  1. Thanks so much Schnauzer. Friend is stressing a bit. Great advice.
  2. Yep she knows SASH so that's good and Gladesville I'll look up. Thanks ladies. What was rehab like, Clyde?
  3. A friend of mine took her best mate to the vet yesterday and she's been told her dog will need surgery on her cruciate ligament. Understandably friend is pretty distraught. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good specialist vet? Friend is prepared to travel. She's also worried about the rehab so if anyone has gone through this surgery and can share their experiences I'll pass it on. Thanks in advance.
  4. So true. One of my dogs broke into the laundry one day and gorged on kibble. Vet said to lock her in a crate, give her a tablespoon of oil every 2 hours and if she hadnt pooped by 6 pm to give her a can of Pal and 'she'll shit for a week'. Vet was right
  5. do you have a friendly butcher who will put aside brisket for you?
  6. Wow. Awesome deal on the chook frames. Which brand sardines? I get the no name I think - black and red packaging. 49 cents a tin. What are your veggie and egg prices like in coraki?
  7. What's the little fluff ball eating at the moment, sharon?
  8. So sorry Ruffles. Cujo will be keeping all the dogs in line at the bridge. Big hugs, mate.
  9. Ohhhh might have been an egg. Thanks Kitkat. She had one on saturday morning. Certainly human grade and she has them once a week - this one just broke when I cracked it so couldnt use it to make Mr R a poached egg. Problem solved, I think. Ta muchly.
  10. Hmmm she's not a poo eater, Poodie, but I'll keep an eye out. Great news, Poo. Little darling man. I still havent seen pics of him in poojamas.
  11. Thanks Poo. She's as annoying as ever. How's your little bloke going?
  12. OK I'll come clean here. It was Pancake and Erny was helping me out because I didnt want to worry my breeder. Thankyou so much, Erny. You're a legend. All seems well. I dont know what on earth caused the problem. Diet is always the same and poos are always little nuggets. She never poos in her pen overnight. This thing was so stinky I was ready to vomit, and it was definitely a bottle green colour.
  13. Ditto what puggy said, Delt. I'd be going for something really bland like poached chook and rice, no cheese but maybe a bit of yoghurt. Check with your vet, hon. Cool pic.
  14. Everything we do causes CK levels to change. The good news is that Delt's dog is home and well. If it had been brown snake envenomation the poor little bloke would be dead by now. Pretty frightening thought. Great news, Delt. Post some piccies.
  15. Well now that Delt has said it probably isnt a brown snake envenomation I will just say this - Is your vet serious? Brown snake venom is one of the worst. Change vets and fast.
  16. Try not to stress, hon. Wait for tonight's test result.
  17. Didnt you say they used a venom test kit when he first went in, Delt? How stressful for you.
  18. Do you have any linkies to scientific studies on that please Choc? Personally I wouldnt touch that without knowing how much damage there is to the little guy's kidneys.
  19. Any news on the Creatine Kinase Level Testing, Delt? I'd be surprised if they didnt conduct them. My lot were getting them daily to keep track of what was going on.
  20. Did the vet perform CKL testing? If I were you I'd be ringing up today and requesting it. It indicates how much muscle damage there is from tissue breakdown. I'm surprised they sent your little bloke home so quickly. 2 of mine were envenomated by a redbelly - 10 days intensive care. After that it took a good 9 months for recovery in which time they urinated and defecated blood, had seizures, lost all of their hair and one had what we thought was the onset of necrosis at the puncture site. When he comes home you are going to have to keep him pretty quiet for about 6 weeks. If that means crating him in a low lit room - do so. No running around - his lungs are going to be laboured. All the best. Dont hesitate to pm me if you want anymore advice.
