  1. Oh, the boys wear amber necklaces and have done since they were babies. Good for teething because amber has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. I got them done tonight! Woo! 70/100 71/100 72/100 73/100 74/100
  2. I am here, just super busy! Will do a catch up - probably tomorrow though, as it's Ed's birthday today :)
  3. Epic sky! Thanks. It's a bit special actually, because it was the first time he's ever been swimming unassisted. He decided that he didn't need his floaty anymore and just started swimming 67/100 68/100 69/100
  4. Thank you all :) Sid has always had the head splodge, although it has stretched from a spot to a sort of mohawk as his head has grown.
  5. So do I Helen - they always come back spot on for me :)
  6. Oh no Ping 64/100 65/100 66/100
  7. Did your photographer not recommend one? My images come back different from different labs - all to do with calibration of monitors and printers. For prints I recommend: https://www.nushots.com.au/index.php/products/pricing Ikea and Target for frames :)
  8. My story: Used a point and shoot. Started getting interested. Professional photographer friend loaned me an old DSLR. I switched it to manual, googled ISO, aperture and shutter speed and went from there. Practiced, practiced, practiced. Professional photographer friend asked me to second shoot weddings for her. Did a lot of second shooting before starting my own business. Entered APPA and QPPA last year and picked up some awards, which was really exciting for me, because I felt validated by my peers. The end, I am hooked :D Weddings are my absolute favourite thing. You need honest feedback from someone who knows what they are talking about. I also believe you need (and I will probably get shot down for this) some degree of natural talent. You can have all the technical skills in the world and still create completely boring images. And like everyone else has said - practice. My old images make me cringe
  9. And a couple more recent ones in his new environment :)
  10. The big guy was two on Boxing Day and is awesome :D I took him out for his own shoot yesterday:
  11. Sorry to see you go, RV! 61/100 62/100 63/100
  12. If you can't change lenses, then it's a point and shoot. It's very very tough to ask a little camera to take decent pics when there is very little light and no flash.
  13. Quick and dirty and I'm sure someone else can do better, but yeah, it's too far gone for me to improve. I do hear all the time 'Can't you just photoshop it?' It's not the magician that it's made out to be.
  14. You probably can't really save it. Part of the reason it's grainy is because it's underexposed - lightening will increase the grain. You could try and run it through a noise reducing program, but honestly, most of them just make everything look plastic.
  15. It definitely is! I probably only know how to use about 3% of it  Every now and then I get curious about something, hit youtube for a tutorial and with a bit of hair tearing, figure it out. It's a complicated beast.
  16. You poor thing! I didn't see this earlier. Yes, you need the opposite colour to whatever your mask is to brush back.
  17. I have seen that site, tlc. I probably even have some of the presets  I've stopped downloading them now though, because I am always disappointed. 57/100
  18. The stupid part is, I had a few that I'd created that I would use all the time - but now I'm too keen on creating new ones that work better, so I haven't even missed them
  19. Yeah I resisted for ages because I'd heard that with the change of sliders, my current presets wouldn't work. But with a bit of tweaking, they seem to work better.
