  1. Woohoo, well done to Julie Wardell. That's a nice feather in her cap after being awarded BIS out of Minor Puppy a few weeks ago at Medowie...
  2. Megz has scanned the catalogue and put it on here so just go back a little bit through this thread ETA sorry gave u a bum steer there, it's the other thread that has the catalogue http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=218733
  3. Yes she takes great pics and they are certainly worth the wait. It's a long haul doing the Royal and I think some people have no conception of how hard the official photographer actually works!!!
  4. I watched the Giant Schnauzer's at the Royal today. I was amazed at the different types of tails on show. There was one that sort of went straight up in the air with a slight bend in it, there were some that curled like a coil and then there were some that just hung straight down. I am wondering which type of tail is the correct one, any ideas?
  5. Facebook and I don't seem to have a very good relationship. Would you have a link please?
  6. We have a traditionally docked breed (schipperkes). We have a rescue schipp who has a docked tail that was docked too short. We have to help her go to the toilet as the muscles were damaged during the docking. The rest of the schipps we have are not docked and I really love their tails. As a Judge said to me one day, the big winner when they banned tail docking was the Schipperke as they have beautiful tails. The big loser was the Corgi as their tail is nearly as big as they are...
  7. Yes I agree with MEH. You need to reinforce to puppy that you are the alpha dog and what you say goes...
  8. Sorry I'm clueless. Mine usually pee somewhere different to cover another dog or persons scent. Maybe puppy is testing your boundaries? like a child does, after all, they really are just little children
  9. Have you had visitors in the last couple of days, particularly another dog?
  10. it's usually a minimum of 4 and no maximum but I have seen less at different shows that have a breeders team. it would be worth asking the question of the officials for the Royal I think
  11. Yes it did but I left my numbers and the breakdown with someone else so I wouldn't forget them. Did you enter online or by post? If you entered online, did you remember to change the postage to yes? I forgot to do it again but Tom very nicely posted mine with someone else's.

  13. No points for that either. Points are only awarded to challenge dog & challenge bitch. Best of breed gets all the points for that breed and other sex challenge winner gets those points.

  17. When I was showing Bearded Collies there was an Australian Cattle Dog (not a rare breed though not always high in numbers being shown) that was continually non-awarded due to it being a long coated ACD that was trimmed. It did actually beat some dogs but I don't know if they finally titled it or gave up trying. Ashley might know?
  18. and what about when you are the only one entered 98 % of the time? It's got to be reasonably fair to all breeds. If I had to travel to Queensland or WA to compete against others I would never show ever again. I certainly don't have the time, space or money to keep a kennel full of dogs so they can compete against each other, "creating majors". I wasn't suggesting taking away the CC when there is one dog entered, hence it has a pretty good chance of getting that CC unless it is non-awarded. I was thinking more along the lines of having more CC's available for numerally larger numbers.
