Going To See My Fist Reql Shutzhund Comp Next Week!
2tollers replied to Sparty's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
That whole camera scenario sounds just like me. Don't forget the video links. -
The nationals are in October I think and the Tassie people were talking about holding their comp around this time of the year.
-
I'd really like to go but of course it depends on $$$$. God I hate money. shoemonster your OH is a real sweetie. I've seen him baby sit, hold dogs, shagging, lifting the box in and out. I definitely think he deserves a t-shirt.

Hey Jenny, What's a fist reql. -
Are there any DOLers coming over from Tassie for the Ringwood comp? It's pretty exciting having them here for the first time. I'm not going to complain about having to travel from Ballarat.

You lucky duckie. I'd love to see that. -
Thanks for the videos. Molly was great wasn't she. She'll be at our comp in Ballarat this weekend. Some very nice cows there TB. Unfortunately what you've said about some competitors is very true. They do it for themselves I think rather than to have fun with their dog.
-
That's what I thought too. Come on TB where's your photos and videos. I didn't get to meet you on the day unfortunately. How did you like the comp?

Hey LilBailey check out these photos of flea and Bailey. http://www.dogsporttalk.com.au/phpBB3/view...?f=19&t=161

Reddi you've had a bit of a holiday. It sounds as though you've done a great job with your dog. Congratulations on your win. Doesn't it feel great to go home a winner. Hey Yarrowfell, who got the black card, you or your dog?

Is anyone else camping?2Tollers, I was about 50m from you, down by the fence next to the big red trailer. I had the kelpie and the big red boofer. I think I spoke to you?? Jo I saw the big red boofer and the kelpie. Were you with St George? I said hello to heaps of people but the weekend was so busy it's all a bit of a blur. Everyone else from my team were in cabins at the other end of the park so I wasn't at the tent much. I had a great weekend. I managed to catch up with a few people I haven't seen for a while and met some new ones. Our team ran faultlessly on the first day. On the second day one of our dogs was spooked by something, Todd decided that the agility looked like fun (I think he though it was lure coursing when he saw the dogs tearing around), brought the ball back and then buggered off out the back of the ring to the agility. Luckily I caught him when he stopped to snack on something on the ground. After that his mind wasn't on the job and he slowed down. On our second last run of day 2 he decided he'd had enough and ran up to the box, caught the ball, spat it out and went to leave the back of the ring. That was his last run for the day. Molly was fantastic and kept running as the teams height dog after Stewart got a fright. Our team won division 6 and came home with a whopping big trophy for the club rooms and huge grins. We also won "The Malcolm Stewart Award" which is given to the most consistent club at the comp. I'll post a couple of pics in the photo section but unfortunately I was lazy with the camera and don't have many.

Yarrowfell I'm looking forward to seeing your little pug run. How cool, I'll definitely have to take a couple of pics if I get a chance. I prefer this site to BOM. Same info just a little more user friendly. http://www.eldersweather.com.au/act/southe...anberra?fc=9028 I'll have 2 Tollers with me and run with Ballarat. Thanks Mooper.

I think we're at the same place. They won't allow show dogs because some of them were washing their dogs in the shower. Someone must have assured them that our dogs don't need a daily bath. I wish they could go into cabins though. Is anyone else camping? My dogs are fine as long as someone they know is close by and I won't shut them out and away from me in a strange place, they're just not used to it. I suspect my tent could get a bit crowded with some other dogs who's owners are in cabins though. :D I found in Brisbane that I didn't get to meet all of the DOLers who were there. I'd love to meet everyone I can though. Hey Clover I'll miss you and your doggies (and your mum). Hopefully things will work out and we'll see you back racing soon.

wagalot what's the place you're looking at staying? -
My bank account says it WAS only yesterday we were in Brisbane (that one cost us a fortune) I had a look at the weather thingo and it says 22c for Saturday and Sunday hasn't come up yet. Hopefully it won't be too hot. http://www.eldersweather.com.au/act/southe...anberra?fc=9028 I'm leaving Ballarat very early Friday morning (and I think the rest of our team is too) and we're staying at Eaglehawk Holiday Park. Dogs aren't allowed in cabins so I'll be in a tent with the dogs. Is anyone else staying there? Where are you coming from wherezaball?

Thanks Erny. There's a couple of possibilities on the list that ruffles posted especially if you don't plan on doing a barbie. -

I've been looking at the accommodation and this one sounds REALLY interesting. This was part of their listing. BBQ Area Dump point for portable toilets -
Bloody brilliant. I love watching this stuff and B/C's do it so well.

I'm lucky because my dogs will eat absolutely anything. When they're doing flyball or lots of running around I like to use something soft and fresh because their mouths become dry. I use cheese a bit, left over sausages, kebana, anything that they wouldn't normally get so it's special. I might be imagining things but if the dogs know it's something we eat they're even keener. ETA Yes, definitely a light feed the day before.
-
That's great news. Fingers crossed for you.

Getting the grant would definitely call for drinks. I think it's great but I imagine the drug companies don't. wylie I would think you have to live in Sydney. I don't know if there's any other ways of being involved other than donating your dogs blood.
