Zorro is scared of the noise opening a can makes !!! Anyone elses pooch have the same phobia ??? He always gets scared when he hears us spraying the kitchen bench, for example, the noise from the spray bottle - he tends to cower a bit and tries to hind behind the couch. Last night, i showed him the unopened can and let him smell it, so he knows it wouldn't hurt him - and then I opened the tab, and his tail went between his legs and he tried to hide. Whenever he is in another room sleeping and hears either of these noises, he runs in straight away to where we are. What else can I do to break this fear ?

Hi Guys.. I have a 5.1mp Fujifilm digital camera - wondering what setting to have it on to when you are trying to capture your dog in movement ? Some come up quite blurry when the cats/zorro move. Generally I have it on either Auto, or Anti Shake. I don't know much about photography, all I know is that I want clearer pics ! :-) Thanks muchly !!!

Hey Guys... Off topic - But i'm looking at buying a new digital camera. I have heard that Casio Exilim's are very good and give a great crisp clear picture. I have found an EXZ75 which I am considering buying, and wondered if any of you had any feedback, comments at all. I don't want to spend more than about $250. This one is $225. Thanks everyone ! Our dog moves very quickly - I want a camera that will capture him without blurring too much ! Hopefully this one can. :-)

Well I've just contacted Val Bonney of Bonnies Dog Obedience. And I've got Ian Wilson coming out on Sunday morning to help with Zorros aggression with children, due to past occurences with the kids next door. We get a copy of the DVD & Val Bonneys book too which is great. Good value. We thought that maybe its a good idea for Ian to speak with the parents of the kids next door and the kids so he can see how Zorro interacts with them. Hopefully we can sort something out. What do you think I should say to the parents?

Hi there, Wondering if anyone can help. We have a problem with our Border Collie who was teased by the kids next door, and he now doesnt like children! So we have to get this fixed. Looking at getting in a behaviourist and wondering if any of you Brissie people had any recommendations. I've contacted Val Bonney - Bonnies Dog Obedience Bark Busters, and The Paw Man. If anyone can tell me who is the best to use, and not too expensive, that would be much appreciated. We need to sort out this problem before he gets any worse. Thanks in advance !

What do you do with a dog when you hold his snout or his mouth, and he gets more excited & cheeky and still tries to bite?? We bite him on the ear when he bites us - but he still bites us ! Always the hands. I'm going to try pushing in the sides on his teeth and see if that works. Nothing seems to phase him though as nothing has yet worked.

Then I got the 'bug' and wanted to do a few more !! This is a trial of what I want to send as xmas cards to everyone - don't like the background though, but it was the best that suited. Might change it to a candy cane frame instead, cant wait to play around with it all tonite !

I'm just new to using my photoshop elements, and thought I would post a few things that I did last nite !! Keep in mind - its my first time I've done it !! :-) Any where on the net where you can download more effects etc ? There aren't alot of backgrounds to choose with Photoshop Elements... wouldn't mind a few more ! Does anyone know how to make a faded background of a pic by any chance ?? Heres my few.... These are Thank you cards that I'm going to print from my wedding.

My pup is 8.5mths old and he still does it ! We have tried yelping & walking away - he obviously stops when we walk away, but later when we cuddle him or anything, he starts nipping again. We tried the water bottle- he did stop when we spray it, but then he still keeps doing it. We tried lemon in the water, he likes it. What else can I try ???

Cool - durack is only 10mins up the road, so I will have to pop in and have a sticky beak !!!! Best to leave Zorro at home ??? Or Okay to bring him along ?

Excuse my unexperienced self here.... Is this training to teach you & your dog how to 'show' ? Like stacking etc ?

What do you feed your dogs ?

I now use the Natures Gift wet food too ! I used to use optimum, but thought to try NG and now thats all I buy !! Smells more like meatloaf than tinned food. Whats there dry biscuits like ?? What are the prices like & how much do you need to feed the pup ?

Thanks everyone !! It is much more easier at the moment to feed kibble as we have a house full of people here for the wedding so trying to think of what to make for him as well as so many other meals at the same time would be a bit crazy ! It is much easier to give the dry food rather than putting together different foods etc - but I will prob change my mind when our life gets back to normal after the wedding and when everyone else has gone home.

So you are happy with IAMS ??? We've only just started mixing it with supercoat at the moment, so should be fully on to IAMS in a few days time.

Thanks for helping to open up my eyes !!! We went with the IAMS cos its better than the supermarket ones, yet as we are on a tight budget it is not as expensive as Eagle Pack. If I was to feed him a complete raw diet - what would be a typical meal ?

The vet mentioned to us too that if zorro needed to, he could stay their overnight - but the surgeon said he recovered so quickly he would be fine to bring home - so we did ! I just can't wait for him to get the stitches out and the collar off so he can go back to normal !! I'm the same as you Rhi - I would only take him to where he knows & the vets who know him. He did puppy preschool there too! And the vet is just lovely.

Hi Everyone, I have just bought IAMS for zorro and as of this morning have started to gradually include this in with his SuperCoat. This is what we feed him for breakfast & dinner (2 meals/day). Dry Biscuits topped with Natural Balance (?? - green tin from woolies) - about 2 tbspn for flavour & moisture. He gets the same for dinner also. Sometimes I will add some grated carrot or zucchini and steamed rice/pasta to it. I've been reading about how a natural diet is great for dogs - so I'm thinking about doing that from now on. A few times a week he will also get chicken necks/wings or bones to chew on whilst we are at work. So... my question is.... if I add vegies & meats/necks to his meal - how much of the kibble do I put ?? He'll be on just over 2 cups per day of the IAMS for his weight. Hope that all makes sense !!! Zorro was back in full swing last night playing with his toys & running around. We checked the stitches last night and all are still in place, and the swelling is continuing to go down. Even though he has been playing, he still seems fine ! Honestly, you can't keep a dog like him in his crate all day - thats not fair, a little bit of running in circles (not in the yard - in a smaller area) can't hurt too much. Jak - that does seem like a top price - especially that Jak is only small so wouldn't even need as much anaestetic either. Must be the overnight cost that bumps it up. Wonder why he has to stay in overnight ? Did they say why they want to keep him in ? I could understand if they were only doing the op in the arvo, but Zorro went in at 11 or so and we could have picked him up anywhere from 4pm.
