablets. I stopped the anxiety tabs because he was too quiet and off his food. Cortisone now finished an he is starting to scratch again. Hasn't licked his paws like usual though so it's now 2 months since he had no hair on his foot. I have made sure the groomer doesn't shave his feet. It's seems that aggravates him and he licks. I also don't put on any more creams or sprays. My other concern is that they both keep getting sick. In May jasper did these red jelly poos and then few days later Charlie. Vet put on flagyl and all cleared but every month or so same thing. It's usually Charlie starts then jasper. Last month I'd forgotten the interceptor so vet gave drontal and flagyl again. Charlie only did the red jelly poo once. Now again this week. Red jelly poo then started to settle. Now today it's jasper. Vet did stool test and Charlie has tapeworm eggs jasper clear. Not sure how as he's pooing today. Gave both interceptor again but it's only 2 weeks since they had it. Is there better treatment. I did catch them eating possum poo this week so fenced that area off and going to spray some SCAT along the fence. Now I've got an upset tummy. Perhaps a wormer for me too. Have washed bedding, floors etc. Driving me nuts.
  15. I've started with aloe juice. Put gel on legs yesterday but had to get them both washed today as after being minded where there were 2 other dogs they were very smelly. Got a mobile washer and she used ALLOVEEN aloe Vera. When you say feed the calendula flowers , after they've steeped?? I can't imagine he would eat them?? Also I'll put the gel on but I'm too scared to take the sock or the collar off. As soon as I do he starts sniffing and licking that foot. It's a light pink now but until I see some hair I'm too worried. He gets under my bed and has a good old lick. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  16. I'll take a close up of Jaspers feet for all to see the damage he's doing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  17. Yes thats it!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  18. I know they don't. It's actually called something else. Couldn't remember right term when I posted but it was large and something was making him sick and no energy. He's so much better and actually playing more which makes me think he was sickly for months. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
