  1. rural pug - do you find that they affect your pets at all?

just did a search and deals direct are selling 6 x 'pest contro 3000' for $60 plus postage!

Just went and had a look and they are out of stock, I have left a 'please notify me'. Is anyone interested in one if I manage to get 6? I would want to keep 2 so would have 4 available.

I would  How much would you want for one?

  2. I am really really wanting a DSLR after 'making do' with compact digitals and pulling out my trusty SLR FILM (OMG so old school ) camera when I really need good quality shots and reliability without the shutter lag (my absolute biggest pet hate with the compacts )

I am looking at a Canon 450D at this point - a good one for a newbie DSLR with basic SLR experience? I found some online stores that are heaps cheaper than the cheapest mainstream store (harvey Norman has the twin lens kit for $1297 with bonus photoshop package and strap or bag - the strap/bag seems to be the current promo from Canon direct).

http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/Canon-E...-Lens-p6956.htm Looks to be a slightly different 'branding' on the camera but they say it is the same and is sent direct from Hong Kong.

    citiwide 1000D

    citiwide 450D

Has anyone ever bought online like this before? are these companies reliable? They are so much cheaper! Even factoring in delivery it would still be heaps cheaper.

man I wish I had some spare money

  3. I have a deaf cattle dog and he responds really well to hand signals. He is never offlead outside of our backyard though as if he decided to chase something there is no way I could get his attention to come back! and he wouldn't hear cars, other dogs etc. I think in your case, this pup may not be the one for you - if you are looking for a dog that is able to work and be reliable from great distances. There ARE vibration collars out there that you could maybe use to get her attention but I am not sure of their range.

I love my boy and having a deaf dog isn't that bad (actually it's better in some ways - well for us it is :mad ) but he isn't a worker so circumstances are different. She'd make a great pet though if you put in the work initially ;) Good luck with your decision :o

Oh forgot the whistle - I tried one with Diesel and had no response but I think he might be 100% deaf (never had him tested so don't know for sure). He has a great sense of smell though :mad

Maybe investigate the vibration collars :D

  4. I didn't mean it was any less important at all being a second wedding - just that there may not be as much emphasis on all the fiddly bits (but still nice to have I guess). Just going on my own mum and dad and their second marriages - both very simple and at home where the 'traditional' things weren't as 'important'. No professional photography at either - jsut family snaps but they were happy with that.

Agree with the lots of spare batteries and memory cards - then you can go nuts and cull them later :D

Good luck - I am sure you will be fine :)

  5. I wouldn't do it myself as the sole photographer but I always take my camera along any way and take some great shots of the ceremony/guests/reception (mindful of not getting in the way of the pro!) - I give the negatives/cd and a set of prints if I have had them developed to the couple (I still use my trusty SLR as I only have a point and shoot digital)

I would guess that it being a second (??) wedding it won't be a big fancy one with the huge dress and church and bridesmaids etc.

    Some great advice here
