That is an awesome story and that should be congratulated in my eyes. When a dog of any breed saves a child it should be recognised. :D

Just wanted peoples thoughts on the Coprice dog food . I have a huge bag of the Chicken, Kelp and garlic one that we recently won at our state obedience trials. My guys are fed on Eagle Pack and wasnt sure how good the coprice is to change them as i dont want there coats to become dull. They also get kelp, fish oil capsules and sardines in oil every night with whatever they have for dinner. If you have used Coprice on your dogs after using an expensive food what was your dogs coats like? how long did you see an improvement or when did you see it was crap. thanks

Walking On The Treamill?
magicmine replied to Midnight87's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I have a treadmill i use for my staffords. I first taught them slowly on a walk and with food and kept talking to them and praising them. They love it and now when i say up they just hop onto it and i start it . they have no lead or collar on them but i am with them and i only do them for 5 minutes each. To long is bad for them i reckon. I only put them on it when i cant walk them outside. -
Just thought I would share our good news from Saturday 8th August at the QLD Royal Show that Tonka ( Magicmine A Pot Of Black CCD CD) gained a 3rd place with 192/200 points and this is his 2nda pass towards his CDX title. I was very happy with him and the way he worked in the conditions. The ring was on where the cows had to do there business so there were lots of cow poo and pee everywhere. He didnt take his eyes off me which was good. The royal is always a challenge as with all the noise and cow poo everywhere its really up to the dog. Tonka took it in his stride and im very pleased with him as this was his first royal. here is a photo of him with all his goodies. He is 2 yrs old and 7 months for looking

Training To Wear A Muzzle?
magicmine replied to ButerflyGirl's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think it will take time and praise. Keep it on for a little while then take it off with lots of praise. Gradually increase the time praising all the time your dog has it on. Ive heard greyhound muzzles are pretty i think the plastic ones. not sure which ones are best but would think the metal ones wouldnt protect much. while your dog has it on give him/her little treats and tell them what a good boy/girl they are and just make a fuss over them while they have it on. hope that helps. -
I say leave it also but your not going to be around your dog 24/7 as you would be saying to leave it when you are with them. When your not with them they are gonna do what they want and sniffing is what they do best. I did teach my bitch last year at our royal not to eat the cow poop as she was doing UD trialling. Her nose never went to the ground while in the ring ( except to find what she was supposed to find ) but once she knew she was finished her work outside the ring her nose went straight to the ground and i say leave it and she does but you cant keep an eye on them all the time. I do know of people that have trained there dogs not to take food of anyone from any surface but not sure how they do it as it would be constant training as dogs will take anything. My bitch does food refusal in the ring as she knows she isnt allowed to touch it but anyone outside the ring she is like mmmmm thank you.

I was always told to vacinate my dogs only because we do alot of obedience and clubs wont let you train unless they are done. I was only doing them every year because of the obedience clubs and the shows as you dont know what is around at shows. thanks all for the info

Hi I have read about eagle pack and it sounds great but where can I get it? I thought it was an american brand and not available here in Australia? I would love to feed woof bix cos it is cheap as chips and it doesn't have any artificia;l flavours or colours but I was worried about the quality in terms of having growing puppies particularly the large breed boy, which is why I chose a super premium food....... Some produce stores sell it. It depends on who are the contributors for Eagle Pack. You will just have to ring around and ask .

thanks for that. I have always used C5 on my dogs but will anything happen if i stop her getting her vacs. im scared that she may catch something if she isnt vacs.
-
If he eats anything thats good as he shouldnt have a problem when you give him other stuff to eat. I reckon whatever they eat is good enough as long as the puppy tollerates it. IMO they need bikkys in there diet as well as other stuff.
-
Hey i only take her to dog shows where she competes in the show. I dont board her , She gets her yearly booster of C5 every year but just thought if she would be ok to get a C3 or somthing.
-
Just wondering if it is still ok to give my 9 year girl the C5 vac. She still gets shown in veteran and desexed so was wondering if i should keep her on the C5 only because she is still getting shown or drop down to C3? Thanks for your help

They have been on the dry food for about 2 yrs and havent had a prob. This is probly the coldest its been here. They get bones maybe 1 a week. I havent bathed them for 2 weeks and i use FIDOS soap free either the flea one or the normal shampoo. I use that because it doesnt give them flakey skin.

Thanks alot mate for your help

Fish oil as in tablets? Thanks for your help. How many capsules would i have to out in and how many times a day. 1 dog weighs 23kg, and other 2 weigh 15kg

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what i could give my guys to help with the dry skin. It has only occured to the change of weather and cold conditions. They get sardine in oil every night with there dinner, kelp and apple cider vinegar. The 2 young ones Tonka (2 & a half) and Cassie ( 5 years) are fed on Eagle Pack Power and the old girl Kirra ( nealry 9) is on Science Diet sensitive skin. Thanks for any help
