  3. Yeah no snow! Very spiffy! Yeah she doesn't mind, she only likes getting the ball and loses interest in it as soon s she is on land
  4. You'd think Weims would come with in built swimming for sure She is getting better... maybe she needs a floatie ring around her back legs :p Ooooh have a nice trip ST!
  5. That's pretty much what happens if only she realised if she kept her head low and her feet under water then she wouldn't get splashed She's special that one Yeah he's sneaky like that - 50% of the time he gets in to get it though and he can swim a million times better than her (not hard ), he also gets in and hovers swimming in the one spot waiting for you to throw the ball good exercise! Yeah I did go. They train at Jubilee oval which is just off Morley Drive which comes off the Tonkin - about 35-40 mins from mine.
  6. Oooh naughty Sugar Plum!! I don't have that problem - one of mine is scared of ducks (we have big mean white ducks that are bigger than him ) and the other is just not really interested in them! I took my two over to my Bro's yesterday because I was helping him clean, my two needed no pressure to get in the pool I just said 'hop in' and they both did Surprised me a bit, they've turned into real water babies this year. Trixie still can't swim properly though Her high stepping front paws just don't work well for swimming, but she moves forward now which is a massive improvement I took a video of her spazzy swimming (she fell in but usually she leaps off the side with mega air action) I drove all the way to Eden Hill tonight to make the most of the practice ring that was going to be set up at the ADAA trial... but they hadn't set it up - Fail Oh well still got the dogs out and watched some agility and played with them
  7. I was just flicking through photobucket and found this photo of Ruby & Millie Millie the flying Lab! Doesn't look very comfortable
  8. Kyzer 9 weeks Kyzer about 1 year old Trixie 9 weeks Trixie about 6 months Trixie and Kyzer a month ago - Kyzer is 4 and a half but looks very grey, Trixie is nearly 2 and a half This thread is making me puppy clucky
  9. Jeeepers!!! What an awesome way to finish the year!!! Massive congrats TSD, and good buy Ziggy!
  10. This is very similar to me. My bosses have a dog who is in the office all day and 5pm on the dot he knows it's dinner time and starts whining - if they are busy sometimes they will be in the office an extra half hour or more and he whines the whole time - it really irritates me and I deliberately keep my dogs guessing about dinner so they don't develop this habit. We also go to training two nights a week so they don't get dinner as such - they get treats for working
  11. Wow Nik! That's awesome - great work. Gee those Aussies are doing pretty well! :D And their handlers too I suppose :p
  12. Congratulations Wuffles and Ava, you must be thrilled!
  13. ST you killed the thread!! :p How is Ari going today? Glad I hear she's feeling a bit better Thanks for your ET account OSS!
  14. Oh the duck dogs WILL be happy They sure will I have to admit I like the new sound better, but for those who enjoy having their eardrums ruptured the medium 'other cuz' is still extremely squeaky like the medium isqueaks were before Busted! Ours, but I haven't seen you yet But happy to drop the stuff off on the weekend
  15. Did you get a medium isqueak? I did, they have changed the sound, they used to be SUPER squeaky, now it sounds more like a duck
  16. Some people aren't willing to put a dog through such major surgery, it's an individual choice, you have said that she has a 90% chance of pulling through the surgery - what happens if she falls in the other 10%? You have to be prepared for the fact that you may be out thousands of dollars in surgery fees with no dog at the end of it. Obviously, I really really hope that doesn't happen! If you go ahead with the surgery, it sounds like you are, I wish you and your puppy the best for a long happy healthy future together.
  17. I was just wondering because they have to be 2 to enter, so she should be fine
  18. How old is Squid Emery? I couldn't do it without a lot of preparation over a few months, partly because I couldn't be able to just jump on a bike and ride And partly because I'll need to build the thickness of her pads up, because I'd hate for her to hurt a pad halfway through and have to stop, also because she has a mild heart murmur I wouldn't want to risk pushing her more than she can handle. If you did a lot of the training on softer surface such as grass or sand the impact on joints would be lessened (but the impact on your leg muscles woudn't be )
  19. At this rate the ET may be all DOLers
  20. I'd say she'll be absolutely fine - the bulk of your training and conditioning is done earlier on and over a long period. I'm pretty sure rory only got one ride each of the last couple of weeks. Yeah I think if she is ready for it before I leave, then I'll just pick it up again in the last week, it's not like she will be sedentary in Sydney anyway. The schedule reckons they do 12km bike a day with a longer ride once a week, but they are woossy GSDs :p .
  21. Nah I've only got the one free day, and it's a Tuesday. Think it would be too much to ask of her anyway. Plus no bike etc Dunno
