I went down to Wentworth Falls lake today and took tons of duck shots, so I thought I may as well post them - Duck fight...no idea why this duck had a go at the other one-
-
Yah, I really like it Nik, I can't imagine why you don't. It's creative and well shot.

A break sounds good to me!

God I'm awful with the 1.4 50mm and the 70-200mm 4.0...I think I should just stick to my 100mm Think I really need more opportunities to use the other two. Fabulous photos everyone, that one of Flute is gorgeous.

Thanks very much, I really appreciate that Good to hear you're adjusting to your new lens. Yeah, that's Misty, our 14 year old boy He's doing well for his age. Thanks very much BB. Yes, I really like it, I called it Watching the World Go By.

I'm also sorry for not posting much - I've been pretty unwell since getting back and haven't been able to get out to take some shots. Am also feeling a bit uninspired. I did get this one yesterday though, I really like it- ETA: Tlc, love your shots from today, especially Relaxed and Old Man and the Sea...I can really see you improving.

Oh I love it, the clarity is fabulous and the colours are so rich. Love ASD, seriously incredible cloud shots! CM, really cute shot of Chester Tlc, more awesome editing! I love that drawn-look.

A couple more pics and some names would be good

Off to fiddle with contrast but what do you mean by "noisy"? I know you know me a little but I have a very thick skin and like constructive criticism Hehe, okay. Noise is the slight grain you can see in the shadows of that shot, it's generally caused by a high ISO. Though, I've just looked at the photo again and it's barely noticeable, it wasn't really worth mentioning ETA: Yeah, I much prefer that The colours are a bit more vibrant now.

No worries! To add photos from Flickr, just go to the photo's page, and find 'all sizes' above the image. Click on that and choose the size you'd like...I tend to use medium when I'm uploading things to DOL. Once you've done that, scroll to the bottom of the page and find '2. Grab the photo's URL'. Then just copy that, paste it into your post and add image codes around it - [IMG] [/IMG] Oh, ETA: The photo looks great...it's a little noisy but I don't think that's anything to worry about. I'd personally try boosting the contrast, though The exposure is perfect as far as I can tell.

What exactly what would you like to know? Using Flickr's program is very easy, here's a bit of a step by step guide on how to- Go to your photostream and choose a photo- Once you've selected one, click on it and look for 'edit photo', which will be just above the image- Click on that and it will take you to Picnick...it may take a little while to load- Once it's loaded, you'll see this page in front of you- After that, it's pretty much just a matter of experimenting Check out all the options- crop, rotate, resize, exposure, etc, and play around. Also click on the create tab and see what that has to offer...it allows you to add various filters and effects and also text - -- In regards to programs like Gimp or Photoshop, it's really just a matter of experimenting...you can just start out by playing with contrast, brightness, levels, curves, etc, and then see what the filters have to offer. See how various effects look when they're put together, etc. If you want help on learning the basic tools, here are some great Gimp tutorials, and the link for downloading Gimp- http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/

Awesome use of DOF Nik. Really great composition, too.

Wow, fantastic PP Love ASD!
-
Awesome, thanks! I really should familiarise myself with more of the filters. Trish, the Flickr editing program, Picnick, is pretty good too - upload something and check it out! My mum uses Gimp at the moment...it seems alright but it's nothing compared to PS

Ooh love that editing in the last two shots Tlc! Would you mind telling me how you achieved that effect? Love the shot of your nan and Tully too, really lovely. Sorry I haven't really gotten into this month's challenge as yet, my heart's not in it at the moment. Am seriously loving everyones photos and creativity though.

was that new or 2nd hand, if it was new please share where you got it. It was new and I believe it was from camerasdirect.com.au...will have to double-check though. ETA: Hrmm, no, I must've been mistaken about the cost...the cheapest I can find it for is $559. http://www.shopbot.com.au is a great spot for price comparison anyway.

Thanks so much LP! Love your puppy photos, they're adorable.
-
I paid about $400 for my 1.4...make sure you shop around a bit before buying.
-
Thanks Tlc! I don't do too much to them but never upload straight from the camera either. I generally adjust levels, temperature, brightness and contrast. Rocco, thanks Absolutely love that shot of Ralph, he is such a spunk.

Thanks a lot! We went to Cullburra, though these were taken in Greenwell Point which was about 15 mins away

CM, I really like the second dog statue shot, I think it works very well. Really awesome use of DOF. The tree shot is adorable, too. Am loving the editing in this thread, people are being so imaginative with it. Here's two more bird shots from me-
-
Here you go, let me know if you'd like anything changed -
-
Will get onto it tomorrow B&B

They're on their way! Thanks so much! Absolutely, have been planning to create a thread after I've finished uploading them all to Redbububble, dA and Flickr. Love your moon shot ;) Thanks so much Darien! It's a lovely area, though Cullburra is a bit too dead for my liking :D We stayed literally 10 secs from the beach, it was really nice. The place was called Life's a Beach, some other DOLers have probably stayed there before.
