Alternative To Nurto Large Puppy

My 7 month old German Shepherd (Reno) has been scratching like crazy for a month or two and im starting to wonder if its his diet. Ive seen the vet and they cant find anything (e.g flea's etc), so I have been using flax seed oil in his food. At the moment he is eating Nutro Large Puppy, which was working well for him, but he now he is scratching all over like crazy at times.

Can anyone recommend some dry kibble that is equal or better in quality than Nutro? I can get most brands of food other than Artemis (Live in N/E Vic). I have looked into BARF, but for now im looking for a kibble.

have you tried anything else? if he was an adult there are plenty of sensitive skin/stomach formulas out there. maybe look into the royal canin breed specific for shepherds? they make a junior.

i've never used it myself as i don't have a shepherd. but i have used one of their vet diets & it was fantastic. my dog turns her nose up at almost anything & loved the royal canin.

maybe even look at the eagle pack large & giant breed in the holistic.

You could try Nutro Lamb & Rice. The Large Puppy does contain wheat.

I've found Pro Plan Salmon good for itchy skin.

Eagle Pack have an Anchovy one that is also supposed to be good for itchy skin.

How old and what breed is the pup though?

Perhaps try the Royal Canin German Shepherd dryfood, they make a junior and an adult formula - it is very good food and doesn't contain wheat.
