  1. Kenny's mum had tremors & we thought it might be epilepsy. Nothing showed up in all the tests she had, the Vet asked what we fed her. At the time she was having raw chicken mince from the pet shop. The Vet suggested we stop feeding her chicken mince, because that could be causing the problem. Sure enough two weeks later she was fine & we never had any more tremors from her. I'm wondering if it's all the hormones etc., they pump into chooks now.
  2. Really? Strange that Clifford's pics were plastered all over the media. Are you saying Clifford was unassessed and unvetted? Yes, when they first started using him as a money making machine, he was still seriously injured & getting treatment. I don't understand why you are always defending them, unless you have some connection with them.
  3. Really? Strange that Clifford's pics were plastered all over the media.
  4. They have finally posted an article which shows the full picture. Apparently being the "Face of MPW" now means having an article in the Heidelberg Weekly  So it's legit then? Can you please post a link to the article.
  5. Yep & none were adopted from the RSPCA, they preferred to adopt from reputable rescue organisations.
  6. As I said...I could be wrong. Tarope, what I am a supporter of is logic and truth, rather than ridiculous hysteria. Here is logic: one dog that you got from a rescue group is not evidence of people no longer adopting dogs from the RSPCA. Logic, try it. Your accusation that I am an RSPCA supporter is, as usual, when you are unable to prove your claim, simply meant to deflect attention from you. If you have evidence that people are abandoning the RSPCA then post it. Can't be that hard. The fact that the R$PCA is crying foul that people are going elsewhere to buy dogs is in itself prof enough...don't you think. :D Ah, tarope, just keep on being hilarious. What else can I say. Don't waste your breath Tarope. Four out of the five dogs in my block of units all came from rescue, none from the RSPCA. The fifth one was adopted by a lady who's friend passed away, who took her in rather than have her being PTS.
  7. You can't tell me who to respond to, I was replying to a post that mentioned Clifford.
  8. I'm sick of people using the excuse they had a bad childhood, as a defence for crimes. I had a totally crap childhood, but I don't go around bashing people or animals, in fact the opposite. It made me love animals because of the unconditional love they give you, I'm not so impressed with humans though.
  9. They lied from day one & used poor little Clifford as a revenue raiser. Their policy is to not re-home Pitbulls, yet they were saying to all & sundry, that they were going to let Imogen Bailey adopt him when he was recovered from his injuries & begging for people to donate money to make this happen. There were many of us on DOL, who knew from day one what Clifford's fate would be. They are liars & use animals to make money, they are a disgusting organisation & should either be shut down, or someone take control of them, who actually cares for "All creatures great & small", not just money.
  10. Have you tried googling "Clifford"? There are no references about him, except links to DOL. RSPCA covers their corrupt practices, so there is no history.
  11. Noting the 'maybe' but prove it. My new girl came from a rescue group and not that pack of dog killers, that's proof. :D Yes, of a whole one dog. #rollyeyeman I went to rescue for my new girl as well.

    Wa Rspca

BINGO, plus it's not just one state whinging, the cynic in me believes they are making up bull dust, to try & get more participation & funds, for their corrupt organisation.
  13. Same thing they did to poor Clifford, use a dog to raise money then murder it.
  14. That corrupt organisation wouldn't leave a paper trail, they don't want people to find out they aren't for "all creatures great & small".
  15. When I lived in WA & Kenny was young, the rental I moved into had really crappy fencing, palings missing & others that weren't stable. I spent $1500 to put a secure fence around an existing shed, so Kenny would be safe when I wasn't home.
  16. An update, the moron stopped putting his dog on lead the last couple of weeks, so I told him I was reporting him to the council again. He laughed & said he doesn't care, because he is moving out & going to live in Mildura, he leaves tomorrow. Cougar is going to be such a happy girl, being able to finally safely walk & meet the other dogs here on lead.
  17. And if they do? You might be thanked for giving them the heads up. I think I will take the risk tomorrow when I go up the shops, if they aren't home I will put a note in their letterbox. It's a lovely little dog, I'd hate something bad to happen it.
  18. Well with my girl having a name like Cougar, she is obviously something to be feared.
  19. I'm guessing the chain is a check chain - a chain with a larger ring on either end? If so, consider yourself VERY lucky the chain came off your dog. These collars are only supposed to be used when training your dog and you'll find many DOLers won't even use them for training (as they can be considered harsh). Please reconsider the leather collar and if you feel you need to (with the help of an experienced trainer) only use the chain when training. They should only be used for training, never left on a dog when unsupervised. My Kenny's mother died from hanging herself on a fence, trying to escape. I told my ex so many times not to leave the collar on her when he wasn't home, but he didn't listen & the poor dog died in agony & alone, I will never forgive him for that. Edited to add, if your dog is microchipped, then there is no reason for it to wear a collar, except when training or taken for a walk.
  20. Raya they are gorgeous pics & my Cougar looks just like your big nasty dog & is just as soft.
  21. I remembered this terrible story yesterday, after coming back from shopping. Directly across the road from the shopping centre, there is a house with a little maltese, They have gates across the driveway, like pool fencing, the little dog barks when you walk past & sticks it's whole head through. I am so worried about that dogs welfare if someone is walking their dog past & has a go at the maltese. I feel like I should warn the owners of the dog & suggest they put wire or mesh on the gates, so the dog can't stick it's head through. The risk is though, they will probably tell me to mind my own business. It's an accident waiting to happen.
  22. About $25 a week. That includes chicken frames or wings, dog biscuits, dry food, the main meal of meat & veggies, plus treaties of course.
  23. Happy 5th Birthday Stan, I hope your Mum gave you a special treat. Kenny used to always get a blueberry muffin with ice cream.
