  1. Aaah cavvie bubbas, good luck BB Is there a "litters due in October" thread?? I cant see one? So i must start one for my girl ....
  2. Yep thats her! Her way of saying hello is to slide along her side then end up on her back, then freaks other dogs out by jumping up from her back quickley, play bowing then snapping at them for sniffing her bits!! Sending mixed messages i reckon!! :p I will remember you when i see you Amypie, so come over and say hi next week!
  3. AND Amypie - what dogs do you have so i can identify you and race you to buy all the raffle tickets!! You cant miss me, im the dork with the whippet in foundation adult class - last week i tried to direct Scarlett through the tyre and ran into the edge of it, made it move and scared the crap out of her!!
  4. Oi bugger off Amypie - I want the raffled agility stuff - I asked first!! :D Sounds good Rusky, be sure to let us know. Or maybe i will run up to Simone first thing next Tuesday before Amypie gets there and suck up to her big time!!
  5. Thanks everyone, unfortunately with work 1 day a week, uni 1 day a week, agility Tuesday nights, showing some weekends, gymbaroo with my 8month old daughter on mondays and being a housewife and mum - constructing anything is definately not an option!! But the jumps look easy, so i might have a go at that, it was mainly the tunnel (as she hates it!) and the walk - to teach the contact at the end and maybe a seesaw. I might take you up on that offer Ptolomy, if your son is into making a bit of xtra cash? I had a look for tunnels on ebay, but there is none there, so i will keep looking. I might check Allpets too as i get stuff cost price. :D
  6. Does anyone know where i can get cheap or second hand agility equipment from? Im after a tunnel, some jumps, a walk ramp and an A-frame.
  7. I have just started agility with my bitch and have looked everywhere for a Tab lead and cant find one. I have also had trouble finding a large treat bag, as the one i have for showing is much too small. Does anyone here in Perth have any recomendations?
  8. My agility teacher said to fill an old sock with a chicken wing and get them to pull and tug on that and then start to change over to proper tug toys. The idea of the sock is to get that inital joy of grabbing hold of something and tugging it!!
  9. Thats great, thanks everyone - i never thought of being so inovative! I love the idea of salami sausage, cheese and lamb lung! Im going to go shopping now! She actually really loves food and treats, but i wanted something she will get super enthused about - so ill try these ideas!
  10. I started agility with my Whippet bitch tonight and i can tell we are both going to love it! I was wondering what everyone has found works well as a treat - i use liver treats in the ring - but have never had to use them much. But im finding i will be using treats LOTS while training her in agility and she got bored with them pertty quickley ;) . Was curious as to what people find works well. The "wet" treats i find really messy, but maybe they are better as the are fresh?
  11. Thanks for that, have decided to go with ACWA as i cant go on Thursday nights, so it will have to be Tuesdays. Thanks for all the inof, look forward to doing what Whippets are really built to do!
  12. Hi, was just wondering on the off chance - does anyone know anything about Agility here at the CAWA? I have emailed both the SR Agility club and ACWA but not heard back. I would like to start doing it with my 2 year old whippet, but not sure where to start. Is jumping and ET all part of agility?
  13. I agree Winterpaws, looks like a cross between a Ridgeback, Pharaoh Hound and a Shar Pei!! As you say though, each to their own, im sure there are many people out there that are not that fond of Whippets either! Interesting looking dogs though.
