  1. 1- Open photo in PSPXI copy and paste as a new image ( always copy the origional never alter the origional unless you intend to rename it) 2- copy and paste as a new layer the same photo onto itself ( you then had 2 layers of the same photo) 3- go to effects, Photo Effects and select black and white film 4- Use the eraser tool and erase the areas of the top photo that you want to have colour from the photo underneath In the above pic I then did 5- Go to Adjust - Depth if field and adjust the background to blur it 6- Add picture frame - Image- Picture Frame - select frame 7- Save as a jpeg not a pspimage otherwise you won't be able to upload it to DOL or any other photo server The above pic took about 10 min's to do. Let me know ( PM) if you need any more help and I will add you to my MSN messenger and I can talk you through it over MSN
  2. No. I created the puddle effect with a plug-in called Redfield. This is the origional. Used Redfield on it, then flipped it to cread the mirror image puddle ((Vickie I tried to respond to your PM but your box is either full od you have PM'S turned off))
  3. Thanks I do mine with Corel Panit Shop Pro XI plus I have a heap of plugins that really make it easy.....
  4. Had a quick go tonight doing it with Corel Paintshop Pro XI Will have to make sure the bg is WHITE next time...
  5. We have a Maltese x Papillon. I do ALL the grooming , nails, clipping between the pads, the landing strip as I call it so she doesnt get "dags". Gemima wasn't too crazy about getting groomed at first, so i would just do it in stages, with lots of treats and praise. She still isn't too crazy about getting groomed, but she knows it will make her feel better. At the moment she is in puppy cut ( because our BC pup was dragging her by her coat) For the first few days after her puppy cut and on our colder days here she wears her wollen jumpers. Brookie, have you ever tried to do the grooming yourself??? Depending on where you live, if your not too confident, there is possibly a DOLer who lives close to you that could help you learn.
  6. Lilly gets the chicken and rice VIP Roll or pal puppy + Puppy Kibble ( whatever I happen to get at the time as I tend to chop and change but mainly by the Pal.) She also gets chicken necks/wings, brisket bones, treats for training, left overs and the occassional little piece of peanut butter toast. I was making up cooked mince and rice with vegies, but she didn't touch that even after 3 days ( the cooks go it), so gave up and went back to the Roll/Tin.
  7. I only just finished reading this.. What an amazing story of love and courage... Lots of prayers for a continued road of recovery
  8. Hi Curious We have a puppy here ad we have used a crate. Since she is a Boarder Collie x we got Lilly a large crate, with her own mattress and its covered. We have it set up in the loungeroom, but once she is a little older she will be moved to our youngest daughters room cause that is who she belongs to. Bedding is at the back of the crate, water and newspaper at the front for those just incase accidents but that hasn't happend since her 2nd night in the crate. We just make sure she is toileted before we go to bed. Lilly isn't crated through the day at all anymore ( she is 15 weeks) but to begin with her down time was always in the crate.I was unsure as well so posted and got a lots of help for DOLers too. Now, when she is tired she will nap where ever she happens to be at the time, but at night after her last toilet session ( usually 11-12pm) we put her to bed after a cuddle and then close the door till we get up at 7.30-8.30am.No problems, no whining, she knows its bedtime and goes to sleep. Its her safe place. The next time we hear her is when its time for us to get up anyway. Someone is home 95% of the time so we have an area penned off just outside the front door of the kids end of the house( an area of about 25x25 feet). That door is always open so the dogs can come and go inside and out as they please(except at night I always supervise as Gemima tends to bark a lot at night if I am not there, and i don't want the cats to get out at night.) Only when we have to leave her at home for a few hours do we crate her through the day. I found it to be the best thing we bought.
  9. Hey Pesh... thanks for the help here.. I also posted this in the Training section. Lilly has her crate now, and is doing great with being crated at night, and goes there to sleep. The pomeranian is my OH's sisters dog, and they only see each other say 1 x month. Have bought the crate so when we visit Kristy and Mums place, Orlando isn't fearful because Lilly is so full on and boystrous. Had a good talk to Kristy today ( Tammy satyed home and looked after our dogs, as Lilly had a sore eye from getting it scratched by the cat- saw the vet and had injection for inflamation + cream x 3 daily)) and she is good with the crate idea. Will do a trail run in the very near future.
  10. Well Progress today, Lilly went into her crate ON HER OWN..... yipeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was obviously tired and went looking for a place to nap, so yup she chose her crate... happy happy joy joy.... She is also doing VERY well in the triangle of temptation that K9 has posted about. Will post some photos soon of her sleeping in her crate.. THANKYOU all for you help Now i know she feels safe and comfortable there, I feel aLOT better about having to crating her in situations that require it.
  11. Ok attached a 2 litre water icecrean container inside the crate with a small amount of wire( on the outside so she or anything else cant get injured) Put about 300 ml of water in it so as she drinks it i can see if it needs topping up as it is positioned at the front of the crate. She is in there at the moment for nap time...
