  6. Good Luck to everyone at the Royal! Hopefully someone is there that will let us know top 8 and the winners
  7. My biggest problem is that everything I have jacket and shirt wise is to go with black pants. I may be able to get away with wearing the black pants this weekend as my daughter will be showing the tri as I will be showing the sable as they are in the same class (baby lol they will be naughty as its there first show and will make us both look like fools lol).
  8. I generally wear pants simply cause I am fat and dumpy and skirts make me look so much more fatter and dumpier. Colours I avoid are: Black because of the tri Oranges because of the basenji Light tans because if the sable Greyson and some blues because if the blue Merle. Some pinks because it looks horrible behind the basenji I really have made it hard for myself.
  9. Ok so I have a question on colours. Thinking about buying some new show clothes but not sure what colours. I will be showing 4 different coloured dogs. A red & white basenji, a sable, a tri and a blue Merle shelties. The only colour pants I can think of is white and the shelties are all youngsters so prone to jumping up so would prefer not to wear white pants. Help please.
  10. I can't quote as on the phone but in reply to gaylek's comment about stapling stuff together. I used to staple mine together until I actually was the one on the other side and after doing over 140 entries where almost half were stapled I absolutely detested and hated anybody that owned a stapler. I now never ever staplemy entries together I paper clip them. To what was originally asked I have only ever sent 1 SSAE even though I have had dogs in multiple names.
  11. Just wondering how many entries did you end up with? Are you able to give us a group breakdown? Thanks
  12. You probably wint find a thick snake chain, I have never seen heavy duty ones, most are fine. Only you will be able to device the thickness required as you know your dog and it's behavior. If you think your dig would snap a snake chain or even a regular chain then your best bet is to show on a collar and lead.
  13. For me it is the cost and face judging. I do not see the point of going to a local show when you can mark the catalogue before the show even starts. I would much prefer to travel a bit, even though your against the same dogs generally it seems the results are anyone's guess and not a fore drawn conclusion.
  14. just seen this now, I'm guessing its too late to get a few entries in? There for group 5 if that helps? LOL
  15. Found the old topic when I googled it, was hoping that maybe someone had experience with it. Spoke to my friend yesterday afternoon and her boy has been up on his feet albeit very shaky and not for long. So hopefully he doesn't slip backwards like some of the stories that I have read online. Rappie have the outcomes of the cases you have seen all been happy endings?
  16. A friends dog has come down with an unknown disease and after testing for heaps of different things it is looking like coonhound disease. I have ever heard of coonhound disease until now, so was wondering if anyone knows of it or has any experience with it. Friend lives on a farm so the dogs aren't exposed to heaps of other dogs, it is also only 1out of about 15 dogs that is sick.
  17. Good luck to all, I was going to be there but sadly i'm stuck in hospital.
  18. Yesterday my gorgeous Basenji Girl Karma got the final point (yes we needed 1 point) for her title! It has taken a long time and many miles travelled looking for competition. But she finally done it!! So now she will be known as: CH. Wazazi Diamonds Are Forever. :cheer:
  19. I wish Dogs QLD had the brains and fore thought that other states have. They will not even allow Neuter challenges.
  20. Ok so rang the number left and he has just rang me back. The complaint was made about 2 very large crossbred dogs being kepy in very small crates  I told him the only part that was correct ain that statement was that I have 2 dogs. I told him that they are a Basenji and a Sheltie and then had to explain what each breed was as he didnt know.I also said that both are papered as they are show dogs He seen the pens that were in the back yard and said that they were of an adequate size. I told him that they were only used when it is wet as then I can throw a tarp over them so they can still do there business outside. I told him how they are cared for etc and he was more than happy with the crates and yard and said that he didnt need to come out. So thankfully I paniced for nothing. Its funny though he said there is nothing wrong here so I will go tend a case that does actually have animals needing my help cause yours definately dont. So thankfully all is done and dusted and to the person who made the complaint
  21. Thats the whole point Anne it DOESNT make sense!! The only time they get locked up is at night or if I'm out, and half the time when I'm out they go with me. The basenji's crate is a trolley (plenty of room) and the Shetie is in a soft crate. Both could have a party in theres crates they have plenty of room. Both always have water available to them and biscuits. They are usually loose in the house with me when I am home and we go for walks in the afternnon weather permitting. The only reason that they are crated at night and when I'm not home is because the Basenji will destroy everything. I have learnt that the hard way!
  22. The police officer that reported it was a woman. The lady from DOCS was lovely and she was the one that told me that a complaint was also made to the RSPCA. I didnt think they would actually come out, when I hadnt heard anything after a couple of weeks. Its now been a month since the report was lodged with the RSPCA. Funny thing was that reports were lodged with DOCS and the RSPCA the same day as the break in! Even before the attending officers even put in the request for forensics to come and finger print that didnt happen until the next day!! My dogs are my babies and they are in no way neglected or mistreated. They are usually loose in the house with me, as the neighbours dog has been getting into our yard lately and I dont want my babies getting attacked. The neighbours dog is NEVER in its own yard.
  23. Well thats the things anyone that knows me personally knows that my dogs are my babies. The joke amongst non doggy friends is that I will happily feed myself and my kids no name foods and crappy cheap stuff but my dogs never get anything but top quality dog food.
  24. What is the RSPCA's ideas/ rules/ laws etc on crating dogs? I was broken into about a month ago and because there was glass all over the place, I put the dogs away in there night crates. 1 of the police officers was more interested in the fact that the dogs were in crates and and that there was shit and kitty litter all over the floor. (Who ever broke in trashed the place tipped the kitty litter tray out spread packets of flour sugar and other stuff all over the kitchen) the police officer put a complaint in with DOCS (who when they seen the pics and then seen my house said there wasnt a problem and they should never have been involved) and also RSPCA. Even though it was a month ago, I get home today and find a card in the mail box from the RSPCA. Basically the only thing they can complain about is at night and when I'm not home the dogs are crated they arent small crates there is plenty of room for them to move around in etc. Can they have a go at me over that?
