  1. I sent Heather a message too. I was speaking to her today for about half an hour and her phone was going flat. That could be why.
  2. There was someone who posted earlier in the thread about fostering a dog...god, my mind has gone blank as to her name...she lives in Whyalla? Can she take the bitch?
  3. I also just want to thank Julie/Steve for her massive coordination efforts. This hasn't been easy (and it's still going on) and I don't think anyone realises what a huge job this is. However, things are well on their way to being sorted.
  4. 2 fed and happy elkies curled up in Piper's borrowed crate, sound asleep. MANY thanks to KHM for picking them up for me, and to Piper for the crate loan!
  5. Miss Squish said they could take either pups or girls?
  6. I am nowhere near Forrestville, but I can house a car in the back yard, if it can get here.
  7. Miss Squish said she and one of her carers can take a dog each.
  8. No matter how much I adored a dog, I couldn't keep it if it killed another. It would not be the same dog, in my mind, after that.
  9. Way to kick her when she's down lilli. Sheesh.
  10. I saw one that said "Never mind the dog, beware of the owner". This is apt in my place. I'm far less amiable than my lappy.
  11. Yep. My dogs are both girls. It's all good.
  12. Yep, I know where Vic lives. When is good to go get them? I need to line up mum to look after the kids.
  13. lol piper, you sound like you live in the same area as I. I've tried to call Vic and her phone is "unavailable" whatever that means.
  14. Ok, I can take a couple of pups. I know Vic's males won't get along with mine so I can't do them. Vic, I have onlt met Kari of your girls, so not sure what the other girls are like? Perhaps mum and pups if the girls will be ok with mine? Can anyone loan me a crate LOL.
  15. Well, I've been going to meets for...oh over 3 years now, and we haven't had any problems until now.
  16. I think I'll stick to smaller meets with people I choose to meet with as well.
  17. I saw ONE fight on Sunday - that was the one first mentioned. It's not like we had masses of dogs going at each other.
  18. Grrr...this has caused massive problems with people not feeling welcome, even because their dogs are active! This is ridiculous! WA, Akira is not a pain in the ass. She is a happy girl and never causes trouble.
  19. LWC, Sash was definitely not a problem.
  20. You could also get a double ended lead. My mum isn't especially fit , but manages to walk an Amstaff and a Shar Pei together with one of those.
  21. Who, exactly, was your above comment aimed at? You have a problem with a dog that was there? Well, so we don't have food and we don't have any toys. We just all stand around huh? Well, that's going to make for a REALLY interesting meet!
  22. I'm afraid I have to agree with lovemymutts. My dog WAS one of the grumpy ones on Sunday, and had I known beforehand there is NO WAY I would have brought her along. Anyone who has seen Snik at other meets can testify this was unusual behaviour for her. But, as I said, if I had realised before, I would have only taken Indi. She's easy and doesn't give 2 hoots about anyone If my dog was NORMALLY like she was on Sunday, she wouldn't be going to any meets. I wouldn't bring a dog that I knew had guarding issues or dog aggression issues.
  23. I need to apologise. I feel like a total DICKHEAD that I did not notice Snik was on heat. If I had known, I wouldn't have brought her along. Sorry for quick post, kids are trying to kill each other.
