  1. So sorry, poor boy.
  2. I really would encourage crate training as well and keeping them in at night. Good luck with it all, maybe attending dog training a at good club and then some more to keep them happy? BTW looked at their blog lovely
  3. Thanks Clover it will. I don't want to jinx her as Lucy girl is still very 'available for adoption', but she is on someone's screen saver with the plan to meet in a fortnight
  4. they initially inquired a few weeks ago and until this point I have been rueful that they couldn't at the time follow through. Apparently they have been checking her pics and updates every couple of days and can't believe that she is still available. I have wanted them to reappear so... fingers and paws crossed, but very dog savvy people, ex-breeder and involved in dog sports.... should be the one for her. Their dog sounds temperament and play style a fantastic match. As usual another two inquiries have also happened this week and one of them if I can match a young female kelpie or cross to would be a very included family life with lots of exercise on the beach
  5. Twigster has a meeting this Saturday with someone driving some distance. All going well she will be a companion to a kelpie x youngster and after some training trying her dab paw at flyball and possibly herding Thanks again for your suggestion Clover, the enquiry is from the flyball site. Lucy (Lucinda) will be a bit broken hearted if she leaves. She is a little dynamo that I 'think' is BC xfoxy or similar. Twiggy size (6 month old kelpie) but full grown girl who has a love of ball, toys, and also shows some herding behaviours
  6. Bump. I have one possibly option through the flyball website (thank you Clover!) but have double trouble Lucinda arriving this week. 6 month old super-bright (oh dear) kelpie possibly crossed, who is toy and ball focussed
  7. they have changed their minds. She is 'too young'. Surely someone will see the magic that is the Twigster.....
  8. thank you. Twiggy is fast becoming a rollercoaster ride, she is very special. But these sound like really lovely people, experienced dog people, and she'll be an inside dog when they are home. They are planning break away collars already for her shenanigans with dog mate if it all works out. And they are happy (despite already being competent with training) to take her to dog school to continue building her confidence as I expect her to go backwards in the transition. She'll leave a huge hole when she goes. She is now a goofy super affectionate munchkin who oscillates between sitting for pats looking adoringly (and a little intensely he he) and being a big smooch-ball.
  9. The little girl has a meeting next weekend Not a performance home but 10 acres and with an active canine companion. Might work well fingers crossed. I am keen for her to bond with her new home as she is settling in very much here... Thank you indi dog :p that is great
  10. thanks Clover. Is a wee bit too far to stalk with the Twigster But I reckon we will have to keep our eye on ACT events
  11. So sorry. I remember her and trying to find rescue... She was so lucky to have had your family and a wonderful few months. Damn it wasn't longer, but she deserved the time she had to bless a home with her love and receive in same. R.I.P. Kirra. GSD's have a love that is hardly rivaled....
  12. What a lucky dog to have such a long life with you Take care
  13. Sounds possibly dementia.. There is a seniors biscuit Science Diet and others o doubt. That and fish oils can help. My old departed one was also improved dramatically through chinese medicine (by a very good vet). Which state/city are you in?
  14. there is a thread in the general rescue forum as this is a contentious one (i.e. many vets give this advice...)
  15. not going to be me, can't be me, if it could she would stay The right home will turn up, but keeping her little profile here in case a person who could offer a home with training, maybe fly, herding or something active sees her gorgeous little monkey face
  16. gorgeous. Stalking, dropping, herding and endearing herself. One of my dogs is food aggressive and he tolerates her taking his food - first ever. They are also crate buddies. She is not confident when left alone from dogs and poeple, would need another dog at this stage. She has discovered the joy of digging still without a forever home.
  17. I think anyone that adopts Twiggy could be
  18. Not even if I tell you she can do Origami with packing boxes?
