  1. all the best to you and Bailey. Maggie sends huge hugs and kissed to Bailey
  2. I left Maggie for 4 weeks and worried a lot. I don't know why, she showed more attention to the owner of the kennel than to me when I went and picked her up. I must admit though they did look after her well , as she had no knots and had put on weight. But as soon as we got home routine as normal straight on the bed and lounge chairs like she'd never been away.
  3. that's awful, the poor thing you'd think the owners would have noticed this
  4. you could try growling at him. Everytime he bites or nip growl very loudly keep doing this and he will soon stop ( hopefully) . You see this when puppies play if one gets a bit rough they will growl.
  5. yep agree get yourself a table. Maggie is impossible to groom on the floor , but now as soon as she is on the table she just stands ( Until its been a while and I haven't given her a treat.)
  6. what a cutie. I wouldn't worry either Maggie didn't bark for ages and now only barks when necessary. It was the one thing I wanted in a dog and that is a non barker and I was so lucky as so many people told me that Cockers are known for their barking.
  7. Hope everything goes well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
  8. Hi Flipping Kazza Im glad your boy is doing well . My girl was diagnosed with HD at 7 months of age last May I opted for the non surgical option and so far things are slowly improving so feel I"m managing the disease well. She has glucosamine chondroiton, Vit C, and Bowen Therapy as well as gentle excersise/massage and keep the weight down so far haven't had to have any anti inflammatories except at the beggining So I"m keeping my fingers crossed. I suppose the method of treatment does depend on the breed of dog Maggie is only a small breed weight of 12 kg) age and severity but the specialist steered me away from surgery as he feels we would get better results this way.
  9. I am so very sorry My thoughts are with you and the owners
  10. Hi, sorry to hear of your problem. I'd suggest to anyone thinking of debarking to take it very seriously I know of a debarked Cocker and honestly when he does attempt to bark it is an awful sound that he makes . I agree with talking to the dog control officer and explain things.
  11. I don't really agree You should get the dog use to touching these areas because if you every have to clean/medicate or even have the vet look in the ears it makes life much easier. maggie just loves her ears being touched and massaged it really calms her down and sends her into some sort of hypnotic state.
  12. So glad to hear that your dog is ok What a scare ! Yes and not a bad price from the vet. Worth every penny.
