  1. thanks for the information. Will have a look to see what they are.
  2. This may seem like a silly question but I have a Canon SLR with a few lenses. I am looking in getting a DSLR do they take the same lenses ?
  3. Thankyou for taking in this gorgoeus old girl and giving her the best ever last couple of years. RIP Rosie
  4. my thoughts and prayers are with you. Both going to the bridge on the same day, can't imagine how you are feelling RIP Schack and Will
  5. Another that doesn't have that problem. I have the exact opposite . Eats her food too quickly.
  6. I love my hydrobath. I have had the same bath for over 10 years and was used as a mobile hydrobath so has had a good work out. Still going fine.
  7. Maggie started out with anti inflammatories and joint guard, Weaned her off the anti inflammatories , but she still has the jointguard, bowen therapy , hydrotherapy ( swim and treadmill ) and low impact muscle building excerises . I would suggest jointguard and hydrotherapy.
  8. I am so sorry to hear this. I know exactly how you are felling at this time. Maggie was also Diagnosed with HD at the age of 7 months. I remember I was devastated at this time , only thinking the worse. The specialist I saw was great. He explained everything and put me at ease saying that there are lots of nonsurgical treatments , yes surgery may be needed down the tract but there is no reason that she couldn't live a perfectly normal life. Dogs are great. Maggie has learnt to do a lot of things ,a bit differently so it obviously doesn't hurt . She knows how much she can do and what she can do.
  9. I am so sorry for both your loss and that someone was nasty to you. RIP Tigger :D
  10. RIP Princess Gorgoeus looking girl. Will have the heads turning in doggy heaven.
  11. Thanks for the replies. There is none in Cooroy.
  12. Couldn't agree more that people are wanting to blame others more and more and take no responsibilty for whatever they own or do. This isn't just in the grooming business but in all businesses. I have owned 4 businesses and in all, have had clients that just like to blame you. I have found most of the time if you are calm ( I know it is hard ) and point out a few home truths politely you will often get a black flip. I am all for telling people to go elsewhere, Not worth the angst , but unfortunately they often come back , and then they have the nerve to start all over again
  13. I know there used to be a reasonably large obedience club in Noosa years ago, but can't find any information and wether it still exists. Nearest I can find is either Gympie or Buderim.
  14. i love my mars king too Did you take some before and after pics
  15. I am so sorry Sammy. RIP little man
  16. I am so sorry. What a horrible thing to happen. Everyones worse nightmare. RIP Kelly
  17. I am so sorry RIP Zed It just isn't fair when they are taken from us so early.
  18. looks exactly the same as my first hydrobath. light inside . I got it from Hay U, brisbane , which used to manufacture them ( i don't think they do know ). I bought it in about 1995.
  19. the specialist said the same thing to me except he said use adult human dose for an adult dog
  20. I use Joint guard for Maggie ( HD ) and it has helped her greatly Sasha's blend has a very strong smell/taste ( i presume )
  21. I think the RSPCA Noosa have a desexing unit which offer reduced desexing rates. Not sure though if you need a pension card .Give them a call
  22. I am so sorry to hear this news KW I am really feeling your pain as I know how much Rex meant to you and your family. Give your Mum a big from me and Maggie. She is lucky to have such a caring family at this very sad time. RIP Rex
  23. I have all the necessary equipment . Nidawi groomed and showed me how to do Maggie a few times till I felt confident enough to do it myself. I am sure she will be happy to show you also. Not sure how you would organise it but she may want another visit to the sunshine coast or you can have a holiday up north. It isn't an easy breed to groom properly but with a bit of practice and someone to show you can do it. If you can do it yourself, learn how. You get such a great satisfaction starting out with a hairy woolly monster and ending up with a gorgeous looking princess / prince. I can help certainly it just depends if you want shana to be stripped or clipped. I can show you how to do both but of course stripping takes much longer, a lot of skill and persistence. One thing keep the feathers, even if you clip the body leave the feathers on. If you take you to a salon do not let them clip her off fully. It took Nidawi a good 4 hours to strip Maggie ( but she was very woolly)and groom her to perfection. At 16 weeks the time would be getting her used to the noice and feel of the clippers. PM if you want and I can certainly help but remember I still have my L plates on.
  24. Re homing is the best if your not prepared to train. I think that deep down this is what you want to do. Your german Shepherd was the perfect dog in your eyes and thats what you want Bailey to be perfect like him. This will never be they are two totally different dogs. One thing I do say is if you decide to rehome please desex Bailey ( if He hasn't been done) the last thing we want is for him to become a breeding machine in some puppy farm .
