Translucent jelly stripe on the cornea

Hi,

Before I take my dog to the vet, I was wondering if anyone knows or has seen this in dogs? I've attached some pictures.
I noticed today that my dog has a translucent jelly-like stripe on his cornea. I thought it might be eye goop so I tried to wash it away with some saline drops, but it hasn't gone away.
It seems to be staying on the same spot on the cornea, and doesn't float around.
He doesn't seem to be in any pain and isn't scratching it with his paws. Theres no discharge in the corner of his eye either.
Not sure if he might have scratched his cornea? Or is this just goop that comes and goes?

If anyone seen this and suspect what it might be, please let me know!
