  1. Kyzer is short enough Actually Amanda's poodle who is just over 350mm is ball mad ;) Banjo could possibly be taught to do flyball but he isn't that ball mad He plays fetch but won't pick up the ball within a metre of me
  2. :p So we have to cope with prickles as well as those little black ants now? ;) Do they want all our agility/obedience dogs to be lame or something ;) Probably, but as long as the pretty ones are fine!! ;) (I know you're a show person too, but couldn't resist ) Maybe they are trying to nobble all the pretty AND smart dogs who do both ;)
  3. Race ya then ;) Although I can only get to the 13/11, 27/11 and 11/12 (didn't know about the Dec trial). So you will probably get one of your titles at the next two trials OzJen, think positive! She has around 15 months to get it before my 200 dog starts trialling Although take 6 months off if she has puppies... She has gotten 2 passes so far in 2 years so should get the 3rd in another year

  5. We only have 2 more trials this year I think. Jenna only needs one more pass for both her AD and her JDX Kyzer is the same isn't he? ;)
  6. OK, so they are just used so that the articles aren't lost in the grass then rather than making sure you don't have "nice" smells in the grass? It is always interesting hearing people from other States commenting on the DogsWest grounds given how much flack us WAians give it now
  7. I will just train both girls at 8.15 instead now ;) They are both trialling dogs. You should have Kyzer up at 8.15 too... particularly as once he gets his final AD pass (wonder if he or Jenna will get there first ) he will be kicked out anyway
  8. Thanks Ptolomy What mat? ;) I have never seen a mat used in UD here Am I just really unobservant? vCBR, great that you enjoyed ACWA I will be there next week as long as one of my horses doesn't try and kill themself again
  9. After we decided to retire her from agility she hasn't been too hard to manage She is a good bed warmer Aside from the above, minor spey incontenance if she drinks too much before bedtime and ripping a triangluar flap in her back around 15cm long she hasn't had too many other vet visits (touch wood it stays that way) There are certainly dogs worse off - I would hate to have a dog with allergies like quite a few WA forumites have as I would be
  10. Kinta is my nearly 9yo chocolate Kelpie who was bought from a registered breeder for a show and agility prospect. She arrived at 9 weeks with demodectic mange! Which was treated aggressively by the vets with weekly washes (don't know that I would put a pup through that again). Her career as a show dog ended when her jaw went slightly undershot when she got her adult teeth and then at 18 months she went into her first agility trial and basically went, "I don't want to do this"! A week later she was lame A vet (not the vet I requested to see at that particular clinic!) decided that she had OCD as nothing showed up on x-rays Made me wonder what that vet had been taught at Uni But further x-rays taken by my vet once he returned from holidays showed nothing wrong. I got a referal to Liz Franks (veterinary accupunture) and basically she has chronic muscle issues and ended up with a massive file at Liz's as treatments that should have given her relief for 3+ months would only work for about a week I gave up after she started getting crabby with it all and now she has semi-regular Bowen therapy although she is sounder now than she has been for years :p She does have one AD pass (and a 1st place trophy!) though Unfortunately when sore she would go under jumps and that was often the first notice I had that she needed another treatment Oh and turns out her litter sister also had demodectic mange and went lame about a week after Kinta! And her breeder didn't care So after everything I went through with her I was very hesitant about getting another kelpie.
  11. I don't see you as a BC person! :D I nearly got a BC before I saw Banjo's litter advertised and after a lot of weighing up since I have had a lot of heartbreak with Kinta I decided to go with him Have always loved Borders though
  12. Border Collie puppies are so cute Hmm, Kelpie or BC puppy? Or one of each?
  13. Tiggy, Shimi is so cute So are you counting down by weeks or days atm?
  14. Agreed Although I can't complain too much as when the right pup comes along I will be bringing her home ;) So hopefully she arrives in 2011 RS, what litters are you interested in? :D I still haven't shown you the Lab puppy video yet have I?

