  2. hmmmm well the vet didnt say anything like that.....im pretty sure the bone wasnt too fatty, plus the strange thing was (well the vet thought it was strange) sam didnt show ANY sign of being in pain, he didnt move and inch when he was being poked and pushed around by the vet..... ive taken him of the bigger bones hes only allowed chicken necks from now on because hes just as likely to hurt himself again because he hoovers the bones down!!!!

  9. no change really he still looks very sad and has no energy...i went outside to see if he had done any more blood poos but looks like it may have sprinkled some rain this morn so couldnt find anything.....he has puke once or twice last night by the looks of it but we are giving it till tomoro, hes not allowed to eat til this arvo and hes only allowed boiled chicken and rice in very small meals...hopefully he will eat it...sam is already such a skiny dog because he wasnt fed properly as a pup and hes only been off the food for a day and a bit but hes just disapearing hes getting so skinny!!!i went out to check on him 5 times last night and barely slept.....a few times he didnt even move from where he was and it scared the shit out of me....and he didnt sleep on the veranda on his dog bed like usualy, he slept out in the middle of the dirt which was weird!!!!

  14. All the BC's I clip, arent done for looks. And Im sure most are the same. The dogs are always happy to have their coat off, usually they are happy and bouncy at the end of their clip, and are done because they are in tick areas, and it also keeps fleas off because they are easier to spray. It prevents hot spots occurring, And especially when they are on working stations, they keep free from burrs and spikes from the grass. I agree Silverblue.. We aint all bad. IMO The franchises are the bad guys.. hmmm have to agree with you on everything regarding the clipping of BC's....BUT cant agree with the franchises being the bad guys i bought into a franchise 6months ago and i havent had issues and all my customers keep coming back...i have heard rumours of other franchise that arnt that crash hot...im pretty sure i do good work....in what way do franchises suck???? not trying to have a go or anything just curious as why we are the bad guys? i believe you can buy a franchise with no grooming experience. and these are the people that bring the franchises down and give a bad name for the rest of them. fair enough you are right...the guys i bought with put everyone throu two weeks in the feild training and a few days in a salon...which is better than some but not probably not enough for someone with no idea...i did grooming through the tafe course i did so i was at an advantage!!!! plus i have had a decent amount of animal handling and training skills so i knew how to read dogs....which is something they dont teach you!!!!

  16. yeah im a groomer and 90%of the dogs i was react that way i have one dog i let her inside and she runs up and down the hallway like a looney squealing....and others that run in and rub themsleves over everything and anything they can find...
  17. No they are much rougher than that. Much much rougher. Thats nothing for these guys. They bark, growl and launch at each other as if it's a dog fight ring. No blood has ever been drawn but they are rougher than what you call as play the fact that there has been no blood would probably indicate that they arnt trying to kill each other... when our dogs play they and they dont play nice they get seperated... which is a part of them being trained to keep it nice or not to bother in an earlier post you said you doubt training will help well i dont mean to be rude but your definately wrong, training takes time but works putting a barking collar or any using any other devices with the same intesnt are quick fixes.... you need to train your dogs and you need to get them desexed everyone here has practically said the same thing to you but in a different way so maybe just MAYBE we are right???!?!?!?!
  18. at our club they have an only for instructors sunday class most of the way throu only a few sundays off!!!!which means im back this sunday...unless i have a big night saturday
  19. another mobile groomer here and i always try to do what the owner wants but sometimes it is hard eg a guy before xmas wanted his maltese clipped so it looked like a foxie....WTF how do you do that??? a guy that got me out to groom his lab x poodle and this dog had the worse mats ive ever seen and he wanted it cliped but not short....i guess it comes down to how realistic the owner is in what they want done, some goormers arnt as good as others you just need to find one that works for you, i havnt had any complaints about the work i do, but a few complaints about a few dog washs in the area... i wash to BC's and the younger one of the two sometimes gets this weird skin issue and in this one spot if i brush him his hair falls out, and it leaves this tiny bald spot i dont know if its a hot spot of just a bad reaction he has to fleas, he doesnt have many but if one bites him he reacts bad.
  20. WOW 21 years thats awesome!!!what a lucky dog to live so long with such lovely people best wishs to your whole family!!! RIP mindi
  21. not a bad idea but....it could go two ways.....i noticed a young girl the other day at dog training who had NOOOOOOOOOOO control over the dog she had...and her father wouldnt help her and she wouldnt LISTEN to the instructor.....i think it really depends WETHER your daughter can handle the dog if she can then great idea if not then you may have to find another solutions.....which i dont have SORRY
  22. dam you spoilt....making me cry!!!
