Trachea

Has any-one had a small breed with Trachea problems,I say small breed as I'm told it is quite common. Emily my Chi has always had a grunting noise going on,sometimes gagging, never thought there was a problem(thought that was just charactoristic of her) until she had C/section and vet mentioned she was gasping for her breath coming out of anaesthetic, because she has a "Trachea" problem.I asked what "we"could do last week as I have noticed, seems mainly of an evening she seems to be gasping for breath.....at times. I was advised to get Bricanyl, for human ashma suffers and I now give her a one ml at night, only weighs 2.5 kilos.

I am wondering if others have been through this ,how & if it was fixed . :(

Concerned re the presure on her heart for the long term,3 years young now.

Is her trachea collapsing or does she have and elongated soft pallet?

Very good question for my vet t'morrow,I would be suggesting collapsing as there was no mention as to "enlogated soft pallet'.Must Google it,to understand it all more fully.Daughters Chi,no relation to my line has acupuncture weekly,I suppose this would relax her muscles but seems like a bandaide on a very serious problem, can't breathe one dies!
