  1. My god what on earth was he thinking? Stupid question - he wasnt even thinking at all. What a great combo for any breed - submissive mother and 6 year old kiddy. Guess who the alpha is going to be. Do they even know how to feed a growing pup of that size?
  2. I hope you both had a restful night
  3. So why didnt you just ask - Are you an ethical consumer? Less words in that than your own title so not so long and tedious. Am I an ethical consumer when it comes to my dogs? I'll have an espresso, fill up my car with petrol and drive to woolies to buy food for my dogs that costs more than an African family would spend in a month and the grower probably wont see a cent of that, so probably not. Do my dogs care? About as much as if I bought them an appendix 1 animal to eat. I dont know why you get into such a tizzy, corvus, but you do it every time you start a thread and someone just wont go with your flow. But you are right about one thing - I thought the title of your thread was so thought provoking I probably skipped the intro. Scuse me...time for my non Fair Trade coffee while I ponder how many trees died for my morning newspaper
  4. Dont roll your eyes at me, Corvy. I didnt roll my eyes at you. Are my dogs ethical consumers? No - dogs dont have ethics. You're supposed to be a scientist so formulate your question like one
  5. This thread is so funny. What does an ethical consumer for an animal mean? Do you ponder over that while you drink coffee and eat chocolate, Corvus? Or buy your computer and clothes made by a little kid in a third world country?
  6. I know but I'm thinkin Simon? Simon??? That is the most ridiculous name ;) I love it so much! Simon the Bottom.
  7. Then YOU will get yelled at for crossing the road and being paranoid and breedist. God knows there have been enough threads on this forum about that scenario. It's never bloody ending. Sort of makes you bash your head against a brick wall, doesnt it.
  8. This is in the OP. every body walks there dogs off lead even thou its not designated as an of lead area She knew it wasnt designated as offlead.
  9. No doubt. Like my poor bloody old dog walking home on lead when a bastard owner's illegal offlead dog who 'OMG she has never done that before' ran across a busy road to pick him up and maul him into a seizure and vet treatment. Stupid asshole of an owner!
  10. This entire thread is ridiculous - Hey look at me I'm going to promote breaking the law every day and someone gets grumpy so I need to whinge or... certain breeds are horrible (even though I wouldnt know the breed if it bit me on the arse) to my illegal offlead dog. Smacks of one big beat up to me. No offence.
  11. A lot of people wouldnt know a purebred JRT or Fox Terrier if they fell over one and their offlead dog ate it. Anything small that's white with tan or black patches just gets called one of either. Dont worry about it.
  12. And then they'll be the first dog owners to whinge when Councils' crack down and tell all dog owners to bugger off to offlead parks or nothing at all. Gotta love the stupidity and short sightedness.
  13. I'm sure poor Ralph was totally disgusted
  14. Take a pic of Simon (Simon? What a great name for a dog ) from behind, Rocco. I love baby bulldog bums.
  15. You're just making excuses because you think you're above the Law. If it's not a designated offleash area, keep your dog on lead - it's not bloody rocket science. No offence.
  16. Was he running to you when she couldnt keep hold of his lead? He probably weighs more than she does
  17. Yep sure. I've had three of mine in intensive care (eta not for parvo) and I know how exy it is but didnt know anything about parvo treatment. How long does it usually take for recovery while on full treatment?
  18. and claiming Phar Lap as their own. And making us take the blame for Russell Crowe! :p Now he should go in the vermin thread. Resume normal broadcast.
  19. and claiming Phar Lap as their own.
  20. Well there you go - you learn something new every day. Thanks janba.
  21. But it's not recognised by the AKC so what is to stop her standardising the breed here? It's certainly happened before - BC and JRT come to mind. 2 breeds developed in Australia without the consent of the country of origin. Border collies were well developed in the country of origin before the ANKC decided they should be show dogs. They also have their own registry in the country of origin that was founded in 1906 and recognized by almost every KC around the world but not the ANKC ahh rightyo - thanks for that. A bit OT but why werent they shown over there before Aus breeders developed the standard and were the Brits anti having them registered as conformation dogs?
  22. ahh right I didnt realise they required a blood transfusion. I havent had any experience with the disease. I'll be keeping an eye on your thread and hoping for positive updates. She's a gorgeous little dog.
