Keeping Dogs Out Of The Ring To Help Others
mirawee replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's bollocks. One of mine that I titled very early on was at that time a rare breed and it was rare to get any competition at all, he earnt his title with group, classes in show and a long list of them. You could take the 25 pointers away from my Staffords and every one of them would still have earnt their title with a BIG. The same goes for my Pointers and the Whippet. I'd like to see the requirements for a title increased, they are handed out like lollies in some cases and people can still earn them 6 points at a time. I don't buy the " my breed is rare " line If they would have gotten the group awards anyway what is the problem with doing away with the 25 point CC clause? I have no problems with dogs requiring a 25 point BIG to get their grand title as I stated. I have a problem with numerically superior dogs only requiring a 25 point CC. Why can't the playing field be level for ALL dogs? Have you ever shown a rare breed (not one just with low numbers)? I have had judges who have watched our breed enter the ring then gone and asked the steward what breed they are judging as they have never seen them before Oh and I have also made the effort and spent several grand in order to show our rare breed in another state so that he had competition (and he was awarded BOB in 2 of the 3 shows) so even though he titled on 6 point challenges due to being the only dog in the State he has beaten dogs who have multiple Group awards But according to you he should not have his Champion title as he has not beaten the many BIS winning grand champions that are shown week in week out in our group from more well known breeds to score a BIG (he has been awarded a ruBIG) -
Yep CleanRun stuff arrives quicker than parcels from the Eastern States! And that is even after quarantine checks it (I am still wondering if anyone has received a CR parcel that hasn't been opened by AQIS ) So within 2 weeks :D

No you aren't wrong! Talking to my mother this morning though she suggested that it could be my Christmas present Oh and she also thought the songbirds were too cute for the dogs to have (Varda loves hers!) :D

Are they worth getting? There are many more I want but with the free shipping it is an added incentive to get them earlier rather than waiting

Chatters is lovely - nice and neat, qucik service, yummy food and reasonably priced Although I did go to Witches Cauldron last weekend for dinner and had the YUMMIEST steak! Witches Cauldron would actually be good. Lots of parking in Subi and close to the train station/bus

Ahh ok that could work. Though I worry about the meal so close to bed, that could get ugly! They go to the toilet soon after then sleep through the night digesting all that yummy food Forgot to say Tiggy your new girl is lovely And how could you refuse Golden Retriever puppy eyes?

+1!! Oh lordy I am so jealous, I am yearning puppies again!! After Sunday and being completely frustrated with my girls, I was thinking puppy no way, but puppy cluckiness is back Tiggy, how are you going to cope with puppy's daytime meals and semi-confinement from your other dogs while you are at work? This is the thing I can't figure out if I get another pup. It was fine with Ruby, I was living at home then and had Mum and Dad working different hours meaning she was home by herself only a couple of hours during the day so I had someone to feed her while she was little. Now I live alone, and have 2 full grown Labs, I would have to contain puppy somewhere and have Dad come feed it during the day! It's all too hard :D Agreed! I have pups set up in a puppy pen or small yard by themselves when I am at work until they are old enough to cope with the big kids Feeds are done early morning, just before I leave (biscuits put in for during the day) often with a kong set up, then as soon as I get back from work and a meal before bed. That is until I wean them onto 2 feeds a day which doesn't take long Seriously most pups cope ok with two meals a day

Didn't it burn down? Or was that a different hotel in Guildford? Guildford Hotel is the one that burnt down - the ghosts got sick of the drunks hanging out there Menus for Rose and Crown: http://www.rosecrown.com.au/index.php/Restaurants/Menus/ (they do have accommodation there vCBR :D )

I will be keen Mirawee ! You, me and Valley are not to far from one another are we? Oh and Tiggy... Tiggy and I are probably the closest. I am just on the Toodyay side of Gidgegannup... so 35 mins from vCBR ;) I actually want to try Cafe Devine on Gt Northern Hway again soon - haven't been there since they changed name. There are also some really nice places in Guildford ;)
-
There is a pub that does nice meals about 5 mins down the road from me... any takers Mt Lawley or Vic Park sound good to me :D
-
Lol, maybe we should have it out our way Mirawee ;) Swan Valley :D Although a lunch would be better there. Have been to Nicholson's before and it was good. Incredibly noisy though so not that great if you actually want to have a conversation There is the nice chinese place that way too... OzJen will know which one I am talking about

My guys think all their Christmases have come at once :D And Banjo's rug fits him brilliantly ;) For dinner I vote somewhere outside the city. Parking in the city is shocking ;) And there are plenty of nice (and nicer!) restaurants in the 'burbs

It is a lovely day, I just have a few things to do around the house and then will go do some training at the park over the road :p I took Mason to Guildford on friday for his photo session, he had the best time! Pfft to both of you ;) I get to occasionally look out the window ;) RS, I am planning to be at training as close to 7pm as possible ;) It can be hard for me to get there much before. Yes, pffft to them as well and a big fat At least you have a window, I don't! And to top it off, the aircon is bahluddy cooooold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My window looks out onto a 3m wide path then the wall of the next building Most of this morning I have been locked in a room torturing someone so no window there - and our aircon is freezing today too Oh well 45 mins and I can go home

Seems we will have a range of Coolcoats for people to try between vCBR's 18", Tiggy's 20", my 22" and RS's 24". I will have mine in the car tomorrow night at training if you want to try it on your girls RS You guys will have to remind me closer to the time I invited you all up here ;) Would need to be either the second or 3rd weekend in Dec And earlier in the morning is probably better which I know is hard for some of you However I think it is going to be a long hot summer

I got my card today too saying that my Cleanrun parcel has arrived Will have to pick it up tomorrow And will see if this one has been checked by quarantine

Strauss looks brilliant Ptolomy! He is growing up and doesn't look like a puppy so much now. Diva lives up to her name Try that and you are likely to get very evil looks from her You might have more luck fitting a foal in your car (should have 2 to admire in Dec - I think the 3rd will be staying with it's new owner until she is sick of playing with it after weaning).

If I had a free weekend and you wanted to drive you could come up to mine. Can kick the horses out of one of the fully fenced paddocks (well smart dogs realise they can squeeze under the gate ) But well, I don't know how much free time I have over the next couple of months X-Mas windup? Could do Takes an hour (55 minutes ) to get to my place from Canine. We can even take the dogs down to the lake for a swim, but only if the geese are not in attendance which can't be guaranteed GR, Paddy is too cute for words

Not good Hopefully not many dogs become affected and those that do recover quickly.

You can get dilute red border collies that are a wheaten sort of colour Same as blue BC are dilute black dogs

We recently paid $204 for an adult male Lappy weighing just over 20kg to get desexed. But if I had gotten a quote of $300 from the vet he went to I would have paid it as it is our regular vet and I like them Good luck for Friday!

Um, tonight I am wearing a jumper and jacket :D Has been warmer the last week but today was cold and tonight is colder. I have a foaling alarm but as I wasn't expecting mare to want to foal this early she isn't in a paddock close enough to get reception! Was planning on moving them all around tomorrow after I drop one horse off to a friend and another to "boot camp"...
