  1. That is a really good set up ness. That would work well. Can you hose the turf down after it's been used? Does the urine leak through. I have hard flooring so easy enough to keep clean
  2. My pup nailed the dog door on his second day here. :) Awesome!! Clever pup....i think the pay off for them is worth it
  3. Yeah I'm not a big fan of human health insurance...got rid of mine cos i too was getting charged for stuff that medicare covers...anyway back to the post...i will call a few companies and get a feel for it. We have pretty good income but have spent thousands on our other dogs over the years was hoping this would help. Hmmm....appreciate your input Little Gifts
  4. Wow! 3 months off. Won't be able to wangle that but will have to sort something. Hopefully once older dogs are used to him he will learn from them and be happy coming in and out. I don't live far from work so can pop in a bit. Thanks for your experience :)
  5. If the pup is allowed inside, I'd recommend a dog door. Pup will be inside. Have a dog door for my other 2 so hopefully he will learn to use that no worries
  6. I just bought this to use on my pom http://www.pethead.com/collections/dogs/products/pet-head-feeling-flakey-dry-sensitive-shampoo Will report back after I've used it
  7. He will likely get cover but the heart murmur will need to be declared and no doubt will be a specific exclusion on the policy. I'd still try and insure him ASAP. Cool thanks. Will do!!!
  8. Thanks for responses! Definitely sounds like something to seriously consider. Thanks westiemum for the links will have a look at it. Since my original post this morning i have found out that our lil guy has a heart murmer so not sure if he would get cover. Something I'll look into
  9. Thanks we are very excited! Maybe a pup pen outside on grass would work. Will start another thread about that i think ☺
  10. So i personally (without looking into it at all) have thought Pet insurance to be a gimic. Is it worth it? Getting a new pup soon and wondered if it's something i should look into. Haven't with my other dogs but have forked out a bit over the years....especially now my old dog is receiving pelative care. Thanks
  11. Great idea with teddy in crate espinay2!! Casima how long does pup stay in pen? While at work or shorter periods? Haven't even started addressing the work/pup situation!! We don't have him yet
  12. Thanks so much everyone! Have lots to think about and find out which might be best for us ???????? Thnx again!!
  13. Cool thanks everyone. Adult size crate it is then. Makes sense......I'm finding that that's what puppy rearing is about...common sense ????
  14. Hello! Did you buy a crate that was big enough for pup and then buy a bigger size when pup had grown up? Or did you buy adult size and section off? Thank you
  15. Awww...lovely! We used to have a lab and he was such a beautiful soul. Wish I had of known about Pippa website when we had him. He was full of beans right to the end. Enjoy your lab ????

  17. I've started reading it and seems quite good. I borrowed it from the library but might buy it if you think it's useful as a reference. Thnx for your input lazy daisy
  18. Hi, In a few weeks we are expecting a new arrival. I'm wanting to be prepared as it has been over 10years since having a pup in the house. Has anyone read this book by Pippa Mattinson - The Happy Puppy Handbook? If so was it helpful? Any other recommendations for something to read regarding puppy rearing? Thanks :)
  19. Well...i have an announcement.....we didn't get to the dog show, however for the past little while I've been looking into German and Japanese spitz. Comparing the 2 hubby and i finally decided on the german. Llancarfan kennels had one last German spitz mittel left. After him umming and ahing he agreed that going a registered breeder would be best. Please don't judge but before i became informed about backyard breeders and puppy farms we had gotten 2 of our dogs that way. This time i wanted to do it right. Thats why was going to take hubby n daughter to dog show to see the spitz in action. Anyway....sorry about blabbing. I'm super happy about our decision and glad to have done some homework. Also knowing you have the after care from breeder is reassuring!
