Scooting

Hello,

2 year old Kelpie (Sally) likes to embarrass me at the park!

She scoots her bum.,breifly, when around other dogs.

I get the "she's got worms" but she is FULLY covered once per month.

or "It's her anal glands" but there's no irritation with redness or swelling.

She's been doing it for ages now, and ONLY at the park around other dogs.

She never does it when we don't see other dogs, or at home.

I always forget to ask on DOL as I forget about it when at home.

Could she be "marking" her scent?

It is more likely to be her anal glands they do not have to red or swollen to cause annoyance in your dog Just take her outside and express them by squeezing.

If you are not sure what to do get someone who does to do it for you. :)

Have you looked at her vulva? Lola does this when she gets yeasty around there and scoots to relieve the itchiness. If its yeast, there will be dark brown around it, I just wipe it with a medicated cloth.

ok i'll take a look, and wipe just-in-case and see if she still does it. She also very rarely has a bit of a leak of urine when she's lying down after being thoroughly exhausted from a big play at the park.
