  1. She's up to 6. ;) 1 black boy 2 red tri girls 2 red merle girls 1 red merle boy She might have one more left... Maybe. She needs a blue to complete the set.
  2. My dream pup just popped out! Red merle male with Holly's markings and a natural bob tail. ;) Fingers crossed he turns out nice. She's a very quiet whelper, not much pushing and suddenly there's a pup there.
  3. Very plain but dark red merle bitch born, she also has a bob tail. Still feels like there's a couple in her belly. ;)
  4. We have babies! 3 strong little wigglers so far, a boy and 2 bitches all bob tails! Holly is being a wonderful mum and has had 3 bubs in less than an hour after keeping us up all night huffing. Hopefully she has a pretty red merle in there still for me but whatever else she pops out I am just so happy the bubs are ok and strong.
  5. Thanks everyone. Thankfully Ruby doesn't seem upset about it and is more bothered by her cone than anything else so we are leaving it off while we can keep an eye on her. She's not interested in her stiches but the shaved belly seems itchy and she is a clean freak so keeps licking her lady bits. Holly is due Saturday, but I have a feeling she will go on Thursday night as that's when I have a party to go to to celebrate being 1/2 way through our uni degree. Right now I don't care, I just want healthy babies.
  6. The Aussies are blind in their blue eyes and we cut their tails off. They are huskyX or Coolies. The Irish is ugly/funny looking/cross bred.
  7. Thanks everyone. Will keep you updated on Holly. Kimba is HUGE!
  8. Thanks everyone. We are still really shocked by it all but perhaps it was for a reason? Who knows. Please keep your fingers crossed for my girl Holly who is also pregnant, she is going back to her breeders for her litter but I couldn't deal with losing both litters. She's due next Saturday. We are going to get an ultrasound done tomorrow to check the bubs. And it's the worst time of year for me, I start my exams tomorrow. Studying today has been close to impossible.
  9. Ruby has a C section tonight when she passed green gunk before a pup. All pups dead, 3 died weeks ago and were moosh, one hang on until very recently. Gorgeous little boy with the white on his chest like his Mummy. Ruby is coming out of it now, she should be ok. Vet thinks Herpes or a bacterial infection. We are heartbroken. Our first litter has not been a good experience, but at least we have our precious girl.
  10. Thanks everyone. The stud dog owner looked at the pictures and isn't worried at all, but thinks she is having less than the ultrasound said. She keeps telling me not to stress! I would just like her to have them now. No temp drop yet but she's looking uncomfortable and slower today.
  11. Well looking at the pics she is bigger than normal so fingers crossed there are SOME babies in there for us. She's happy and cheerful, no discharge or anything along the way. Will see how she goes. Stud dog owner thinks Tuesday will be the day.
  12. Ruby today: Two weeks ago: And one week pregnant:
  13. Well I think Ruby has gotten smaller in the belly than she was a couple of week ago. She's got big boobs full of milk but isn't acting very pregnant any more either. So I think she's at least reabsorbed some of them unless she's the master of hiding. Her belly feels empty, it's not tight like Holly's who is a week behind her and the vet thought they had the same number of bubs. So now I'm wondering if we will even be having babies. :D She's due tomorrow from the first mating but no temp drop and she's eating fine. If she isn't looking like going on Monday I will see if Mum will get an xray of her done.
  14. Do they shed as much as labs? nup, not even close. Aside from the twice yearly seasonal coat drops, they actually don't shed much at all. No one told Holly then, everything has Holly hair on it! But I would prefer her coat drops over Poppy (short hair) as Holly's is alot easier to get off things. I think Holly would be on the same level as a Lab but Maizie doesn't shed as much.
  15. She hasn't eaten brekkie or lunch today but will see with dinner. She was happy to eat some Tiny Teddies but then she's NEVER turned one of them down. Honey ones, not chocolate of course. No drop in temp so it doesn't look like she will go early. She may well go later than Saturday as she had several matings and the first was a slip so my bet is Monday (when I have an exam of course, Mum has next week off work though).
  16. I think she's gorgeous, Mum doesn't! Mum's a little worried one might crop up in our litter but it's unlikely from the lines we have.
  17. Irish Terriers DO require grooming to look the way they do at shows, hours of it actually. It's called hand stripping. They can get along with other dogs if you socialise them well and from an early age. And yes, she is actually a pure bred of a recognised breed! Border Terriers aren't a Border Collie x Terrier. And yes, she too is a purebred! No she's not a Cairn.
  18. Aussies don't require hours of grooming. A brush behind the ears and the pants once in a while and you should be right unless your dog has a monster coat. They aren't nuts, they do have off buttons. You can have one in a normal backyard if you do the work and make sure they are part of the family. They aren't supposed to be everyone's friends, they can be quite reserved with strangers so just because she gives you a disgusted look when you try and grope her doesn't mean she's shy, it means she doesn't want you all over you because she doesn't know you from a bar of soap! Yep some of them love everyone and that's fine too. They aren't part Sibe (blue eyes), they aren't Coolies and YES they are a completely different breed. Yes they can see out of her blue eye/eyes.
  19. Love the preggy pics! Whippets was the one in the background trying to help? Ruby is eating but not whole meals and full of milk. I don't think she's got a whole lot bigger recently but she's happy and content, she actually seems to be quite enjoying the pregnancy for the moment!
  20. Today's Dal Champ Show BIS - Jupiter (Ch Topspott Jupiter's Gold) Well done to Topspott Kennels and handler Kari! I got to show this guy a couple of weeks ago and gosh he's a fun dog in the ring!
  21. The whelping box turned up last week and it's a bit big! Oh well, will fit my Aussies ok but poor Ruby will be swimming. Just have to get a couple of last minute things and move some crap out of the spare room (which are today's plans) and we should be all set (I hope). I think Kimba is having at least 8! Look at the belly!
  22. OMG we have a week left, little freaked out now! So excited though. I'm home all next week incase she goes early and Mum's home all the week after and then I'm on holidays.