  16. That isn't a fail. That is an EPIC FAIL. Ness sounds spethal!! I disagree Varda likes eating soap ;) And I am pretty sure her Mum does too - or at least carrying the bar around
  17. I hope not otherwise between my horses and dogs I am likely only going to live to 50 Aeryn is much better this morning (although I feel crap - got very cold dealing with her in my work clothes initially and now can't stop coughing So I sympathise completely Mason2009!). However our driveway looks like a battlefield! I cannot believe how she could have lost so much blood and still be standing! No wonder her blood pressure was low. I think both she and I were very lucky yesterday that it wasn't so much worse. Ptolomy, you will have to try a fluffy black dog on for size one day Or a sleek black one once Bedazzled has pulled us into line
  18. Well after my night tonight I will not be at training tomorrow Got held up at work so got home nearly an hour later than usual in the pitch black. Stopped to feed the horses straight away with Mum going to one paddock and myself getting the stabled horses in. Then had Mum yell out that she couldn't find Aeryn (yearling full sister of my newest foal) She was only in a paddock of less than 1 acre! Sent Mum for a torch while I looked - soon found a broken bit of fence but happily noted there was no horse lying on the other side of it. Note that the fence is mesh up about 1.25m has one rail at around 1.35m and the top rail around 1.5m! Mesh was fine, top rail had come free completely and second rail had been broken at a weld. And there was a fire unit trailer within a metro of the broken section I soon saw her standing up (sigh of relief) and was walking towards her when Mum yelled at as she had seen a big pool of blood in the driveway! Went up to horse and noted a large wound on her leg so grabbed halter from Mum and breathed another sigh of relief when Aeryn moved off ok. Took her into the stable noted large sore still bleeding profusely, put pressure bandage on and called vet Vet arrived just after an hour and by that time bandage with thick gauze was soaked with blood! Silly pony had cut a blood vessel :D Luckily enough though the wound itself wasn't that bad so once the vessel was tied off and a new bandage put on her blood pressure was getting better - the vet had issue finding her jugular vein to sedate her! Sorry for the saga To say it was a stressful night is an understatement particularly as a friend lost her yearling in a freak paddock accident on the weekend
  19. They still taste yummy that way :D In fact probably yummier than I can make, I prefer biscuits and muffins as they are easier to cook Little foaly shall henceforth be called Amaya It means Night Rain and she brought the rain with her so hopefully she can bring some more Now to think of an official name although I have time for that
  20. You need to join ACWA so that all the rest of us addicts can join in. Good idea WX... Except have you looked how long this thread is Foal is ok in the rain as it wasn't too cold If you bothered to read I am joining ACWA Tuesday I will be there with my minature pony Lincoln in the puppy class. Why would I want to read all the dribble in this thread So the CRA meeting (and vanilla slice ) should be Tuesday

  22. What a great idea And a handy way for your daughter to look back over their progress Love the videos and photos
  23. No she doesn't have a name yet Most of mine are usually named within hours of birth as well! Thing is I need an "A" paddock name for her as I tend to do paddock name starting with the same letter as the Mum's paddock name, and registered name starting with the same letter as Dad's registered name. But for A names I already have horses Abbey (her Mum) and Aeryn (her full sister) and dogs Asha and Aria and a good friend has a dog Allie as well... So heading towards Amy or Amaya or Alia or Aisling (pronounced Aze-lin) ROFL Hey Amypie, do you mind if I name a horse after you?
  24. GR, I would suggest waiting until next year to start puppy agility with Paddy It is only a 7 week term starting this week and you have to pay for the whole term ($5 per night) even if you don't go to all of them! And this is what arrived in my paddock this morning...
  25. Brilliant! What show? Does he qualify for his Grand now? LabRat, mare isn't actually due until next weekend and if she wasn't showing signs of foaling I wouldn't care. But she can't get much readier without spitting the leech out!
