Charlie Has Uveitis

Recommended Posts

A couple weeks ago we took Sam & Charlie to the vet for their vaccinations. The vet noticed that Charlie's right eye was a bit red and slightly cloudy. She immediately thought it could be glaucoma so started Charlie on drops for same. At the same time she said there was an eye specialist coming to Rocky but for me to bring Charlie back after a week. I did that then she decided he needed to see the specialist. Some of you may have already been to him. Dr Tony Read who is based in Adelaide but comes up to Nth Qld a few times a year. The appointment was for today and now Charlie is on drops for uveitis. Anyone had any experience with uveitis? I haven't checked out Robert McDowell for this. I did for glaucoma but didn't find anything.

Charlie seems okay otherwise still as lively as a cricket.

Bumping this old topic. Did you ever find out what caused this with Charlie?

One of my dogs has just been diagnosed with uveitis. Because it's only in one eye, and it came on quite suddenly, the vet thinks the most likely cause is trauma. All I can think of is that she may have run into something in the yard. She has cortisone drops and cortisone tablets, and is responding well thank goodness.
