  1. BIG C/T - well done and now you have done it the first time - told the judge that you weren't ready - you wont be rushed and won't be frightened to tell them again I never set my dog up until the last possible moment - however.....last night the judge insisted that we sat the dogs next to the pegs before removing the lead (Sally is this something Michael usually does). He then proceeded to give us the judge chat eg you must leave together etc. During this time I got my dog up, patted him and then repositioned him at the last possible moment. Remember the exercises doesn't start until the judge asks....Are You Ready.
  2. Mrs D Vigor (SA) Novice Mr M Vigor (SA) Open Ms L Knauth (Qld) UD Mr L Knauth (Qld) UDX and CCD Because there were 29 entries in Open it was sudden death - which is unheard of in WA. A lot of dogs didn't make it past the heelwork Eventually 7 made it through to stays (8 actually but I opted not to do stays with Blaize). The dreaded sit stay monster struck bigtime - we returned from the hide to find 4 out of the 7 dogs dropped. So I think this just goes to show we all need to keep practicing those dreaded sit stays.
  3. Have to also say Ruby couldn't do a stay on Tuesday night to save herself and as for a SFE - that was totally out of the question. So she really was an extra good girl.
  4. Big pat on the back Rubystar - you did a great job last night. This is the same dog that I walked up to the car to give your mum something and she dived out of the boot and jumped all over me must be my perfume odor la chicken We had Eastern States judges last night - who all do things differently to our WA judges - so it makes your pass even more special (just forget the score) its not important. Scoota did his best open round ever last night (gees thats a BIG statement ) and came away with 193 (losing 2 for down stays) - this score doesn't indicate the standard of the work he gave. Scores are just a number
  5. Yep MIA packed in a box somewhere - just trying to find my black shoes now and hoping that they aren't in the same box

  9. squeak squeak squeak I can feel it in my water I am passing on my addiction Can we make it 30 i-squeaks before the order is placed? Come on folks ........... We could have an I-Squeak party!
  10. Oh Rubystar don't forget the different colours - you can get them in a beautiful green colour which is my favourite, or the kids favourite which is the red one and then you can get a bright blue one which is very pretty too. Gotta run - Off to play with the i-squeaks squeak squeak.....
  11. My name is Ptolomy and I have an i-squeak addiction. I usually go for the medium sized ones but now I am branching out and trying them in all sizes. I don't have a colour preference. The more squeak the better.....
  12. I have only watched it the once and that was a few months ago - but she went through how to play tug and how people get it all wrong because they keep pulling the tug out of the dogs mouth. It was also interesting because her dog shut down on her and she ended up having to use audience dogs. I have lent it to somebody but more than happy to post it around when I get it back.
  13. Ness - is that the video I have?? Making Reinforcement Fun - if so happy for others to borrow it.....
  14. er NO definitely not. That would make life way too easy! No food no toys no double signals.......
  15. I guess that would depend on how you train, and what level of drive your dog has. The one advantage of prey drive is its usually stronger than food based drive. Horses for courses. Prey drive has nothing to do with it - in the space of 2 minutes you can do far more repetitions rewarding with food than you can by throwing a ball where you might only get 3 throws and 3 behaviours in the same time period. You may not get the same attitude using food but you can do more repetitions.
  16. The one down side to using tug or balls as a reward when a dog is learning is that you can't do as many repetitions and playing takes much longer than delivering a piece of food.
  17. Order more I-Squeak balls Leopuppy Rubystar I have 4 coolcoats - which I ordered straight from Cool Champions. You can now get them at the K9 shop and I think somebody said they were cheaper?? I love them - they do a great job of keeping the kids cool on hot days.
  18. Can I order 9 small i-squeak balls in total please. (6 for me and 3 for Zoe......) TA
  19. Anybody thought about emailing Clean Run and asking if they are going to do free postage again anytime soon?
  20. Cuz's are good Rubystar - but my kids perfer the texture of the i-squeaks. I have only medium ones at the moment - they are about the same size as a tennis ball and yes I hide them in my pockets, but I want some little ones to play with when I am waming up. If I was you I would order 3 of each  (at least.....)
  21. I do Ness - but they are all medium and I have found that I now need small ones - hence the new request.......
  22. If somebody is placing an order - can I get 6 small JW I-Squeak balls please....... Just let me know who I have to pay and how much....
  23. It seems this challenge was too easy or perhaps it shows which dogs really do know what a sit stay means
