Thanks so much LP Macro is definitely my thing, hehe. It doesn't require a whole lot - you just need to like detail. Having a good macro lens and a tripod helps, too I have to admit, Eloquent looks great on Redbubble- http://www.redbubble.com/people/iltby/art/2731050-2-eloquent

Sorry guys, have been really slack with participating over the past few days Health has been very bad. Here's a bit of a catch-up- A for attention whore - J for just missed it - H for Hot Husky- X for exhausted mutt - And R for ready to catch it! - Off to check out everyone's photos
-
Thanks Rubiton. Thanks very much Kja, I guess it's just a matter of experimenting with various settings and seeing what works for you. PC, some definitely turn out OOF - often I have the ground or background in focus or the body is rather than the head - I think I must be too slow to focus a lot of the time, or I'm still getting used to AI Servo/not using it properly. Will definitely give the tripod a go though, can't hurt to use it I guess. I'm afraid I can't figure out what VR stands for though  Thanks for the advice! I didn't realise you could do that Nat, will definitely check it out.

Oh okay, hehe. I didn't think you had a son but you looked very cute together
-
You didn't take your DSLR to Mardi Gras?! For shame :D Still love that first pic though, I think the noise just adds to the atmosphere.

BB, homemade is just fabulous, your PP is getting really creative. Rocco, absolutely love the wedding photos, new shoes in particular is gorgeous. DD, really sweet photo of you and your son (?) Kja, awesome juxtaposition shot! Terranik, absolutely love all the photos you've posted today. Alone is really gorgeous, all the sheep/herding shots are amazing also. Absolutely stunning sunrises, too, love all the mist.

God, some seriously fabulous photos are being posted! I'm feeling a little mediocre Off to comment on them all!

Luke - you are, but often it's stuff I forget to consider at the time so thanks for reminding me Ash - you're cruel

Yeah I did, was only getting about 1/200...there just wasn't enough light. Was definitely on servo
-
See, I used that exact setting today, took about 150 shots, got maybe 10 useable ones Maybe I just need to get used to AI Servo. I was using Ap though, I think I need to try earlier in the day so that I can use Tv. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks so much Lea, I really appreciate that I'm very happy with the shot - wish it was less noisy though. Thanks BB...I just couldn't think of an appropriate title for it. I want something very scary. Thanks so much CM! I thought you might be a fan of the Dally I love the dark quality of Dangerous too, am annoyed I can't think what to title it. Absolutely love that jump shot, awesome capture Love the 'in the way' shot too, Scarlet does the same thing BB, really like the old kettle, I took a similar one at that trail ride lodge the other day but it wasn't nearly as interesting. Lea, love the experimentation with perspective.

Hey guys, I need some tips on taking action shots because I'm absolutely hopeless with them - the majority turn out blurry and/or OOF. Obviously if they're blurry I need to up the shutter speed but I need some help with the focusing part. Any advice would be helpful TIA!
-
Two more from me today! D for dangerous. That's not really how I'd describe it but I can't think how to word it. To me it looks like something lurking in the shadows, ready to leap out and attack. I dunno...if anyone wants to make suggestions they're welcome And W for wind-swept- J, really awesome capture, I like the editing
-
Ooh, have you been riding there before? Looked like a stunning spot, I've only ever ridden at Werri Berri. Was a gorgeous Dally, didn't come over and say hello though  I reckon we'll stop by there again one day and try for some more shots
-
Yeah I agree, sometimes you have to resort to flash You could get yourself a mini tripod maybe, they're cheap but they're great for steadying yourself. Thanks so much! It was a really nice day out, that's always inspiring I'm not entirely happy with the Cocky photos, my editing has been a bit poor lately.
-
Great DOF in the paw shot Bindi! 5 more from me today...not entirely happy with a few so may redo them later - O for obscure- F for friendly farm dogs. Mum and I went into the Megalong again today and stopped at a trail ride place/lodge for a drink and there were a few dogs wandering around the place. They were completely uninterested in us but managed to snap this shot anyway- L for lunch. Think this cockatoo was stealing food from one the horses' troughs- Another L for lunch- And I for 'in a row'-
-
Thanks a lot BB! I think it must have been meant to be...we wouldn't usually stop by there. I was very glad we could help them out Thanks so much Helen! I'm pretty happy with it, I love the lighting. Thanks Blab Thanks CM :D As I said, they'd asked 30 people for help before we got there and none were able to - of course everyone they asked was a tourist in a hired car. Mine and their logic was that hired cars would have cables included to be on the safe side but apparently not. Wags, absolutely love your cat shots, he looks like he's in absolute heaven in the second one :D Roc, Rocco is handsome Gorgeous shot of him.

Thanks once again for the feedback guys! I quite liked the movement in the hand in the pat photo Lea, really stunning landscape! Love the contrast between the green of the tree and blue of the hills behind it. Rocco, very cute cat shot, love the PP too. SL, awesome A concept! Love the reflections. Kja, another nice cat portrait CM, absolutely love that first shot of Jamie, too! And the drooling shot of Chester is absolutely priceless What a great capture. Clover, love the shot of happy Harri Blab, lovely DOF in that cat shot! Really cute photo Nik, love the teeth shot, they look like a mirror image Hiding is insanely cute, too. Ruth, love your drool shot, too Chopper looks so sooky in it.

I absoluely love Av...I was shooting on Tv all the time and Tess suggested I try using Av and I'm totally converted. I should give M a go when I'm a bit more confident. 4 from me today - M for menacing- G for gnawing- S for stallion...not really but it's more creative than 'horse' - And B for broken-down backpackers. This one was a very spur of the moment shot; Mum and I had been out having a coffee and dropped by Echo Point on the way home as she wanted to take some sunset shots. When we got there there was a broken down Range Rover in the middle of the round-a-bout - the car's battery had died and the people driving it had been there for ages trying to get a jump start. The poor people had asked 30 cars for help and none had any cables. We didn't have any either so we called Dad to come and help and I chatted to them meanwhile. Turns out they were traveling around Australia together - the woman on the left was German, the man in the middle was Spanish and the man on the right was French - they'd been to Brissy, Melbourne and Tas before they made their way up here. The Spanish guy was really lovely, he was a photographer too...took a nice shot of me but I didn't give him my email address I wanted a portrait of him taking a drag on his cigarette but he kept taking it out when I went to take a shot-
