We use Sasha's blend on our 16 year old Labrador. She went from walking painfully slow to running after the GSD! She runs to the gate... about 150m down the drive when we come home after being out. The arthritic swellings have decreased noticably as well.

Thinking of you Jeff.

Oh gosh, I only just read this. Karoline, I am so sorry to hear of Mucha's journey over the Bridge.
I love that close-up of her.
Can't say more.....

There's a place in my heart for old guard dogs.
At least we got to spend some good times with Sultan and he finally knew what love and comfort was before we had to say goodbye to him.
RIP Roxy

That's terrible to lose two so close together. So sorry for your loss.

Poor Pip.
A BIG dog in a little dogsuit.
Silkies are dear little dogs.... don't know how I'll go when it's my Lucy's time.... she is a real wag (dag, too)

Suffolks are great. We have a small flock and are expecting lots of sets of twins soon.

Thanks Karen. I promise I will update it over the next week then I'll send you the addy. I really do owe it to our 'family' to bring it up to date.
He was such a glorious dog.

Milo, as far as I know she was just a moggy. One of the kids I taught at school gave her to me when she was a weeny baby. She had the most beautiful nature.
The morning she died we called and called for her and she didn't come. Went out the back and called the dogs (Shannon and Sultan) and they wouldn't move. They were lying either side of her licking her face. I think they were trying to keep her warm.

Yes Arolf, still do. I have found it very difficult to update since we lost Shannon though. I am on holidays now, so will try.

Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

My bestest girl.
Lend Me a Pup
I will lend to you for awhile, a German Shepherd pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives and mourn for him when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three
But will you, 'till I call him back, take care of him for me.
He'll bring his charms to gladden you and (should his stay be brief)
you'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true
And from the folk that crowd life's land I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love not think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take my GSD back again.
I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this GSD will bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness we'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay
But should you call him back much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.
If, by our love, we've managed, your wishes to achieve
In memory of him we loved, to help us while we grieve,
When our faithful bundle departs this world of strife,
We'll have yet another GSD and love him all his life.

Our poor old boy. Discarded by the factory he worked so many years to protect. Taken to be euthanased. Thankfully Sultan was taken to Burwood, so had a chance.
Collapsed wrists, poorsight and hearing. Terrible arthritis, bad skin.
But a gentle, loving old man.
He learnt to walk on grass. He learnt to eat good food. He learned to be loved. He had a doggy friend and a cat who adored him. He had us.
We had him with us for such a short time. He had a Christmas with lots of presents.
He had a heart of gold and a dignity and grace that belied his beginnings.
He died surrounded with love.
RIP my boy. Missed every day.
He was my dog now he runs with the angels.

aatainc... what is the one you use called and where do you get it? Sasha's blend is expensive and if there is a cheaper alternative I would like to be able to source it. Thanks.
