  1. Mrs RB, great to hear you had a good outing!

Not as good for us this morning, we came around a corner and there was a lady walking her dog in the middle of the road... We couldn't cross the road to get some distance obviously, and I wasn't quick enough in my decision to keep moving forward or turn around. I had my treats and tennis ball in my hands, so that was working well, but she ended up hitting threshold and getting a couple of woofs out. I'm pretty confident that had I just powered on in one direction or the other she would have been fine, but I dithered :(

Handler error, I'll have to get up a bit earlier so my brain isn't so foggy at the start of our walk!

  2. We discovered on the weekend that the bunt used to tow the boats to shore in water rescue are made by Chuck It.

As if I need another reason to look at their range. Zeph loves the orange with blue stripe rubber balls. They come in different sizes with a matching launcher. They last a lot longer than the Kong range.

I am now going to have to look at the chuck it kick it ball. My poor bank balance :scared:

Yes those are the ultra balls! They are great!

My latest favourite Chuckit item is the Chuckit Ultra Tug, which is an Ultra ball on a rope so you can use it in training.

I am really impressed with how durable it is, Wiz launches herself at it and I catch her with it and she tugs on it hard, but it still looks new (no teeth marks or anything). And because the handle is really thick and due to the way its designed, it won't come out of the ball like some other ropes do when you play a hard game of tug.

Consider me enabled, Luna acts like it's her mission in life to detach balls from rope, haha

  3. I just saw a giveaway ad on a certain website that included phrases

"I am a very protective dog and will bark and run at strangers I don't know, and this is why I need a new home as unfortunately my new home in [redacted] does not have good fences and I kept getting out and barking and showing aggressive behaviour when people came near my house, but if you got to know me in my home I'd just want bum scratches all day and for you to play fetch with me."

A very striking dog in the photos as well, I hope someone unsuspecting does not get sucked in and that he goes to a home where he'll get the support/training he's going to need.

  4. Today I picked up the Ruffian Octopus done by the same company as the Bad Cuz... They didn't have any of the Cuz's with no feet, and looking at them in person I could see my girl removing those feet in no time, lol. She's loving the Octopus though!

  5. First of all, Robin is gorgeous! Secondly, I've been meaning to pick up a bad cuz, or a darwin or dexter... I must do that soon! I plan on doing a k9pro order for a chuck it kick fetch as I really need a non poppable, kickable ball... I'll have to remember to put a cuz range ball in the order.

    Thanks for sharing the video!

My dogs Loooooooovvvvvvveeeee their Chuck It Kick It ball from K9 pro :)

    Oooh that's good to hear!

I also shouldn't reply in the forums when I'm trying to get back to sleep, I didn't even notice that autocorrect had changed Ronin's name on me :(

  7. UPDATE

Thank you to all for your responses and invaluable information.

We have FINALLY managed to engage a trainer. I do live in Queensland, but regionally. I have left messages and sent emails with as much detailed information as possible and no one but one has responded. Unfortunately, like all reputable trainers she is very busy and we will have to wait a week or so to see her but at least help is on the way. Her initial feelings from the information I have given her is quite interesting but sobering. Anyway, she wont get a firm idea until she meets us all next week and her work can commence.

In the meantime, the aggression comes and goes - mainly in the morning and evening but during the day he is fine. I am noticing that he is getting a lot more jumpy than usual. Anyway, we will keep trying to keep him calm until help arrives.

BTW, in answer to a previous post recommending that we don't exercise him too much, the 'walks' we do, are really just strolls with lost of 'stopping to smell the roses' so to speak and to get used to different things like pushbikes, children, other people, boats, kyaks, jet skis and pelicans going past not to mention the odd blue tong lizard - there is no hard exercise. I could not deny him, he really loves these outings too much and it is the one time of day when we really enjoy each other's company :) We do play 'mind' games out in the backyard and verandah along with ball games etc. I just wish he could talk human speak or I could thoroughly understand dog talk!

Will keep you updated. Thanks again.

Just checking in to see how you are going? Hoping that help has arrived for you :)

  8. Thanks guys. Jemmy the same neighbours complained to the Council about our dogs barking at people walking past, which is partly why the relationship is strained.

Ugh, that sucks. I still have no idea who ours was...I know it wasn't either of our fenceline neighbours... One of them had the same thing happen. Good luck, I hope you get a full nights sleep soon! :)

  9. I would put a note in their letterbox just mentioning you're aware they're working on the barking, but did they know it had recently become nightly. As someone who had people go straight to council about our dog barking at people walking past while we were at work - I would have much preferred they dropped a note in the mailbox or stuck their head over the fence when we were about...having the council involved stressed me out quite a bit!