  12. When I went to the online Centre Yesturday, The girls came home at 3pm after school and let her out for play time walks etc that they do after school. I was concerned reguarding the water too so will get one of those that you mentioned.. Will try a small container of water inside another container till i can go to town on Saturday to get 1. Thanks for that.. it was 1 of my main concerns too. KK thanks, Lilly at the moment is ONLY going into the crate at Night and when we have to leave the house. She doesnt go into it on her own, but I'm hoping that changes with time. We don't put her in there for time out or anything like that. When she starts to play to rough, we normally just put Gemima where Lilly can't access her so it gives them both a break. Thanks for the suggestions and advice,, its helping a lot
  13. Thanks sm. I really just need confirmation im doing it right,,, and if there is anything else i could be doing as well to help her along...
  14. Ok Tuesday went out and bought the largest crate i could find. Would fit a large dog easily. We have been crating lilly at night, and when i have to go away from the house through the day ( like today when i worked at the online centre) In the crate we leave toys and treats, but no water as Im worried she will just turn it into a swimming pool she LOVES water play) At night, she is toileted before bedtime, given a drink , the put in the crate. Today i built an enclosed area just out the front so she can free rang safely , and so can Gemima. Yesturday we started the Triangle of Temtation that K9 posted in the pinned area for training. We started this with BOTH the dogs, although Gemima will be a battle as she is not food orientated at all ( Papillion x Maltese) My question, IS there anything else I could/should be doing IS there anything im doing wrong.. suggests welcome Maree
  15. thanks Pandii Im going to get a portable metal crate in Tuesday so before we go down to Mum's ( that where the Kristy and her dogs are) Lilly will have a chance to get use to being crated.. Its easier to crate, than to try and control a boistrous 10 week old pup on harness...........
  16. No she isn't crated as such but she is "enclosed" in a safe area so the cats and Gemima have their time out as well. Thinking the crate idea is a goer, cause it can be used at home as well. I can see that Orlando is overwelmed by Lilly, just trying to resolve situation so both our dogs can go to town with us when its needed. Lilly mostly plays with Gemima at the other place where Kristys dogs are ( both toy breeds) But your right, Lilly is a typically boistrous BCx and fairly large already at 10 weeks old.
  17. Posted this in puppy section but though it would get more replies in here Orlando, my OH's Sister has a pomeranian. He is desexed and almost 12 months old. He has been to puppy school but prior to that was very fearful until socialised. The first couple of meetings with her dogs and our new pup went well, but now when we and the dogs( Lilly- BC x and Gemima Papillion x Maltese) go down to visit, Orlando's get up on the lounge and won't come down. When he does he cowers with tail between his legs.Is visibly submissive. Here's the problem, Kristy doesn't want us to bring the pup down any more because of Orlandos behavioural problems, and we can't and i WON"T leave a 10 week old pup home alone for the period we need to be down town on shop days ( sometimes away from the house for 10 to 12 hours) How do I socialise Lilly with Orlando again to restore his former boistrous bouncy self?. I have thought of buying a harness and keeping her next to us on lead whist in the house and Lilly and Gemima can run around the back yard for 10 to 15 minutes between times. OR Getting a portable crate, that we take with us, and crate Lilly, but my concern is that Lilly will then feel like its her fault, and thus creating issues for Lilly. what is the best solution, Oh and Gemima and Lilly play fine. If anything Gemima( is the rougher of the 2 and when Lilly gets too rough, Gemima nips her and tells her off, so there is no issues there; HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. aweeee... Im sorry to hear that floodles... im hoping that your unfortunate experiece with shaving a Pom will be a lesson for my SIL NOT to do it when there is no need... Thank you for your experience
  20. THANK you SOOOOO for that espinay2 its along the lines of what I was actually thinking for them. this is the kind of thing i was after as i think if Kristy realises she could possibly cause long term damage to Orlando by clipping him, she WILL groom him the correct way. Keep them coming.. because it will only help persuade her to do the RIGHT thing. Thanks again... Maree
  21. I think with a bit of persistence I may be able to get through to them... But thanks for all the replies.. its just confirmed what i have already told them.. i think they will be ok .. dont get me wrong.. Orlando is really loved and looked after.. but as i said before.. they were extremely uneducated reguarding the breed. When they spoke about "clipping " him next year.. i was the one that said.. for god sake DON"T..just brush him.. etc
  22. God i hope so.. I can see them being open to facts from breeders/show people owners.. Kristy is having a terrible time bathing Orlando as he "cries" when he is bathed in the sink. I suggested to her to put a towel in the sink for him to stand on so he feels safer. Kristy I feel has been "bluffed" by his cryng/vocal outbursts Im just doing what i can to ensure the little guy is getting the best possible outcome. I guess Im trying to educate them without interferring.. if this makes sence.
  23. ummmm your NOT going to believe it when i tell you... because it will look so " puffy" with a full coat!!!!! sorry guys.. im as appauled as everybody else.. they groom the pup.. but he is difficult .. but given the fact he is only 13 weeks old.. its to be expected...I TOLD them just be patient.. and persist.. reward.. I guess what i am looking for is a fact sheet on 101 reasons why you DO NOT clip/shave a Pomeranians coat other the the edges for neatening...
