TBH I would be saying the same thing about they have you right where they want you. Making dogs happy isnt a bad thing but your happy and my happy varies immensely

He does it already, learnt that if the baby gate isnt clicked shut properly he can just nudge it open and go sleep on the couch. What you have desrcibed to me sounds like your describing children! I dont go out of my way to not make them happy but making them happy isnt overly complicated either.

Ramses- Novice title! Endrance Test successfully completed. Thats it for next year. He will be 6 in December so Im playing it by ear and seeing how he progressess throughout the year. Will be stoked to get our CD title and have every confidence we can do it!

Ive just got out of pet therapy. I would have loved to been placed in a hospital but was placed in a center with serverely disabled clients. We did our job well and made a difference in their lives. A hospital environment would have been amazing and I more than likely would still be doing pet therapy but with work and study right now my plate is a bit full so I had to stop. Glad to see your having fun!

Im ready to get my head back in the trialling game! Have applied for his title this morning and entered a 3 day trial for January. So will get focused on training for the trials and getting us up to scratch for the new ring! We were meant to compete in a double last weekend but we didnt go because I hadnt put any effort in to get him ready. Just took a few weeks off since our last trial. So im all fresh faced for the new year! Bring on CD!

6yr old male Lab, inside dog, outside during the day but as soon as someone is home he is inside. Last ngiht slept on the couch. He is being spoilt lately! 3yr old female GSD, Same deal as above. Majority of time spent inside, when she is outside she is in the dog run with a roof because she escapes and is a nusiance. Sleeps inside and spends most of her time inside because of the escaping issue. Cannot wait to move to a house with adequate fencing and she can have more outdoor time.

We got another pass tonight!! Right on the money with an 85 so I'm glad we titled on such a high score last week lol a pass is a pass though so very happy with that lol

Totally!! Nah it was the only time I could book in this weekend. Although Im going from chocolate/brown to some form of Blonde so god knows what colour ill turn up with hahaha

Stays- How do you train your stays? For me stay means STAY. When training I say stay and that means you stay put, I dont care if the dog next to you is moving, there is food in front of you. Im calling your name, making a song and dance, stepping over you, throwing a toy or there are kids calling your name you STAY! He is pretty solid on his stays. Recalls I always use the word wait- It means wait because there may be something coming and you will have to move. Ie- recall, change of position those sorts of excersizes will always have a wait command. If I confuse the words and try to call him for a recall after saying stay he sits there looking confused and doesnt move. Im loving the night time trialling too! I get my whole day to do my own thing then can go to the trial at night. This Saturday nights one is a local one Means I can go to work in the morning, get my hair done after work and still rock up on time for the trial! Just going in for fun tomorrow night and boy I am excited!

I have a pink and white striped bag I got in a showbag at the Ekka lol. Rams knows the good stuff is kept in there but never runs off to raid it. Treats I keep in my pocket. Always have a yummy smelling pocket in my training pants lol. Keeps him interested.

Yep entries closed on 20/10/11. Cool looks like we will be going in for a bit of fun. Maybe I wont have a heart attack through the heeling pattern this time

Heheh thanks Bev!! :D Question- We are entered in a trial this weekend in CCD. I wont be applying for the title until week after next. Need to find his AR cert from Dogs NSW first! Can we still go in the ring even though we have the 3 passes? Thinking of going in for a bit of fun but Im not sure if thats allowed.

Thanks guys! The break really did help. And we did about 30s secs warm up before we went in. Just to show him I had treats and it was game time! We got some lovely comments from the judge and she said she hadnt seen a lab so keen and fast when going into positions in a long time! :D

I thought so. I seriously just had a mental blank! Im number 18 in the ring so a few before us.

Thats what Ive noticed yesterday he was so keen to work and was loving it! So Im going to cut this morning sessions short to keep that enthusiasm! Now mental issue! I cannot remember what you can and cant say in the ring! Its only been 3 weeks sheesh!! I know you can say drop,stand, stay, wait etc etc Can you say heel? I cannot remember ever doing so! But then again Im not sure. I am so ridiculous!!

Oh no MG!! Hope Mas pulls out something special for you! I have no excuse! Ive just found it hard to balance my own fitness stuff and my dog stuff! Its something Im learning lol Our session was ok, tomorrow should nip the last few bits in the bud. Our sessions recently have been offlead so it was good to put a lead back on and sense no difference!

I have been so slack leading up to this trial! I really cannot just get of my butt and do a bit of training. Im about to go do some in the backyard and we have our 'hardcore' training tomorrow before work. I call it hardcore because its just an hour of intensive training to whip my signals and footwork into line I so want this title but seriously am so lazy this week!!

All quiet in here lately. We are plodding along. Not sure how CD ready we are but we still have a few weeks. Main problem is our left about turns. Heading back to training next Wednesday in preparation for our next trial on 29th. Im hoping we title because our biggest fan will be there..my BF He saw our dismal first attempt so would be nice for him to see how far we have come!

Was so excited for you Beth!!! Well done!! I did a training session all off lead today and broke it up into bits of training and bits of jumping around being silly. He was such a puppy tonight He goes a little wide on the left about turns but we can tweak that up pretty quick! Finished with a cuddle on the ground and then a game of fetch. Was a good afternoon with my no.1! lol

Anything from $18 a day for a small dog to $25-$40 for a big dog. Prices vary. Its up to you to charge what you would be comfortable with. I boarded 2 large dogs and it was $42.00. Nearly $300 for the week.
