  1. In small amounts I'm pretty sure it's fine. I read somewhere that if you have always given your pup cheese/yogurt/dairy products then they can stomach it but if not then not to introduce them suddenly? Either way, Diesel loves them.
  2. Diesel's lying on the floor at the moment getting angry at me because I filled his Kong with shredded ham and he can't reach the bits at the bottom! He also likes a little bit of peanut butter on the inside, or just his normal kibble soaked in chicken/beef stock and then either frozen to keep it in or left until the kibble expands and then drained off. He's actually not that keen on a whole lot of peanut butter but he'll do anything for cheese (or cream cheese) as well as those Nature's Gift liver or beef treats. I've tried stuffing his baked bones in there as well but he gets them out too quickly.
  3. Normal walking is done on a flat leather collar (unless it's somewhere really exciting, new, or where there will be heaps of other dogs). Training is now done with a training (slip) collar - thanks to Tilly who gave me hers! Which is working out really well at the moment.
  4. OoOoh I always want to play with puppies! lol... Funny how close you can be to someone and never even know. I told you I was coming over to steal Enya from your place.
  5. I go to either All Creatures in Calwell or the Weston Creek clinic - depending on why I'm taking Diesel to the vet. I'm in Theodore so Calwell is less than a five minute drive - good for routine check ups, shots, getting worming tablets etc. Everyone think they're really expensive but I trust the vets there and after the crisis with Rocky last year (that resulted in him getting PTS) I think they did everything they could to make him as happy and comfortable until they diagnosed him. Have been to Weston Creek to get Diesel's eyes checked for CEA etc. - they were really nice but it's a bit far for a normal check up. My BFs dog goes to Tuggeranong Vet Clinic in Fadden - the guy is nice, great with other animals too (they have rats... unfortunately they've got mites but he gives them free injections, had to get one PTS not long ago... anyway...) but I felt he was a bit slack in terms of information and stuff (or it's possible my BF and his parents just weren't listening - they seem to think that I spend way too much on my dog, and my dog's health - just because Kyra cost us $25, lol. BYB I know but hey she got a good home) they never got told about the different vaccines (C3, C4, C5 etc.) and got charged what seemed like a lot for desexing (to me anyway). But each to his own I guess.
  6. Easiest way to keep it still is probably to make it the same as a horse rug - they usually have two straps which run crossed over between the back legs... easiest way to describe them is to attach one side of the strap about and inch infront of her back legs (near her belly), and the other side to the OPPOSITE side of the blanketat the back of her OTHER leg. Obviously you'll need to put some of those click-in fastener things (don't know what they're called) so you can undo them easily and stuff.
  7. A day???? That seems like so much to me, lol, Diesel (8 month old BC) only gets one chicken wing (large) or a lamb shank for dinner. If he got three or four he'd be in Heaven... and pretty fat... lol.
  8. Supercoat Puppy here... plan to switch to Proplan or Eukanuba once he's on adult food though.
