Feeding Fish

I went to the fish co-op today for some fish, and asked the poor man there if there was any fish that I could feed to the dogs whole. Well he had no idea, but gave me a ray fin for them to eat, he gives them to his dog..

So before I confuse anyone else, does anybody else feed whole fish to their dogs? or am I better to stay with fillets, due to the lack of bones?

Thanks for the replies guys, The guy was really concerned about their spines cutting their gums and getting stuck in their throats.. He even asked all of the other workers if they knew of anything I could give them. I guess its not something they get asked very often!

Ruby gets raw fish heads as part of her very limited diet (see thread about her elimination diet). I've also fed her whole raw barra...baby sized, cleaned and gutted but skin on. Fish is really good for dogs - if you don't feel comfortable feeding a whole fish, just buy the heads. The dogs will love them! :D
